Comprehensive from Guardiola's City side. They look to be in great shape ahead of the new season. For Chelsea, there is still a lot of work to be done. Sarri hasn't been able to make his stamp on this team and they came up well short against the Premier League champions.

- End of 2nd Half
FULL TIME: Chelsea 0-2 Manchester City. MAN CITY HAVE WON THE 2018 COMMUNITY SHIELD!
HOW DIDN'T THAT GO IN? Looked for all the world to be a third City goal. Bernardo looked to have an open net to aim for, but Rudiger manages to deflect the strike wide.
This has been impressive from Man City. On this basis, they are still very much the team to be caught at the top of the Premier League. They will be the ones setting the standard.
Willian has struggled to make much of an impression since coming off the bench for Chelsea. Of course, there is still speculation that he could leave the club this coming week.
Four minutes of stoppage time to be played at the end of the match.
BRAVO COMES OUT! Chance for Chelsea as Barkley plays the ball across the box for Abraham. Bravo comes out and does just enough to make sure the ball stays out of his net. Just.
- OffAymeric LaporteManchester City
- OnNicolás OtamendiManchester City
Guardiola decides not to take a risk on the fitness of Laporte, and Otamendi comes on.
And with this stop in the play, the Chelsea supporters take the opportunity to leave. Thousands of fan are now streaming out of the national stadium, with this game already decided.
LAPORTE DOWN! This could be a concern for Guardiola. Laporte has hit the ground and now seems to be receiving some treatment for a knock. City will need him to be fit this season.
DIAZ GETS THE SHOT AWAY! It's the Manchester City youngster who once again looks to test Caballero, but this time the Chelsea goalkeeper gets down well to make the save.
- OffSergio AgüeroManchester City
- OnVincent KompanyManchester City
And this is a welcome sight for City fans. Kompany is also coming off the bench.
- OnVictor MosesChelsea
Moses comes on to replace Pedro for Chelsea in these final 10 minutes.
CHANCE FOR DIAZ! That was an opportunity for Diaz to find the net. He jinked past Alonso with a drop of the shoulder, but he couldn't squeeze the shot past Caballero from a tight angle.
It's still all Man City, even at this late stage of the match. Sarri will have a lot of thinking to do after this game. The Premier League champions have been dominant throughout.
That was a very impressive performance from Foden. The youngster has a very bright future ahead of him. Guardiola will surely use him more often this season. Looks ready to step up.
- OffPhil FodenManchester City
- OnBrahim DíazManchester City
Indeed, here's the change and Foden comes off to be replaced by Diaz.
Looks like City are about to make another change here. Foden is receiving some treatment for cramp on the pitch, but Diaz has been called to the touchline by Guardiola.
AGUERO WAS FREE! That might have been the hat-trick for Aguero. Chelsea left him free at the back post, but Caballero managed to make the save from the striker's volleyed strike!
FODEN HEADER! The young Englishman very nearly managed to squeeze in a header at the back post. Foden managed to lose his marker from a freekick, but Willian makes the block.
Guardiola will surely be pleased with what Mahrez gave him this afternoon. You can see why he was so keen to sign the Algerian. Sterling might have a fight on his hands to keep his place.
- OffÁlvaro MorataChelsea
- OnTammy AbrahamChelsea
And a change for Chelsea as well, with Abraham coming on for the Blues.
- OffRiyad MahrezManchester City
- OnGabriel JesusManchester City
Another change for Man City and it's Mahrez who comes off for Jesus.
THAT WAS CLOSE! Chelsea's high line was very nearly caught out there. Aguero thought he was in, but the flag was up for offside on the far side. Replays show it was close.
MAHREZ CAN HIT THEM! That was a half chance for Mahrez. He was set up for the shot about 20 yards out, but Caballero watched it all the way as the ball was lashed past his near post.
PEDRO WIDE! Well, it wasn't the best of efforts on goal, but at least Pedro tried to make something happen. He created the space for himself, but scuffed his shot wide of the goal.
Just imagine this Man City team, but with Silva and De Bruyne back in the lineup. In terms of personnel, is this the strongest squad we have ever seen in the Premier League era?
This has been a comprehensive display from Manchester City. Keep in mind that they are also missing some of their best players, but the depth in their squad has shone through.
- OffCesc FàbregasChelsea
- OnDanny DrinkwaterChelsea
... and Drinkwater is on for Chelsea as well. They'll want him to control things in the middle better.
