FULL-TIME

That's it! England have won and in the process broken their record for goals scored in a qualifying campaign with 37. They had qualified before tonight and progress straight to the finals; Kosovo still have a chance to make it via the play-offs.

90+1'

GOAL! England 4 (Mount 90+1) Kosovo 0

Another one! Dresevic slips on the edge of the Kosovo area, which gifts the ball to Kane. He finds Mount in acres of space in the area, who calmly slts the ball into the bottom corner.

90'

There will be two additional minutes.

87'

A lovely diagonal ball from Kane finds Rashford in space on the right. He drives into the area, beating one defender before losing it to another as a shooting chance looked on.

84'

Tomori replaces Alexander-Arnold for England.

83'

GOAL! England 3 (Rashford 83) Kosovo 0

All of a sudden England are out of sight. Sterling gets the ball near the centre-circle and drives hard at the Kosovo defence. He lays it off to Rashford just inside the area on the left, who sweeps the ball imperiously into the bottom corner.

82'

Rashani replaces Nuhiu for Kosovo.

81'

Two more looks in quick succession for Kane; he just fails to connect with a cross, before seconds later his shot is deflected out for a corner.

79'

GOAL! England 2 (Kane 79) Kosovo 0

That could be the game! Sterling gets the ball on the right, jinks pasr Rashica and drills a low cross into the area. Aliti gets a toe on it, the ball loops to the back post and Kane is there to half-volley the ball into the net.

76'

CHANCE! Kosovo break quickly and suddenly Rashica latches on to a pass from Halimi. Pope slips as he comes out but Rice gets across to snuff out the danger and put it out for a corner.

74'

England have a four on four break, but Winks can't connect properly with his lofted pass to Kane and Kosovo clear. That was a poor choice of pass.

73'

Mount replaces Oxlade-Chamberlain for England, while Zhegrova comes on for Hadergjonaj for Kosovo.

72'

Mason Mount is imminent for England, who haven't really clicked in midfield tonight.

69'

A sensational first time ball from Halimi releases Hadergjonaj down the right. He takes it into the England area but can only hit a tame shot straight at Pope.

67'

Rashford has been lively since his introduction, and beats two Kosovo defenders down the left as he cuts into the penalty area. He dithers over his shot though, and is robbed of the ball before he can shoot.

65'

A change for Kosovo, as Berisha departs and is replaced by Halimi.

63'

Kane gets Sterling free on the right of the Kosovo area. He tries to cut inside and shoot, but is robbed by a brilliant sliding challenge from Aliti.

62'

OFF THE POST! Rashford and Chilwell combine brilliantly down the right, and the latter's shot is well saved by Muric. The ball comes out to Sterling; he cuts it back to Kane, who wallops his first time shot against the post and out from eight yards.

59'

Hudson-Odoi leads break down the left, and cuts in to the edge of the Kosovo area before firing his shot over the bar. It's his last action, as he's replaced by Rashford.

56'

Chilwell overhits his free-kick to the back post and it goes out for a goal kick.

55'

Sterling and Kane, who have been quiet, link up well on the break and Sterling wins a free-kick on the left for England.

53'

Berisha's corner finds Rrahmani free at the back post, but he miscues his header completely and it drifts harmlessly away from goal.

53'

Kosovo win another corner down the right. They've started this second half well.

50'

CLOSE! A corner from Celina flies out to Berisha on the edge of the area. He fires a first time shot with his left foot, that glances the head of Rrahmani and flies just wide.

49'

Alexander-Arnold whips it in to the area, but it's too close to Murcic who gathers comfortably.

48'

Kolloli is booked for hauling down Sterling, free-kick to England.

47'

Protracted keep ball from England to start the second half. as they work it painfully slowly back and forth across the back four.

2ND HALF

We're underway again!

HT

That's all for the first half, England take a 1-0 lead into the break.

44'

Celina's corner is cleared by England. He gets the ball back and tries to play a crafty through pass inside Sterling, who reads it well and ushers the ball out for a goal kick.

43'

More careless play from England as Mings puts a routine pass to Pope out for a corner kick.

42'

England might be on top but they've been sloppy in midfield. Kosovo win back another loose ball and set about England quickly, working the ball to Celina on the edge of the area. He sets himself but can only lift his shot high over he bar.

40'

A slight lull now, the goal has just taken the edge out of proceedings.

37'

Winks whips a low cross into the area which Aliti clears.

35'

Winks is lucky to escape a booking for pulling back Celina.

32'

GOAL! England 1 (Winks 32) Kosovo 0

England take the lead! It was so simple. Oxlade-Chamberlain gets between the lines of Kosovo's defence and midfield before reversing a pass to Winks near the area. Winks wrongfoots the Kosovo defence by bursting straight into the area, and he's one on one with Murica. He calmly sits the goalkeeper down before tucking his shot into the corner.

30'

Hudson-Odoi carves out a half chance, winding his way from left to right across the Kosovan area before hitting a weak shot at Murica.

