Former Arsenal and Barcelona striker Thierry Henry is reportedly set to take over as manager at Aston Villa with former Chelsea captain John Terry as his assistant.
Villa sacked Steve Bruce on Wednesday after one win in their last nine matches and according to a report from the Daily Mail both Henry and Terry interviewed for the role.
Henry, 41, was reportedly chosen as the manager due to his greater experience as Roberto Martinez's assistant manager with Belgium.
Terry, 37, who nearly captained Villa to Premier League promotion last season, was chosen as the No 2 due to his knowledge of the squad and has recently coached Chelsea's U19s.
He left Villa following the expiration of his contract and is still a free agent having turned down a move to Spartak Moscow.
If the pair are appointed their first game in charge will be a home clash with Swansea City on October 20 after the international break.
