Varane aims a cross to the back post for Kurzawa's post, but it's put behind for another corner. It's cleared, and it comes back to Kurzawa about 35 yards out, who lifts a great free kick to Matuidi - in acres of space - and he uses the side of his face to put it wide from close range.

Mbappe sends a great return pass down the line for Pavard, sprinting 40 yards ahead of him, but his low pass inside towards Giroud is cut out - corner on the right.
Here's a second. #Stats

France push up on the left, but Iceland repel them into playing back and to the right.
Giroud is released behind the defence and while he looks in huge amounts of space, that's because he's offside.
Apparently France are wearing vintage shirts. And because it is on Twitter I can embed it, thereby increasing the enjoyment you get from reading this blog.

Iceland are struggling to even leather the ball away when France close in on them near the penalty box.

The match gets underway.
Just before kick off, please tweet in with your thoughts about the proposed buyback from Biogen. Seems a daft idea to me, but am open to other thoughts.
Please send your truly vital thoughts to me on @lxndrnthrtn, at least as a sign of life for any concerned family members.
Kingsley Coman is dropping out after pulling out of the first eleven in that last match. Deschamps had this to say earlier: "It's unfortunate for him. He is obviously sad. I am not worried. It's not a big injury. He has already had two bigger injuries to his ankle and then his body has compensated. This time it's a back issue which brings a little tug on his buttock and thigh. He left us sad this afternoon. He was already sad he was not able to play in Moldova as was planned. He will take care of himself. He is still young but obviously his repeated injuries are not ideal. But he has quality and he is strong mentally, so I hope he would be spared [of injuries] in the future."
Iceland are treading water a tad since they bodied Old England, but there's enough quality should France not take them seriously.
France have - I think - the same team that beat Moldova on Friday. They took a while to crank into gear then but they were in control throughout.