29'

Kololli cuts in from the left and into the England area. Sterling clipped him as he went through, which could easily have been a penalty had Kololli gone down, but he stayed on his feet.

26'

Kololli has a go from distance now, which is even more ambitious. His 40 yard effort floats about a yard high and wide; Pope would have covered it easily.

24'

A sighter for Rashica, who gets the ball in space just outside the England area. He launches a dipping shot at goal, which bounces once and then into the clutches of Pope.

22'

England briefly look in trouble when Rice plays a ball to Maguire at the back. Despite being under pressure in their own area England manage to work the ball out and transfer it at lightning speed up the field, before the move breaks down as Alexander-Arnold mishits a chipped through ball to Sterling.

20'

Oxlade-Chamberlain dishes it out in return now, bringing down Aliti who'd fouled him a few minutes ago.

18'

Hadergjonaj has a run at Chilwell near the right of England's area, but his cross is blocked and ricochets back of his legs to go out for a goal kick.

15'

CHANCE! Chilwell opens his legs down the left, getting all the way to the area and cutting it back for Kane. The England captain lays it off to Sterling, who takes a touch and shoots from the edge of the area. Muric saves it well and Kosovo clear the ball for a corner.

14'

England are settling into possession here, meandering across the pitch without really threatening. Sterling gets the ball on the right after good, aggressive play by Winks, but his cross to the back post is overhit.

11'

Oxlade-Chamberlain takes another lump, and wins the free-kick for England. He lofts it into the Kosovo area but Muric rises high and gathers the ball.

10'

It might be small but the Fadil Vokrri Stadium certainly generates an atmosphere; it's crackling in Pristina tonight.

7'

CHANCE! Berisha gets into some space on the left, and whips a cross into the area. Nuhui gets up to head the ball from six yards out but can't get any power on it, and the ball loops into the hands of Pope.

5'

Winks lunges at a loose ball and misses, bringing down Berisha in the process. Free-kick to Kosovo, with Winks a little lucky not to be booked.

2'

Oxlade-Chamberlain caught one on the ankle there from Berisha. He's down in agony for a brief spell before hobbling back into action.

1'

Hadergjonaj cuts in from the right to have an early yahoo at goal from twenty yards, but doesn't catch it and the ball dribbles through to Pope.

KICK OFF

We're underway!

16:56

The anthems are completed, it's almost time to go.

16:55

The captains Amir Rrahmani and Harry Kane are now in the tunnel, ready to lead out the teams. The referee this evening is Pawel Gil from Poland.

16:54

They may have already qualified, but this evening could be an interesting bellwether for England ahead of the European Championship next year. When the two teams played in September England were all over the place defensively, making the same kind of errors that undid them in the Nations League finals in Portugal in the summer. It's that area that England need to address urgently if they are to be a viable contender to win the tournament next summer.

16:47

The England squad and fans have had quite a greeting in Kosovo, where this fixture means a little more than just three points in a qualifying match. There’s a fine piece from the Guardian’s Nick Ames below explaining the background.

16:44

This is the second time the two teams have faced each other; if we get a game anything like the quality of the first match in Southampton in September, we’ll be rich in luck indeed. England just about won a riotously enjoyable tussle 5-3 where they conceded a goal in the opening 60 seconds and Harry Kane missed a penalty.

16:40

Tonight is the 1001st international match contested by England. Three days ago, in the 1000th, England secured qualification to Euro 2020 with a 7-0 victory over Montenegro at Wembley. That will be a top-and-tailed home tournament for England, with their group games at the national stadium and the semi-finals and final to be staged there too. Gareth Southgate’s team have been devastating in qualifying so far; can they round out the group with a win here to send them into Euro 2020 with wind in their sails?

16:36

What a series of qualifiers this has been for Kosovo. Their first meaningful internationals came in qualifying for the 2018 World Cup; they finished bottom of their group after drawing one game and losing nine. In this campaign they’ve had some landmark moments – a 2-1 victory over the Czech Republic in Pristina was the standout, and they are currently assured of third place and guaranteed to advance to the play-offs. Their manager, the charmingly avuncular Bernard Challandes from Switzerland, has done a fine job since taking over in 2018.

16:30

England have made five changes from to their team from Thursday. Nick Pope gets a run out in goal ahead of Jordan Pickford, while Tyrone Mings replaces John Stones at centre-half. Declan Rice returns to midfield as Mason Mount sits this one out, while Callum Hudson-Odoi slots in up front in place of Jadon Sancho. Raheem Sterling, controversially dropped last week after his scuffle with Joe Gomez, is also back and Marcus Rashford drops to the bench.

16:24

Kosovo come into tonight’s game after a narrow 2-1 defeat in Plzen to the Czech Republic in which they’d taken the lead early in the second half. Sheffield Wednesday striker Atdhe Nuhui scored their goal, and will be the focal point of their attack. Supplying him from midfield will be Lazio’s Valon Berisha, who scored twice when the two sides met in September.
