PENALTY SCORED! Serbia 2-2 Scotland - unlucky for Marshall, who gets a hand to Jovic's shot, but the ball ends up in the back of the net!
PENALTY SCORED! Serbia 1-2 Scotland - two out of two for Scotland, with McGregor beating Rajkovic!
PENALTY SCORED! Serbia 1-1 Scotland - that is how to take a spot kick as Tadic sends his effort down the middle!
PENALTY SCORED! Serbia 0-1 Scotland - Rajkovic went the right way, but there was enough in Griffiths' spot kick to find the back of the net!
FULL TIME IN ET: Serbia 1-1 Scotland
There will be one minute of stoppage time played at the end of extra time.
Mitrovic fouls McTominay in the middle trying to get on the end of a cross and Scotland survive. Have they earned themselves a shootout? Is this playoff final going to come down to penalties?
- OffStephen O'DonnellScotland
- OnLeigh GriffithsScotland
Finally, there's the change for Scotland and it's Griffiths who comes on for O'Donnell. Paterson to right back.
Still no sign of Armstrong or Griffiths for Scotland. Surely Clarke has to be thinking about throwing at least one of them on? Even if it's just for the penalty shootout? Surely?!!
Five minutes until we reach a penalty shootout. Is that how this match is destined to be decided? It feels like Scotland are holding on for that now. They are creating very little.
Shot on goal! Space opened up for Katai to get the shot away on goal, but the effort was straight at Marshall and the Scotland goalkeeper holds on to the ball. Decent opportunity.
This is slightly better from Scotland. They are at least enjoying some possession, but there's just no way to get out. McBurnie is totally isolated. Not sure what role Paterson is playing.
Nine minutes until a penalty shootout. Can either of these two sides find a winner before then? Serbia look the most likely to find the back of the net again. Scotland are pegged in.
Scotland believe they should have been awarded a freekick on the edge of the box for what they saw as a foul on O'Donnell, but Lahoz doesn't agree. That did look like a foul.
Serbia have undoubtedly been the better team in the extra time period. Scotland just don't have a way to get out. Armstrong and Griffiths are on the bench. Surely you'd put one of them on?
It feels like Scotland are holding on for a penalty shootout here. That's how they got through the playoff semi final against Israel and that's what might get them through here.
The second half of extra time is under way! It's still 1-1 in this Euro 2020 playoff final between Serbia and Scotland
HALF TIME IN ET: Serbia 1-1 Scotland
Katai takes on the shot! Nobody in blue closes down the Serbian player as he strides to the edge of the penalty box, but Katai sends his shot wide of the far post. Marshall probably had it covered.
It's difficult to stress enough just how much Dykes going off has changed things for Scotland. McBurnie and Paterson just can't offer the outlet like he did. Scotland missing him.
The scoreline is level, but Scotland almost seem beaten here. They have lost so much momentum from that late equaliser. Serbia on top and it feels like a goal is coming.
Scotland just don't have a way out at the moment. Dykes, Christie and McGinn gave them a way to get up the pitch, but all three players have since been withdrawn by Clarke.
This was the equaliser...
What a save! A corner kick is partially cleared to the edge of the box, Gudelj unleashes a powerful strike, but Marshall makes the diving save to tip the ball around the post. That was close.
The dynamic of this match has changed now. Scotland are looking ragged at the back. Serbia are on top and are looking more and more dangerous in the final third of the pitch.
McBurnie needs to do better. The ball simply bounces off the Sheffield United forward when the pass comes into him. Those were the sort of balls Dykes was absorbing.
Scotland, of course, have a track record of conceding late goals and suffering heartbreak, but that one stings even more than most. They were 150 seconds away from qualification.
Shot from distance! O'Donnell very nearly caught Rajkovic with a shot from outside the box, but the Serbian goalkeeper makes the save, tipping the ball over his own crossbar.
So how will Scotland pick themselves up after that late equaliser? They have been the better team, but there's no doubt the players will still be thinking about how close they were.
The first period of extra time is under way! It's 1-1 between Serbia and Scotland in this Euro 2020 playoff final.
- End of 2nd Half
FULL TIME: Serbia 1-1 Scotland.
We're going to extra time
There will be two minutes of stoppage time played at the end of the match.
- GoalLuka JovicSerbia
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Serbia 1 Scotland 1 (90 mins - Luka Jovic). It's a late, late, late equaliser! Heartbreak for Scotland! Jovic gets on the end of a corner kick delivery into the middle, he heads down into the ground and the ball bounces back up and into the top corner of Marshall's net! Are we heading for extra time?
