19:46

Liverpool qualify for the last 16 as winners of Group E; Napoli join them, while Salzburg move into the Europa League.

19:45

Full-time: Salzburg 2-0 Liverpool

90+1'

Liverpool have had 20 attempts at goal.

90'

There'll be two added minutes.

90'

Ashimeru replaces the disappointing Szoboszlai.

89'

Salzburg are all over the place at the back now, and a long ball over the top for Salah is avoided by Salah who's offside. So Mane collects and drills a shot that's deflected over the top.

88'

Szoboszlai lifts over the top for Hwang, nashing down the left, only for him to hoist a pointless cross that's nowhere near anyone.

87'

Origi replaces Keita.

86'

There are various ways to read this game. You might say Liverpool were too strong, and Salzburg gave them too many chances. But you might also say that Salzburg have finished and goalkept badly, and had they not, they might not've lost.

84'

But here comes Hwang down the right, looking to cross, but the ball loops up off Robertson and Alisson collects.

83'

Salzburg are disheartened. Liverpool pass around them, then win it back when they lose it.

82'

Dries Mertens has put Napoli 4-0 up.

81'

Liverpool win a corner down the right which Alexander-Arnold sweeps towards the near post. Salzburg get it away, so Alexander-Arnold crosses again, but Mane can't manufacture an angle which lets him head on target.

79'

Possession stuff from Liverpool.

77'

Salah gets away, Onguene in pursuit, and Salah waits for the challenge knowing he's the stronger man. Sure enough, Onguene bounces off him, but the ensuing shot is too close to Stankovic, who saves.

75'

Okugawa replaces Haaland, who's not had a good night.

75'

Milner replaces Firmino.

74'

Haaland holds up well but looks like he doesn't trust his pace so moves it wide to Daka. He sends the ball over to Minamino on the other side, who tries to trick Robertons to open a shooting lane; Roberton buys the feint, but lands in time to block behind. The corner comes to nothing.

71'

Mwepu lifts a ball over the top, finding Haaland out on the left. His cross is to no one, drifting well beyond the back post.

70'

This is dying a death.

68'

Daka, a striker who's scored 16 goals this season, replaces Januzovic, a midfielder.

67'

From just by the right corner of the box, Alexander-Arnold aims for just inside the near post and again Stankovic isn't paying attention, but the ball drifts wide.

66'

Lovely turns from Mane to escape Mwepu, who boots him as you might. He does well to avoid a card.

65'

...and Januzovic chips it over the top, but Wober can't catch up with it.

64'

Minamino wins a free-kick, 30 yards out, marginally left of centre...

64'

However they might at least indulge those of us who've backed Liverpool to win and both teams to score.

63'

Salzburg are trying but the jig's up and they know it.

61'

In commentary they're saying Liverpool have "turned on the afterburners" but that's not really what's happened. Stankovic has behaved extremely strangely, twice, and Liverpool have exploited that with an absolute absence of ruth.

59'

GOAL! Salzburg 0-2 Liverpool (Salah) What a finish this is! Henderson lofts forward for Salah, who streaks away down the right and what is that keeper doing?! Again he races out, Salah speed-waddles by him, and from a ludicrously acute angle, he snaps a right-footer which looks like it's going to hit the near post, then curls out and away from it, nestling in the far side-netting! Game over! Group over!

57'

GOAL! Salzburg 0-1 Liverpool (Keita) This is a lovely goal. Alexander-Arnold pings a lush ball out to Robertson, who chests down and slides Mane in inside him. He nips past Mwepu, who totally sells himself, and then Stankovic does likewise, rushing out to meet him without a prayer of getting the ball! So Mane clips a cross at Keita, who heads home with ease.

56'

Mane gets a run at Kristensen down the left and chucks in a stepover, but the defender keeps the head and brings the ball away.

55'

Liverpool look a little nervous now...

53'

Gomez replaces Lovren.

51'

Mane is booked for dissent, and Lovren is down. I think he'll have to go off.

50'

Ach! Firmino slides Salah through, he takes it around the keeper ... except his touch isn't strong enough and the keeper manages to poke the ball away from him! Then Salzburg counter, Minmino sticks a pass into Haaland, and his first touch is lovely, a chest that sets him for a shot. But he takes another which moves him away from goal, so he has to swivel into a shot that whooshes wide of the near post. How is this still 0-0?

