I did not see that Brugge goal coming and nor did City, who've been as dominant as any team can ever be. As it goes, Brugge have done pretty well in limiting chances, but had mustered no serious attack before mustering the serious attack from which they scored.

Lovely from City, Cancelo finding Grealish, who slides a perfect pass back into his stride and he's in! He could take it closer but opts to chip the keeper ... only to clatter the far post!

Mechele rolls back to Mignolet, who takes tiiiiime with his clearance and ends up having to Cruyff turn away from the scavenging Foden. Nicely done.

Grealish weaves forward and finds Cancelo, whose shot is blocked, looping up towards the far post where Gundogan lurks! But from five yards, he can only put his volley wide of the near post!

Brugge win a corner! I know! Nothing comes of it.

In Germany, Leipzig have taken the lead against Paris. I don't think they can get enough points to qualify, so that's good for City - and for Brugge if they're still hoping to get through, but bad if they're planning for the Europa.

Cancelo dips inside Vormer onto his right foot and lofts a pass over the top for Foden, who watches it come over his shoulder. But Mechele does just enough to put him off, and the eventuating shot goes wide.

The cross beats the men in the box but Mahrez collects the loose ball and City beginagain.

Foden just looks incredible on the ball, like it's part of his body, and he eases forward before spreading wide, eventually receiving a pass slid into his stride by Grealish. He turns into a cross, which is deflected behind.

Brugge need to find themselves an out-ball.

Nsoki gives it away to Mahrez just outside the box, and though he's crowded it Sobol then gives the ball straight to Grealish and off we go again. It's basically attack v defence.

Gundogan tries to pick a pass through to Bernardo, hitting the line down the left, but he can't quite catch up with the ball.

Walker hammers a long one up to Foden. Good luck with that, old mate.

Already, the Brugge box is ringfenced, and when they try to counter, Mahrez intercepts a pass immediately and City construct another attack, Foden finding Bernardo whose thumping shot is blocked at source.

Cancelo finds Grealish, who takes on Mata ... but he stands up well to see the City man away.

Lots of empty seats at the Eithad, which tells you the tickets are too expensive. Clubs should be fined for that, because they should be round schools on the day of the game giving them out for nowt.