- OffRyan ChristieScotland
- OnCallum PatersonScotland
A third Scotland change and it's the goalscorer who comes off. Replaced by Paterson.
This is it for Scotland now. Serbia are well on top. It's dominance from the home side. Can Scotland hold firm? The hosts now have Mitrovic AND Jovic to hit with crosses into the box.
Huge chance for Jovic! For the first time, Serbia win a header from a cross into the middle! It was Jovic who got on the end of the delivery, but his header flashes just wide of the near post! Marshall was beaten!
- OffJohn McGinnScotland
- OnKenny McLeanScotland
... and the second change sees McLean replace McGinn for the final five minutes.
- OffLyndon DykesScotland
- OnOliver McBurnieScotland
Finally, a couple changes for Scotland. On comes McBurnie for Dykes...
Gallagher is touch tight! The cross comes into the near post, Mitrovic was on the prowl, but the Scotland defender was strong, kept his eye on the ball and made the headed clearance.
It feels like now might be the time for Clarke to make some changes. Scotland are looking increasinly weary. Serbia are seeing more and more of the ball. Some fresh legs needed.
The risk for Scotland here is that they slip too deep and invite too much pressure on top of themselves. Make no mistake, though, Clarke's side are now soaking up and playing on the break.
Mitrovic heads wide! The Serbian striker wins a header inside the Scotland area, but Marshall was always confident it was heading wide, and he was right. The away side survive again.
- OffSergej Milinkovic-SavicSerbia
- OnAleksandar KataiSerbia
Katai also comes off the bench for the home side. It's do or die for Serbia now.
- OffNemanja MaksimovicSerbia
- OnLuka JovicSerbia
Here comes the calavry for Serbia, with Jovic coming off the bench for the final 15 minutes.
He was quiet in the first half, but Christie has really come on to a game in the second half. He's the one making things happen for Scotland. The Celtic man can smell a second goal.
Mayhem in the box! Christie's freekick delivery into the middle isn't dealt with by Serbia, the ball bounced around the box, but the scrambled clearance is eventually made for a corner.
So close to a second! Christie has the Serbian defence on the run. He cuts inside on to his right foot and takes aim, but the shot flashes just wide of the far post. That looked in all the way!
Into the side netting! Serbia take a quick freekick and Scotland are caught slight cold. Milinkovic-Savic gets his head on the end of the cross, but it's into the side netting and Scotland survive!
MCGREGOR... just wide! Just for a moment it seemed that the ball would end up in the back of the Serbian net for a second time, but McGregor's shot from outside the box flashes wide.
Dare I say it, but Serbia almost look like a beaten team here. Of course, there's plenty time for them to turn things around, but there's no real sign of a fightback at the moment.
Just over 20 minutes to go and this is looking very good for Scotland. They are in control. In fact, if another goal is to be scored here you'd put money on it being a Scotland goal.
When will Clarke make changes here? Does he dare make changes? This system is working. The players on the pitch are playing well. How long can they last, though?
The thing about Christie was that before the goal we hadn't seen much from him. He'd been pretty absent from Scotland's attacking play. But as I have said a few times, he makes things happen.
Scotland are playing this match perfectly. They deserve to be ahead. They look the more assured of the two teams, but what will Serbia throw at them in the final 25 minutes?
- OffFilip KosticSerbia
- OnFilip MladenovicSerbia
It should be noted that Serbia introduced Mladenovic to try and change the game a few moments ago.
McTominay rises highest! The Manchester United midfielder meets the Christie corner kick delivery into the box, but that was never going to be enough to beat Rajkovic in goals.
PICTURE: Scotland have the lead in Belgrade
Dykes is starting to look a bit weary. That's a concern for Clarke. The QPR frontman has been excellent this evening. He has been so important to getting Scotland up the pitch.
It must be said, even though Scotland are inviting pressure on top of themselves, they look to be in control. Serbia are playing crosses into the middle, but Scotland are handling them.
All of a sudden, there's a response from Serbia. They are on top now as Scotland slip a little bit deeper having taken the lead. Is this wise from them? Can they hold out for 30 minutes?
PICTURE: Dykes has played well
Serbia surely have to change something here. It's not happening for them. They haven't been able to expose the Scotland defence, with the exception of that chance for Lukic.
Scotland have been the better team here, but they had struggled to create opportunities in the first half. That's why Christie is so important. He is one of the players who can make something happen.
- GoalRyan ChristieScotland
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Serbia 0 Scotland 1 (52 mins - Ryan Christie). Scotland have scored! It's in the back of the net! Christie takes the shot from 20 yards out and beats Rajkovic off the inside of the post! An excellent reverse finish from the Scotland attacker! What a massive, massive goal that could be!
