Bayern Munich v RB Salzburg live updates - Julian Nagelsmann's side breeze through to quarter-finals

Look away now, Salzburg fans. Here's our take on a game which was, it's fair to say, quite one-sided.

It's not often a team scores seven in the last 16 of the Champions League, but Bayern have managed it. Lewandowski, Sane and Muller, in particular, were superb, orchestrating an attacking masterclass which left Salzburg shattered.

It's an absolute thrashing, this. Lewandowski turns provider, finding Sane on the overlap and watching on as his team-mate smashes a shot into the roof of the net.

Just when it looked like Salzburg might save some face, Muller adds a sixth after some nice interplay with Sane.

Aaronson creates another half-chance for the visitors, who have benefitted from the spate of substitutions. Bayern seem to have lost their rhythm a little.

Salzburg pull one back, Aaronson bursting forwards and moving the ball on to Kjaergaard who, from a tight angle, squeezes a shot into the top corner. It's not a bad finish, that, especially given he's only 18.

Oh, another substitution is it? Jaissle swaps Camara for Samson Tijani.

It's a substitution-fest now, with Coman, Musiala and Niklas Sule coming off for Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Marc Roca and Tanguy Nianzou.

Jaissle has switched up his forward line, with Benjamin Sesko coming on for Adeyemi.

Coman wins a free kick from Camara in a promising position. Sane lets Lewandowski take it, but his effort sails over the crossbar.

It's getting embarrassing for Salzburg, this. After a period of total dominance for Bayern, Sane sets up Muller to thrash a shot past Kohn from the edge of the area.

Muller creates another opportunity for Lewandowski, whose shot is deflected just wide by Wober.

Gnabry has come off for Bayern, replaced by Bouna Sarr. Salzburg have made two changes, Seiwald and Oumar Solet swapping out for Luka Sucic and Kamil Piatkowski respectively.

There's no other way to say this: Salzburg have been absolutely battered in the first half. Bayern may not have been at their best in recent weeks, but this is some return to form.