50'

Hwang looks a player, and he moseys out wide, exchanges passes with Ulmer, and finds Minamino in the middle, just outside the box, but Firmino rishes back to challenge.

48'

Lovely from Mane, who's developed into such a fine passer. He sees Salah running from right to left and slides a ball in behind to meet him, but Salah misses again!

47'

Lovren clears and Ulmer rushes down the left, cutting back for Haaland who sweeps goalwards immediately ... but the ball cannons Lovren in the chest.

46'

And immediately, Salzburg get Hwang away down the right; Alisson rushes out to clear.

46'

Off we go again...

18:57

Right then, back they come...

18:42

That was an enjoyable half, with lots of chances and some decent football. Salzburg will fancy themselves to nick a goal and the longer the score stays at 0-0, the more Liverpool will wonder how to approach things.

45+1'

Half-time: Salzburg 0-0 Liverpool

45'

There'll be one added minute.

45'

Firmino, who's been quiet, drops deep to find Salah, and he switches feet to flick Keita into the box, outside him! Keita's first touch is decent too, but he can't open his body enough to slip by Stankovic, so the keeper blocks the shot.

44'
43'

Hwang slides a ball through to Haaland, who might run Alexander-Arnold but instead look to find Minamino ... who's offside.

41'

Szoboszlai forces a ball back to Mwepu, back to goal, and his mate meets it beautifully, a field-gun of a shot thudding straight into Alisson's midriff.

40'

Mwepu runs through midfield and away from Keita, but Haaland can't control his pass.

39'

It's a bit scrappy the now.

39'

3-0 Napoli! Milik has a hat-trick!

37'

Hwang feeds Szoboszlai on the right, whose poor cross is cleared.

36'

Possession is 60-40 in Liverpool's favour.

36'

Little period for Liverpool now, Sal;ah and Keita prompting around the edge of the box but getting nowhere.

35'

Kristensen is down with a bang on the bonce.

34'

Salah whips well over the top.

33'

Henderson pops into Salah, who gets his arse into Wober; Wober can't help but foul him, just outside the box, right of centre....

32'

Who look a little nervous, Lovren passing back to Allison when there was scope to go forward. Klopp shares his opinion of this behaviour.

31'

Bit of possession for Liverpool.

29'

What a chance! Keita collects possession on the edge of the Salzburg box, turns, and slides in Salah! He's got plenty of time too, adjusting to shoot with his left foot, but instead of going across goal he looks to sweep inside the near post and, with far less margin for error, hits his shot wide.

29'

And here they come, Januzovic finding Hwang, who could shoot from the edge but instead slips to Minamino outside him and Lovren pounces.

28'

Salzburg are just asserting themselves again.

27'

Milik has scored again for Napoli. If Liverpool win, they're going through in second place, and if Liverpool don't win, they're going through as group winners.

24'

Lovely from Minamino, who look a player, and outside him, Haaland has made a good run, adjusting his feet beautifully to take the pass into stride. But Alisson has his angles right and smothers the low shot.

23'

I'm not sure why any manager who rated himself would go to Arsenal.

21'

Salah finds a moment on the ball and looks to slide a pass across the box for Mane, but Kristensen intercepts and Minamino counters, sliding Hwang outside him. He shoots low, and Haaland is there sniffing, either to divert it home or pounce on an error, but Allison holds.

21'

Liverpool are taking over here.

20'

Nice from Wijnaldum, finding Mane, who takes the ball in his stride, screeches into the box and opens his body, but he can't find pace or direction, and Stankovic shoves away his shot.

19'

Liverpool win a corner down the left which Robertson curls in, but Wober is there to head clear at the front post.

18'

It's probably for Haaland, but I'd not be shocked if it was for Szoboszlai, who's been quiet so far.

17'

The thing is, much as Salzburg are trying to score, I bet they'd be delighted if it was still 0-0 at 70 minutes. I'd almost favour them then, because Liverpool will get nervous and their defence can be got at.

16'

It's slowed down a little.

15'

Hwang lays off to no one, but Lovren dithers and eventually has to put the ball out for a throw deep inside the Liverpool half.

14'

Firmino finds Alexander-Arnold down the left, but Kristensen clears his cross.

14'

Salzburg are pressing Liverpool's back four, but in so doing they're leaving space in midfield.

