Steven Reid's first career move after retiring from playing his summer will see him join the backroom staff at Reading.
The former Blackburn, West Brom and Burnley defender, 34, has linked up with his old Baggies boss Steve Clarke, who is now the manager with the Royals, and will become the club's first-team coach.
Vastly-experienced goalkeeper Dave Beasant has been brought in to train the team's stoppers and Eamonn Dolan will revert back to his role as the head of Reading's academy.
Clarke told the club's official website: "Steven Reid is someone that I came across at West Brom where he was a valued senior member of my playing staff and immediately I could see that he had the right temperament and characteristics to be a successful coach.
"Kevin Keen has been by my side for a few seasons and we thought that it would be good for us to alter the dynamic of the coaching staff with a younger coach. Steven will bring a hunger, freshness and enthusiasm to the club that I feel is needed."
