You would have expected it would be Dortmund who would emerge the better team for the start of the second, but it's actually Zenit who are pressing to score the next goal.

How has that not gone in?! Zenit have the Dortmund goal under siege at the start of the second half, with Burki called upon to make a couple save. Azmoun should have found the net from close range!

Sancho was out on the pitch warming up during the half time break. However, there is no sign of the England international for the start of the second half. A little strange!

What did you make of the first half? Does Favre need to make changes to his Borussia Dortmund side to turn around this game? If so what changes should he make? Tweet me!

HALF TIME: Zenit St Petersburg 1-0 Borussia Dortmund. The Bundesliga side were building up a head of steam towards the end of the half there, but it's the Russians who have the lead.

Off the post! Inches away from being an equaliser right on the stroke of half time! Reus got his shot away from 18 yards out, but his effort comes back off the inside of the far post!

Bellingham should have scored! That was a good chance for Dortmund to find the back of the net! Schulz's cross into the middle found Bellingham, but the teenager heads over the crossbar from eight yards out!

Can Borussia Dortmund find an equaliser before the break? They have struggled to create opportunities, but they have great attacking quality on the pitch. Need to do more with it.

Zenit are doing a better job of keeping the ball in the opposition half. They have been emboldened by the goal. They have grown into the game after starting rather slowly.

Another group update...

Azmoun has looked very dangerous for Zenit so far this evening. He has struggled for goals recently, but has already found the back of the net against Borussia Dortmund.

Favre will want to see much more from his side in the second half, and before half time as well. Dortmund have been pretty toothless. Have they even tested the Zenit goalkeeper, Kerzhakov?

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.... NO! Zenit think they have scored for a second time, with Azmoun breaking in behind and rounding Burki to finish, but the flag was up for offside! Correct decision!

Favre does have options on the bench should he need them in the second half. The obvious one is Sancho, but Reyna has also been in good form recently for the Bundesliga side.
31'
Borussia Dortmund have been the more threatening of the two teams, and they have seen more of the ball, but it's not as if they have created loads of scoring opportunities.

Some of Zenit's treatment of Borussia Dortmund in this first half has been quite rough. Is that a strategy from them? It appears to be working at the moment. Zenit have the advantage.
