Italy have reached six European Championships in a row since missing the 1992 competition. The Azzurri have only ever failed to qualify from a group on two occasions - 1996 and 2004.

PREVIOUS: The nations last met in November 2015. Antonio Candreva gave Italy an early lead but Belgium responded through Jan Vertonghen, Kevin de Bruyne and Michy Batshuayi to clinch a 3-1 friendly win.

The Italians won the Euros back in 1968 and have been losing finalists twice in 2000 and 2012. Belgium reached the final of Euro 1980, where they lost 2-1 to West Germany in Rome.
