Barcelona ease into the quarter-finals of the Copa Del Rey, and in this form they must be considered favourites to win the competition. Messi was impressive - as he always is - but Munir will take most positives from this match, scoring twice. Maybe this display will spark his season into life.

Messi is really unhappy with some of the officiating in this game tonight. He has been on the end of some rough treatment from Espanyol. Alvaro has been a bit of a bruiser.

Just as happened at the end of the opening 45 minutes, the heat of this match is cranking up towards the end of the half. Both sets of players are nipping away at each other.

Messi has gone down in the Espanyol half and the home side are guilted into kicking the ball out of play by the Barcelona players. That was a crunching tackle on him by Alvaro.

This has been a generally impressive display from Barcelona, who are winning this match with something of a second string lineup. Espanyol haven't really come that close.

If Espanyol are going to draw level in this second leg, I get the feeling that in one way or another it will come through Caicedo. He's been the only one to cause Barcelona problems.

I don't think there was any intent from Mascherano in that last incident. He stood down on Alvaro's leg as he landed from a leap, but he was looking at the ball the whole time. Accidental.

THIS COULD BE A PROBLEM! Alvaro has gone down in the Barcelona penalty area after what looked to be a stamp on the back of the leg from Mascherano. Was it intentional though?

Do Espanyol have anything left to give? Are they really that bothered about taking something from this second leg? It doesn't seem like it. They are second best all over the pitch.

Vidal sees a yellow card for challenge on Ciani, but that's not really the kind of impression I was talking about. There wasn't much in that, though. Soft booking for him.
