I should also note that Stones makes his first Champions League start of the season. I'm going to be real with you: I don't think he's all that. He's nice enough on the ball, but the list of top-class, elite-level, unathletic centre-backs is very short - arguably, it comprises F. Baresi and no one else. It can work with City because they have so much of the ball, but any proper striker would fancy getting him one on one.

Brugge currently sit second in the Belgian league, two points off the top. They leave out Bas Dost, their centre-forward, who's on the bench, along with Alvarez; Rits and Nsoki come in.

City fans - and payers - will be delighted to have Gundogan back. He was superb during the incredible winning run that saw them settle last season's title, though a midfield of him, Rodri and Bernardo looks a little one-paced. I guess the full-backs, along with Foden as a false nine, make that less of an issue, but you can see them getting out-muscled by a more athletic side at some point.

City make three changes from their weekend defeat to Palace: Dias, De Bruyne and Jesus drop out, with Stones, Gundogan and Mahrez coming in.

Let's have some teams...

When the groups were drawn, this looked like a toughie. But Leipzig's miserable performance means that City and Paris are nailed on for the last 16, and if City win tonight they'll need just a point from their final two matches to progress. But Brugge, though City gubbed them two weeks ago, are no mugs - they won in Germany and drew in Paris - so while it'd be unsurprising to see them battered again, on a good day they can make this a difficutl night.
