Wang, who plays for Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG, was caught on video pulling a necklace out of his socks and wearing it after coming on as a second-half substitute in China's 1-0 win over Myanmar.
SIPG, who are currently atop the Chinese top-flight standings, have handed the 29-year-old a fine of 20,000 yuan ($3,125.40).
The South China Morning Post said that Wang's harsh punishment comes as a result of the full back breaching the rules set by world soccer's governing body FIFA and the International Football Association Board (IFAB).
The Asian Cup will be held from Jan. 5 to Feb. 1, 2019 in the United Arab Emirates.