- OffCallum Hudson-OdoiChelsea
A couple of changes for Chelsea after that second goal. Willian comes on...
Once again, that was just too easy for City. They found it too easy to get to the edge of the opposition box and once they got there it was easy for them to play the ball in behind.
- GoalSergio AgüeroManchester City
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Chelsea 0 Manchester City 2 (58 mins - Sergio Aguero). It's another for Man City and it's another for Aguero! Great little ball from Bernardo to release the Argentinean striker in behind the Chelsea defence and he made no mistake with a first-time finish on the swivel.
Fabregas has been very quiet for Chelsea so far this afternoon. There have been questions over whether the Spaniard would be able to play the kind of football Sarri wants.
Mahrez now seems to have drifted out to the left hand side. He was out on the right hand side for the first half, but now he seems to have swapped with Bernardo these past few minutes.
Chelsea made a good start to the second half, but they have fallen into their old ways again. Manchester City are just finding it too easy to pass the ball around the centre of the pitch.
Foden has been excellent for Man City this afternoon. This time the youngster gets a shot away on the Chelsea goal, but Caballero has it covered. Nice try from Foden, there.
There's more urgency to Chelsea's play at the start of this second half, but that might well leave space in behind for Man City to exploit, as we saw with that Aguero chance there.
INTO THE SIDE NETTING! Big, big chances for Aguero! He was played clean in, he had all the time in the world, decided to round Caballero, but from a tight angle he his the side netting.
Bernardo was brilliant for Man City in the first half, but the Portuguese international has now been shifted out to the right side after the withdrawal of Sane at the half time break.
AGUERO DRIVES FORWARD! Another loose pass from Jorginho gives Aguero the chance to run at the Chelsea defence, but he drags his rather tame effort wide of the far post.
- OffLeroy SanéManchester City
- OnIlkay GündoganManchester City
City have made a change at the half time break and it's Gundogan who comes on for Sane.
- 2nd Half
The second half is under way! Manchester City have a 1-0 lead over Chelsea.
What did you make of the first half? Encouraging for Manchester City? Does Guardiola need to make any changes? What about Sarri? Should he be worried by what he has seen? Tweet me!
- End of 1st Half
HALF TIME: Chelsea 0-1 Manchester City. Aguero's goal is the difference between the two sides at the half time interval and they probably deserve to be ahead. They have been the better side.
ALMOST A BRAVO BLUNDER! We've seen that before! Bravo completely misjudges the bounce of a long ball forward, almost allowing Morata through. He retrieves the ball before it goes out.
Two minutes of stoppage time to be played at the end of the first half.
Mahrez has the beating of Alonso, creating the space for the cross with a nice piece of skill. But the Algerian gets the cross wrong and clips the ball into the hands of Caballero.
Walker does well that time. Hudson-Odoi tried to knock the ball past the Man City full back, but Walker outpaces the Chelsea winger, gets back and makes the clearance.
It still seems that Sarri is finding out his best Chelsea team. Of course, he's still missing some of his best players and he was only appointed at Stamford Bridge just a few weeks ago.
This has the feel of a pre-season friendly, but every so often both teams burst into life. There has been some entertainment on offer, in between the slightly dull periods of play.
Hudson-Odoi has probably been Chelsea's most dangerous player so far this afternoon. The youngster has the beating of Walker, who doesn't know whether to follow him when he cuts inside.
Chelsea have looked so open every time Man City have hit out on the counter attack. Mahrez is finding himself in so much space every single time. City are using him a lot.
POOR TOUCH! Mahrez should have done better there. The Algerian found himself in so much space to receive the pass from Bernardo, but his touch allowed Luiz to make the tackle.
There seems to be quite a few empty seats at the national stadium for this one. Big expanse of red seats visible in the top tier. Chelsea and City fans not feeling the Community Shield?
GOOD CHANCE! It all opened up for Hudson-Odoi! He surged forward, the space opened up for him, but the teenager's shot is straight at Bravo in the Man City goal, Might have done better.
Mendy has been very good in this first half. City managed to cope without the Frenchman last season, but you can see how he might help them take that next step.
HUDSON-ODOI OVER! That was a decent try from the youngster! Hudson-Odoi creates the space for the shot about 20 yards out, but he can only lash his effort wide of the far post.
