Real Madrid eased into the next round of the Copa del Rey with a 6-1 win (13-2 on aggregate) win over Cultural Leonesa as Enzo Zidane scored on his debut for the club.
The 21-year-old was introduced in the second half and took just a matter of minutes to find the net with his father and club manager Zinedine Zidane watching from the touchline. There was also a first senior start for Martin Odegaard, with Mariano Diaz bagging a hat-trick on a rare start.

James Rodriguez and Isco started, with Casemiro also playing the full 90 minutes as Zidane tested his fitness ahead of the weekend’s crunch Clasico clash against Barcelona. The Brazilian lasted and will stand a chance of making the game.
This was a straightforward test for Real Madrid on the whole, but nonetheless their young players demonstrated that they can handle the pressure of competitive action. This surely won’t be the last we see of both Enzo Zidane and Odegaard.

TALKING POINT

Is Enzo Zidane Real Madrid’s next star in waiting? There was plenty for the fans leaving the Santiago Bernabeu to discuss after full time, but Enzo Zidane grabbed the headlines for himself by scoring just minutes after coming on for his Real Madrid debut. The 21-year-old impressed in the second half, with Martin Odegaard also showing glimpses of his ability on his senior debut for the club. So does Enzo stand any chance of emulating his father? On this basis it’s unlikely, but not impossible.

MAN OF THE MATCH

Dani Carvajal (Real Madrid) - The full back was given the freedom of the right wing throughout the game and he made the most of it. Dani Carvajal was the star man for Real Madrid as one of the few experienced figures in their starting lineup, putting on two assists for Mariano. He only lasted until half time as Zidane looked to rest him ahead of the Clasico, but he’d already made an impact by then.

KEY MOMENTS

1’ GOAL! Real Madrid 1-0 Leonesa: Real Madrid have the lead after just 40 seconds. Asensio made the most of some slack defending by the away team, setting up Mariano for a tap in to make it 1-0.
16’ RULED OUT! There’s the second goal. It was all too easy for Real Madrid. Carvajal worked his way into the penalty area and squared for Mariano, who had the simple task of finishing from close range. WAIT! It's been ruled for offside. That was a late, late flag from the linesman.
24’ GOAL! Real Madrid 2-0 Leonesa: There's the second goal of the night for Real Madrid. Carvajal sent a wonderful cross into the area from the right wing and James headed home from close range.
42’ GOAL! Real Madrid 3-0 Leonesa: It's Mariano again! Real Madrid are completely out of sight here. Carvajal set up the striker, who made no mistake from a tight angle, smashing a finish high into the net.
45’ GOAL! Real Madrid 3-1 Leonesa: What a sensational strike! And it was out of completely nothing. He smashed it home from the best part of 25 yards. A consolation goal for them to cling to.
56’ JUST PAST THE POST! That wasn't too far away from Odegaard. He set up the shooting chance for himself on the edge of the box, but flashed his effort past the post.
63’ GOAL! Real Madrid 4-1 Leonesa: Enzo Zidane has just scored for Real Madrid on his debut! An excellent finish from the youngster. He found the bottom corner with a wonderful reverse shot..

89’ GOAL! Real Madrid 5-1 Leonesa: Mariano has his hat-trick! He has been exceptional as the central striker for Real Madrid tonight. He got on the end of a cross to head home from close range.
90’ GOAL! Real Madrid 6-1 Leonesa: There's another goal for the home side. I think it was Asensio who put the cross into the danger area and a Leonesa defender stuck out a leg to send it into his own net.
