Full Time

Inter full value for victory in this dramatic match. Ibrahimovic's sending off the crucial turning point. Thanks for following the game with us.

GOAL FOR INTER! Eriksen curls a free kick brilliantly over the wall and into the right hand top corner.

Young comes on for Kolarov.

Lukaku shoots from the left hand side of the box but drags his effort wide of the far post.

Great save! Tatarusanu denies Lukaku. Martinez dummies to Lukaku and the two then exchange passes before the big man guides with his right boot towards the corner but the Milan keeper saved brilliantly diving to his left.

Martinez through on goal bit Tatarusanu blocked his shot diving to his left.

Eriksen on for Brozovic.

Vidal pulls his effort just wide of the goal from inside the area.

Leao and Saelemaekers coming off for Milan. Replaced by Krunic and Castillejo.

Sanchez pulls back for Hakimi who shoots at goal but the Milan keeper holds diving to his right.

Sanchez puts the ball across the box and de Vrij couldn't get a good contact on his shot and then Lukaku challenges for a ball with Tatarusanu with his arm outstretched. He good have joined his mate Ibrahimovic off the field.

We've had a five minute delay while changing refs.

The referee has come off with a tight hamstring. It's all happening as Bill Lawry would say.

GOAL! Lukaku puts it home off the underside of the crossbar, cancelling out his nemesis' opener.

PENALTY! The referee looks at the television and gives a spot kick.

Barella goes down under Leao's sliding challenge in the box. The referee waves away the appeals.

Perisic heads just over the bar heading over a fine cross from Barella. He had to score that.

Rebic did indeed get a yellow card for that incident. Quite right too. Seems that Zlatan's red was a second yellow too.

Rebic catches Borello with a pretty nasty shoulder in an aerial contest. Should have gone in the book for that. As it is it's a free kick in a central area 25 yards from goal.

Rebic comes on for Diaz as Pioli looks to rearrange his side to hold onto the lead.

RED CARD! Ibrahimovic is off. He clipped Kolarov who was bringing the ball out from defence. Kolarov made the most of it. He got a yellow card with the incident with Lukaku. The referee just seemed to brandish the red, rather than two yellows interestingly.

Vidal ghosts into his box and meets Sanchez's cross but it flies over the bar.

Hakimi is causing danger down the right hand side, Borello plays it wide to him and his drive into the box is backheeled by Lukaku but his effort is blocked by Romagnoli.

Brozovic picks up a yellow card to stop Leao getting away on the break.

Hakimi, who has come on for Darmian, pulls a ball back from the by-line that Sanchez hits first time but Tatarusanu pushes the effort away.

Kolarov hits a curling effort from the left edge of the box but it is too close to the Milan keeper who easily tips over.

All Inter at the start of this game. Lukaku pulls the ball back to the edge of the box looking for Sanchez but is dispossessed.

Perisic puts a cross into the box but too close to Tatarasanu who gathers comfortably.

Milan get us back underway. Lukaku seems to have calmed down. Replays suggest Zlatan said: "Go and do your rubbish (he didn't say rubbish) music, you donkey."

Half Time

Ibrahimovic has put Milan in front at half time but the bigger story could be what he said to Lukaku. It has him absolutely furious and numerous Inter players needed to stop him going after Ibrahimovic as they go down the tunnel.

Ibrahimovic clears the free kick and Brozovic gets good contact on a volley which flashes just wide of the target.

Lukaku frustrated at some of the challenges he's getting from the Milan defenders and gets up to square up to Romagnoli. Pushing in the area as players look to keep Zlatan and Lukaku apart. Both get yellow cards.

Inter really have lost their way since the goal.

Replays suggest the header from Sanchez hit Hernandez's hip. He did well to move his arm behind him and get something legal on the ball.

Blocked on the line! Perisic clips a ball from the left wing and Sanchez heads at goal. It is blocked by Hernandez who had his hands by his side. VAR checked but no penalty despite Inter claims.

GOAL FOR MILAN! It's that man Zlatan again. A poor free kick into the box and then Leao heads it back to him in the right hand side of the penalty area, he made some room for himself and aimed his shot past Handanovic and it deflected off the post and in.

Hernandez runs well running fully 50 yards down the wing and then inviting a push from Brozovic to give his side a free kick just in from the corner flag.

Dalot puts the ball into the box but there is no clear header and Handanovic claims easily.

Diaz gets brought down giving Milan a free kick 35 yards from goal.

Inter appeal for a penalty against Leao but he was very close to the ball and hands by his side. Rightly turned down. Inter having he best of it though.

Good save! Darmian cuts in from the right and feeds Lukaku who does what he does so well, feels the defender behind him and then turn him and get a shot away but Tatarusanu stretches his left foot out and stops his strike.

Sanchez moves the ball wide to Darmian who whips in a low cross that Lukaku just cannot divert towards goal with an outstretched leg.

Bad few minutes for Kjaer, he seems to have hurt his hamstring and Tomori, just signed on-loan from Chelsea, is coming on for him.

Sanchez has Kjaer beaten on the right wing and the Dane fouls him picking up a yellow card.

Borello backheeled to Skriniar who puts in an outswinging cross that Tatarusanu comes out to gather.

So close to an opener. Leao puts in a great inswinging cross from the left that Ibrahimovic rises to beat two men to and Diaz just missed connecting with the ball which itself was a yard away from going in the far post.

Borello puts in a decent cross that Dalot clears well under pressure.

Both sides looking to hit on the counter attack but falling short in the final third thus far.

Perisic gets into the box and puts a dangerous cross in that Kjaer heads away in front of Lukaku.

Nice move from Milan and Leao has a ping from the edge of the box and his effort just a yard wide of the Inter goal

Inter get us underway.

Inter two points behind Milan who are top of Serie A. Both would exchange a win for one in their next game on February 21. Perhaps it will mean this game is more open.

The last time these two met it was dat man Zlatan, the Inter hero biting the hand that fed him for so long, bagging a brace to give Milan a victory after four straight defeats.

Inter in contrast are less depleted. Their changes from the 0-0 draw at Udinese are Aleksandr Kolarov coming in for Alessandro Bastoni, Matteo Darmian coming in for fellow ex-Red Devil Ashley Young, Ivan Perisic replacing Achraf Hakimi (likely pushing Nicolo Barella wide) and Alexis Sanchez in place of Lautaro Martinez being perhaps the most potential game-changing,.

Back to the present day and Stefano Piolo is without the suspended Gianluigi Donnarumma, while Covid has sidelined Matteo Gabbia, Ismael Bennacer and Hakan Calhanoglu, and Pierre Kalulu and Sandro Tonali are injured. He has also opted to rest goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and Davide Calibria.

Nice to line these guys up and play who would you pick first in the playground or draft.

I go Ronaldo first, but reckon at least six of the next seven would be AC Milan choices in Van Basten, Baresi, Maldini, Kaka, Gullit and Shevchenko - squeezing Matthaus somewhere in there perhaps.

A strange derby when you think of the players who have represented both. Keepers are a bit hard to find but here's an outfield side of those who donned both stripes: Panucci, Helveg, Bonucci, Coco; Seedorf, Pirlo, Viera; Baggio; Ronaldo, Ibrahimovic. And no room for talents like Davids, Vieri or Crespo.

Milan's main man in attack today is Zlatan Ibrahimovic. It gives us an excuse to show this video of when he was playing for Inter and entranced by matching up against his hero, the original Ronaldo, then playing for AC Milan, but previously a hero at Inter of course. It's complicated...but the video's nice.

And this is how AC Milan are lining up...

This is how Inter Milan will line up tonight.
