In terms of the group, it's tightknit stuff between these two teams. Ukraine sit second on goals scored, but both sit on a goal difference of 0 and points tallies of 3, after defeats to Holland and victories over North Macedonia.

Austria, on the other hand, seem to be in a 4-3-3/4-3-2-1 shape, but that could easily change, as in their last two group games, they've fielded a back three with starlet and captain David Alaba at the heart of it; acting as the libero, given the freedom to roam into midfield and beyond to affect the game as the talisman. Hoffenheim's playmaker Florian Grillitsch comes into the side in the middle of the park, flanked by Konrad Laimer and Xavier Schlager, with Marcel Sabitzer and Christoph Baumgartner roaming behind the lone striker Marko Arnautovic, who returns after a game's suspension. Stefan Lainer and Alaba seem to be the full-backs in a back four, flanking Martin Hinteregger and Aleksandar Dragovic, but expect to see a fluid system, with either Lainer tucking in, Grillitsch dropping deeper, or Alaba orchestrating from his defensive half.

Ukraine are in their 4-3-3 shape, with standout players Vitalii Mykolenko, centre forward Roman Yaremchuk and Andriy Yarkmolenko all in from the start, with Manchester City midfielder Olexandr Zinchenko off the left of the trio in the engine room. Serhiy Sydorchuk will sit and protect the back four, with number 10 Mykola Shaparenko the legs off the right, supporting Yarmolenko in the half spaces. Yaremchuk will act as the focal point up front, supported by Atalanta midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi, with Zinchenko and the Atalanta man often swapping positions to confuse oppositions and add more creativity either in the deeper or in the more advanced areas of the attacking half.
