FULL-TIME!

Manchester City are through to the Champions League knockout stages as Group A winners after producing an entertaining 2-1 win over Paris Saint-Germain. Kylian Mbappe's ninth goal of the season on his 50th Champions League appearance fired the visitors into a surprise lead early in the second half before Raheem Sterling levelled in the 63rd minute. After Neymar missed a golden chance to put PSG back in front, substitute Gabriel Jesus finished off a fine team move to seal the win for City.

THREE minutes of added time. A long ball from Neymar looking for Di Maria flies out for a goal-kick.

PSG still have time for an equaliser but there is no urgency from them. They almost look happy to settle for this defeat.

PSG have no response for City. Sergio Ramos is warming up on the touchline and you wonder if he could have helped make a difference this evening.

Cancelo attempts to slide Jesus in but Marquinhos blocks him off. City have looked superb going forward this evening and could be in a greater lead if not for PSG's fine defending which you cannot always say about the Ligue 1 club.

HUGE MISS! Neymar should have scored! Neymar plays a brilliant one-two with Di Maria and he gets a shot away inside the box, but as he attempts to slide it by Ederson into the bottom corner it rolls wide of the post!

Tensions are boiling over as Mahrez and Neymar and Mahrez get into a war of words. It's all because of a challenge on Herrera which sees him on the floor with what appears to be a leg injury. Moments before that Paredes clattered in Mahrez which may explain the anger from the City player.

HALF-TIME!

It's been an entertaining first half and City should really be in front, but PSG have defended valiantly and have blocked six of the hosts' shots. The best chance landed to Gundogan who struck the post but we go into the break goalless. Second half coming up!

45'

Sterling has a hopeful shot on goal but it's one of frustration as he lashes it wildly over the bar.

44'

CHANCE! PSG break at lightning speed and Neymar feeds Mbappe on the left flank, but he gets his shot all wrong and curls it well over the bar!

43'

PSG are really struggling to even get out of their own half. Rodri's pass almost finds Cancelo inside the box but Hakimi intercepts before he can get to it.

41'

Messi is down holding his face after being caught by Cancelo. There did not look to be a great deal of intent from the Portugal international and boos ring around the Etihad. The Argentine is back on his feet now and we play on.

39'

Cancelo wins a corner off Marquinhos and City have their sixth corner. Referee Orsato blows for a foul on Gueye by Stones.

38'

PSG cannot keep hold of the ball at all right now and surely it's only a matter of time before City take the lead. Never write off PSG's threat on the counter-attack, though...

Man City PSG
36'

Sterling wriggles away from Hakimi and pulls it back for Gundogan, but his shot is blocked by Kimpembe! That's six blocked shots for City already this evening!

34'

SAVE! Mahrez cuts inside and has a low shot which Navas parries behind for a City corner! City are looking very dangerous right now.

33'

OFF THE POST! Cancelo's cross deflects off Mendes at the far post and it lands at the feet of Gundogan who looks to curl it into the bottom corner, but it clatters off the outside of the post! Huge let-off for PSG!

32'

Silva's cross deflects off Herrera and it takes all power out of it, meaning Navas can comfortably claim it at the near post.

30'

In the other Group A match this evening, RB Leipzig are already 3-0 up against Club Brugge which means as it stands Man City and PSG will both qualify for the knockout stages.

Neymar (L) and Rodri (R)
28'

CRUCIAL BLOCK! Zinchenko has a go inside the PSG box with a first-time shot, but Marquinhos makes a hugely important block to deny City again!

27'

SHOT! Mendes drives forward, cuts onto his right boot and fires a shot off his weaker foot, but it rolls into the grateful arms of Ederson.

25'

City look far more comfortable in possession than PSG this evening.Cancelo's cross looking for Silva in the area is caught by Navas. There have already been plenty of early crosses into the box from City this evening.

Man City PSG
23'

Mbappe is down in some pain after colliding with Rodri. He gets up and is limping but the 22-year-old looks like he will be able to shake this off.

22'

Zinchenko's dangerous cross looking for Silva is headed clear by Kimpembe who is facing his own goal! That was an awkward but important clearance made by the France international.

20'

Mahrez's early ball into the box is flicked on by Gundogan but it's just too high for Silva at the far post! City are starting to ramp up the pressure...

17'

BIG CHANCE! Mahrez curls a shot on goal from inside the box which looks destined for the top corner but Hakimi gets in the way and heads it over the bar! Gundogan's corner finds Dias in the box but he heads over the bar.

16'

SAVE! By Ederson to deny Mendes from close-range on the rebound. But Neymar was offside when he picked the ball up on the edge of the box and fired a shot on goal.

15'

Kimpembe is caught in possession but Paredes helps out his team-mate and produces a vital tackle. PSG have already shown lapses of concentration on the ball in this opening quarter hour and City look ready to pounce at any given moment.

13'

This is already looking like we should be in for a great game. Both sides are moving the ball at frightening speed and it is like watching basketball at times. Mahrez goes down in the box but it is an excellent interception from Mendes.

11'

Silva's cross into the box finds Sterling but Hakimi can clear before he can properly control it. Mbappe storms up the pitch on the counter-atack and feeds it to Messi. He combines with Neymar before Rodri makes a vital interception to break up the attack.

Leo Messi (PSG) y Rodri (Manchester City)
9'

Neymar's shot outside the box is blocked by Stones. That was better from PSG who have already shown signs they will threaten on the counter-attack.

7'

PSG are starting to play some football of their own but Herrera gives it away to Silva. Zinchenko looks set to pull the trigger outside the box on the break but Paredes pinches it off him. Tonight is only Zinchenko's sixth appearance for City this season.

5'

OFF THE LINE! A City free-kick into the box is headed across goal by Rodri before Kimpembe, who is running towards goal, heads it off the line! The following corner comes to nothing.

4'

City have ten men in the PSG half and the visitors are having to soak this up for now. Pochettino's side are struggling to retain the ball which has been a consistent theme this season.

2'

So it appears City are playing a back four. Cancelo is at left-back with Zinchenko starting in central midfield. Sterling is playing on the left wing with Silva through the middle and Mahrez on the right flank. City have had nearly all of the ball so far.

A point for Manchester City tonight and they go through to the knockout stages. For Paris Saint-Germain, a win will see them seal their place in the next round. Both sides are desperate to win the Champions League this season and we should be in for a cracker at the Etihad Stadium this evening!

Another significant piece of team news this evening is Sergio Ramos (remember him?) is on the bench for PSG. He is yet to make his debut for the Ligue 1 club due a persistent calf problem. His last competitive match was for Real Madrid against Chelsea in the Champions League quarter-finals on May 5.

It's not been plain sailing for PSG in the Champions League. Two wins and two draws is perhaps not the form you'd expect from one of the favourites to win the entire competition. However, they produced a fine 2-0 win over City on Matchday 2 on September 28 so will feel confident of staking their claim as group winners this evening.

Mauricio Pochettino has responded to speculation he is interested in the Manchester United managerial vacancy. "Well, I don't understand," he told reporters in his pre-match press conference. "I think I was clear. I said to you that... I said to you all, my contract is 2023. This season and one season more. I don't say nothing different. And then, I am really happy in Paris Saint-Germain, that is a fact. It's not a thing to think or to... the fact is I am happy in Paris."

Verratti and Wijnaldum are both missing for PSG due to injury so it means starting spots for Paredes and Herrera in midfield. Mbappe has passed a late fitness test and will continue in the MNM front three. Messi and Mbappe both scored in PSG's 3-1 win over Nantes on Saturday.
