Defender Davies commits to Preston

Defender Ben Davies has signed a new three-and-a-half-year deal at Preston, the Sky Bet Championship side have announced.

The 22-year-old had two years left on his current deal but after impressing this season, the club have moved quickly to tie him down to a longer contract.

“I only just recently signed a new contract and to have the club come back and reward me again for my performances this season, I am over the moon.” Davies told the club’s official website.

Manager Alex Neil added: “It’s reward for all of the effort and the quality that he has shown this year. He’s broken into the team and has been a key performer for us.”
