CRISTIANO RONALDO LIFTS THE EURO 2016 TROPHY! Portugal are champions of Europe for the first time!

The Portuguese players have received their medals, and wait expectantly for Cristiano Ronaldo to lift the trophy.

Fernando Santos leads Portugal up - Ronaldo's knee is now heavily strapped and he can barely make it up there... but it's not like anyone will be stopping him.

Deschamps collects a chrome plaque, and looks just as emotionally shattered as his players.

France go up disconsolately for their medals. Koscielny and Pogba among those to take them off straight away. Devastated.

Up go the officials to collect their medals - a disappointingly quiet performance from Mark Clattenburg, who did well.

Here's the moment of glory for Portugal... and of desolation for France.

Hosts France are beaten in extra time by Eder's long range drive. Portugal win their first major tournament despite the early injury to Ronaldo.

It drops to Martial... his volley is blocked and the flag is up. Portugal have surely done it now!
