The Club World Cup final of 2021, being played in February 2022, is under way.

The losing semi-finalists met each other earlier today, with Al Ahly hammering Al Hilal 4-0. Yasser Ibrahim scored twice; Ahmed Abdel Kader and Amr El Solia got the other goals.

Both teams joined the competition at the semi-final stage. And though this was the final we all expected, Chelsea and Palmeiras had to work pretty hard to get here. Romelu Lukaku's goal gave Chelsea a 1-0 win over Al-Hilal, while Palmeiras beat Al Ahly 2-0 thanks to Raphael Veiga and Dudu.

In the last 25 years, Chelsea have won five league titles, two Champions Leagues, a Europa League, a Cup Winners' Cup, seven FA Cups, four League Cups, two Super Cups and three Community Shields. Tonight they hope to add the Club World Cup to the list.

This is Chelsea's second appearance in the Club World Cup final. They lost 1-0 to another Brazilian side, Corinthians, in 2012. That was the last time - and the only time since 2006 - that the Club World Cup was won by a non-European team.

There's plenty of other live football this afternoon, including a remarkable game in the Bundesliga. The current world champions, Bayern Munich, were losing 4-1 to Bochum at half-time.
