Just wide! Moreno decides to keep his shot low as he curls it around the wall but it drifts agonisingly wide of Szczesny's far post.

Free-kick! Olmo races infield and is fouled by Glik right on the edge of the penalty area. This is another chance for Spain, can they double their advantage?

Poland must now score at least twice to have any chance of keeping their last-16 hopes alive. Puchacz races down the left but Rodri tracks him all the way and wins it back for Spain.

GOAL! Spain 1-0 Poland (Alvaro Morata): The Juventus forward silences his critics to give Spain the lead! Moreno checks in from the right flank and scuffs his shot, but it falls kindly for Morata, who slots it home with a predator's finish from point-blank range. The offside flag goes up immediately and Spain think the goal is chalked off, but VAR has a quick look and overrules the decision. So Spain are ahead!

Spain win their third corner of the evening but again it's played short and again it ends in frustration.

A scramble ensues from Spain's corner, Bednarek wins a vital header and Rodri misses the connection from the loose ball. Lewandowski races forward as Poland break but he's quickly crowded out and loses out to Laporte.

Last-ditch defending required from Bednarek as he clears Morata's looped effort out for another corner.

Spain win the first corner of the game. It's taken short to Koke who finally delivers the cross but Glik wins the defensive header to clear.

Morata and Moreno try a clever one-two but the move collapses and Poland break, but a poor pass allows Spain to recover possession.

Very poor from Pau Torres, who shoots well wide with a weak effort from distance. A defender's finish. Spain haven't got going yet.

Jozwiak feels he's fouled by Olmo, who steals the ball from the full-back on the left flank. But the referee allows play to continue as the Spanish wideman carves in and drills a low shot from the edge of the penalty area which is a comfortable save for Szczesny.

Poland are playing with a really high line, putting the Spanish defence under pressure and penning their opponents inside their own half. Luis Enrique has plenty to think about.

Just over! Simon in the Spanish goal is scrambling as Klich unloads a shot from distance. There's plenty of pace and movement on the ball but it lands on the roof of the net.

Puchacz wins a free-kick in midfield for Poland, who have started with real intensity and energy.

It has been a bright start from Poland.

No penalty! Spain give the ball away in a dangerous position, on the right flank. Zielinksi drives into the box and takes a tumble under pressure from Morata right in front of the referee, who draws the whistle to his mouth but opts not to give Poland an early spot-kick.