This is a little better from Chelsea now. They have gathered themselves after losing that opening goal, but they are struggling to make the ball stick in the final third of the pitch.
DRINKS BREAK! The two teams are going to take on some water here now. It's very warm in London this afternoon and so the referee has stopped play for a quick drinks break.
WELL WIDE! Morata cut inside off the left side, taking the shot on his right foot. But there was no real guile to the effort from the Chelsea striker and the ball flashes well wide of the target.
CHANCE FOR SANE! A loose pass from Jorginho allows Aguero to nip and play the pass out to Sane, who had space to run into. His touch was too strong, though, and Caballero comes off his line to smother.
Mahrez is seeing plenty of the ball out on the right side in the early stages of this match. Might the Algerian dislodge Sterling from the starting lineup at the Etihad this season?
After a very strong start to the match by City, there's a sense that they are taking a bit of a break now. They seem quite happy to sit back and let Chelsea have the ball for a bit.
The centre back pairing of Luiz and Rudiger doesn't look the best for Chelsea. They are struggling to play out from the back and that is hindering Chelsea's play further up the pitch.
Without Kante in the middle of the pitch, Chelsea look lightweight in the face of this possession from Man City. It's too easy for players like Foden to cut through them at will.
Both first choice goalkeepers are missing for these teams this afternoon. Bravo is in goals for Man City and Chelsea are without Courtois, whose future is still up in the air. Caballero plays instead.
How will Chelsea respond to losing that opening goal? They have been second best in the early stages of this match. They are struggling to keep position high up the pitch.
Well, that was easy. Foden just had so much space to gallop into. Chelsea backed off and backed off the youngster as he ran at them. They really needed to close down the playmaker.
- GoalSergio AgüeroManchester City
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Chelsea 0 Manchester City 1 (13 mins - Sergio Aguero). The opener falls for the Premier League champions! Foden ran with the ball at his feet all the way to the edge of the Chelsea penalty box, passing to Aguero, who dragged the ball on to his left foot and found the bottom corner of the net with a low finish.
City look great down the right side of the pitch. Mahrez gives them something different out there. The Algerian has the ability to cut inside and offer another goal threat for City. Gulp.
It's fair to say that Manchester City have started the better of the two teams here. They are the ones dominating the ball. Chelsea are having to do their best on the counter attack.
This will be a big season for Barkley. He failed to make an impression in the second half of last season after joining Chelsea from Everton. His career is at risk of fizzling out.
There's a start for Foden this afternoon. Most expect the teenager to feature more regularly for Manchester City this season. He's the brightest young English talent since Rooney, apparently.
BERNARDO TO THE BYLINE! There were no takers in the middle. Bernardo got to the box and cut back a cross into the centre of the box, but the pass managed to evade everyone.
It's good to see Mendy back in the Man City team. Of course, he returned for the final game of the season before the summer, but the Frenchman spent much of the campaign out injured.
SANE... WIDE! Another early opportunity for Man City, with Mendy surging forward before playing the ball to Sane. The German lashes his low shot across the face of goal, though.
FIRST MAHREZ CHANCE! City work the ball out to Mahrez on the right side, who has space to gallop into. However, Luiz makes the block from the former Leicester City player.
So here we go. The traditional curtain raiser of the English football season is under way. We'll find out a lot about both these sides this afternoon. This should be a good one.
- 1st Half
The match is under way at Wembley! It's Chelsea against Manchester City in the Community Shield!
The Community Shield is often maligned, but there's a lot to look forward to here. Chelsea and City have picked strong teams and will be looking to make an early impression in the season.
Both managers have picked a strong team for this Community Shield game. Hudson-Odoi has been selected by Sarri after what has been an impressive pre-season from the youngster.
Man City set new records in the Premier League last season. Can they match that level again this season? Or will their focus be more on the Champions League? That's the primary objective for Guardiola, after all.
This will be the first real sign of how Chelsea will fare under new manager Sarri. They took longer than expected to install the former Napoli boss, but now he is charged with sparking a revolution.
Both these sides have had their transfer struggles this season. In fact, City's primary struggle was in failing to sign Jorginho, who ultimately decided to join Sarri at Chelsea instead.
I'm Graham Ruthven and you can catch me on Twitter ahead of the match to let me know your thoughts. Can Chelsea get close to Man City this season? Will Guardiola's side get even better? Tweet me!