12'

Nice combination play between Keita and Mane around the inside-left position before the former runs out of room.

10'

Strewth.

8'

Mane finds space outside the box so looks and bends a shot ... just wide of the far post.

7'

Lovely from Salzburg! Hwang finds space when he picks up a Haaland pass and scythes into the box, finding Minamino outside him, collecting the backheeled return and sending Henderson out for a box of crayons when he feints outside and cuts inside! But Allison is paying attention, rushing out as he's in the process to smother the eventuating shot.

5'

Gosh, this looks like it's going to be a game! Mane makes space down the left and swiped over a cross that has Stankovic diving, lest it sneak inside the far post.

5'

Lovely ball over the top from Lovren that Mane could take, but he leaves it for Salah who, on his right foot, can only drive straight at Stankovic. That was not a very composed finish - he really should've scored.

4'

Milik has out Napoli head. We knew this at kick-off, but if Liverpool lose tonight, chances are they're out. And assuming Napoli win, they need to too to win the group.

3'

This has been a fast start from the hosts, who are not messing about. The holders are in a game.

2'

Junozovic takes and Alexander-Arnold heads clear. The ball ends up wih Januzovic a second time, but his second cross goes away too and Szoboszlai shoots wide.

2'

Here come Salzburg again, and they win a corner down the right...

1'

Immediately, Haaland gets a step on Van Dijk, and immediately Van Dijk closes the distance, relieving him of possession to clear.

1'

Away we go!

17:53

The ground is absolutely rocking. I'm well looking forward to this.

17:52

HERE THEY COME!

17:51

And we should note that Napoli-Genk is, of course, taking place simultaneously.

17:51

The players are tunnelled...

17:49

Sad news. Farewell, Bald Eagle.

17:47

The. Full. Stops. Really. Bring. It. Home. To .You.

17:46

The Cringe Derby.

17:42

Sadio Mane also played for Salzburg, and what a player he's become. Even when Salah scored all those goals, he looked a better player to me, and when Liverpool threatened to drop off last January/February, he was the one who held them together. He might just be the best in the world in his position, and on that point, it's worth crediting Jurgen Klopp. He was the one who moved Mane to the left, and I daresay a pointed word here or there helped him settle into the position.

17:42

Steve McManaman has had the same hairstyle since 1991. Incredible scenes.

17:39

Salzburg have only lost once at home in three years. I do fancy Liverpool tonight, but I doubt they'll keep a clean sheet.

17:38
17:34

Dominik Szoboszlai is another player I'm looking forward to watching. I'm told he's absolutely brilliant, though he was recommended to me as a midfielder. he's on the left tonight.

17:32
17:29

On BT, they're talking about Erling Brut Haaland. I like the look of him I must say, though Owen is saying he's not excited to see him because he doesn't have an outstanding attribute. What if he's not just a sprinter, who's got a first touch, some skill, and doesn't aggravate supporters of every club he's ever played for?

17:26

Liverpool might be taking this game seriously but Michael Owen is not.

17:22

Keita,of course, once played for Red Bull. Klopp will be hoping - for about the fourth time - that this run of games will finally see him recapture the form that got him to Anfield. We've seen so little of it as to be ridiculous - the absence of a player like him is why Liverpool didn't win the league last season - and if he can't find it this season, you've got to wonder about his future.

17:21

Klopp says Liverpool need to show that they're ready, and Keita impressed at the weekend, though is alos right for this game - "an easy decsision".

17:15

As for Liverpool, Lovren partners Van Dijk again and Alexander-Arnold has his spot back from Gomez, while in midfield Keita keeps his place; Wijnaldum replaces Milner and Mane comes back for Oxlade-Chamberlain.

17:10

Obviously Haaland is Salzburg's key man, but don't sleep on Hwang who can also play.

17:05
17:00
16:53

Ok, let's have ourselves some teams!

15:28

I'm looking forward to this one. I've not seen Erling Brut Haaland play a full 90 yet, so there's that. But there's also a group to be finalised. Liverpool go through with a draw, or a defeat if Napoli lose at home to Genk. But if Napoli draw and Liverpool lose, the holders are out; if Napoli win, the lowest-scoring defeat able to save Liverpool is 5-4. Kapiche?

15:28

Evening all, and welcome to Red Bull Salzburg (yeah, I know) v Liverpool!