What a chance! That should have been the opener for Scotland! Dykes held it up on the edge of the box, waited and set up Robertson only for the left back to blast his shot waaaay over the bar!
- Yellow cardNemanja GudeljSerbia
It should be noted that Gudelj was booked for his tackle on McGinn. It was a bad one.
McGinn wins a freekick high up the pitch, but the delivery from Christie is poor and Serbia survive. Scotland need better from Christie. He's so important to the way they play.
Clarke surely praised his players in the dressing room at half time for the way they played the opening 45 minutes, but Scotland need to start creating some opportunities.
The second half is under way! It's still 0-0 between Serbia and Scotland in this Euro 2020 playoff final.
What did you make of the first half? Are Scotland doing enough in the final third? Have you been surprised by how Serbia have played so far? How do you see this going? Tweet me!
- End of 1st Half
HALF TIME: Serbia 0-0 Scotland. The half time whistle blows in Belgrade and Clarke will be relatively pleased with what he has seen from his side so far. Need to create more chances, though.
- Yellow cardDeclan GallagherScotland
Gallagher becomes the first Scotland player to be booked for a foul on Milinkovic-Savic.
Tierney bursts into the box! The Scotland defender makes a great run into the penalty area, plays a low ball into the middle, but a Serbian player got there first and it bounces back to the goalkeeper, Rajkovic.
Dykes is winning everything in the air. Serbia just don't know how to handle him. Where the plan is falling down is in the lack of support Scotland are providing the QPR frontman.
McGinn isn't happy! The Scotland midfielder rolls Gudelj as he breaks into the ball, but the freekick is awarded and McGinn isn't happy. Fair to say the Serbian defender got away with one.
One wonders if this is the sort of game Clarke was expecting before kick off. Had he watched enough of Serbia's recent matches to know they would play on the counter attack?
Now it's Serbia's turn to dominate the ball, with Scotland sitting back and inviting pressure on top of themselves while they stay organised. Two well-matched teams so far.
A lot of slipping out there...
Christie has looked bright when Scotland have managed to get him the ball, but that has been all too rare. The Celtic man is capable of making something happen out of nothing.
After a bright start by Scotland, it's starting to feel like they are going back into their shell. They are, however, still doing a good job at the back. Plenty of organisation.
McGinn is so central to the way this Scotland team plays. He's the one who drives them through the centre of the pitch. His goalscoring record at international level is also very good.
McGinn gets the shot away! Christie prods the pass through to McGinn with the Serbian defence all over the place, but the Aston Villa's shot is saved by Rajkovic. Not enough on the effort.
The referee is having a word with Dykes for a foul committed on the edge of the Serbian box. Lahoz is known for being card-happy, but the Spanish official has only handed out one yellow so far.
Clarke can be pretty pleased with what he has seen from his team so far. This is the sort of match Scotland would have been hoping for. They are keeping it tight and well-organised.
Gallagher wins the header! Serbia play the cross to the front post for Mitrovic to attack, but Gallagher did well to get there first and make sure the Fulham man doesn't win the ball.
It's been a bit more even in the last 10 minutes or so. Serbia have settled into the game and are seeing more of the ball. Both teams looking a bit edgy in the final third of the pitch.
Gallagher has his hands full with Mitrovic this evening. He is Scotland's best header of the ball and so it's up to him to make sure the Fulham striker doesn't have too much freedom in the air.
That was a warning sign for Scotland. Yes, they have started this match well, but Serbia have the quality to make the most of their opportunities. That was the best chance so far.
Inches wide! That's the closest we have come to an opening goal! Mitrovic holds up a ball into the box and sets up Lukic outside the box, but the midfielder's shot flashes just past Marshall's left-hand post!
Good play from Dykes. He was surrounded by Serbian players, three of them, but he had the presence of mind to drive it down the line and then play for the throw-in to move Scotland forward.
Milinkovic-Savic to the byline! The pass was played in behind the Scotland defence, but Gallagher had it covered and the Motherwell defender does well to shephard it out of play.
The risk for Scotland is that they become a bit too reliant on Dykes to win balls in the air and get a bit lazy in their build up play. A few too many passes into the QPR targetman.
Already feels a bit like this...
A bit better from Serbia, with Tadic driving the ball up the pitch. But Scotland survive and they will take great confidence from that. They are certainly the more settled of the two sides.
Good recovery from Robertson. The Scotland captain looked to be slightly out of position when the pass was played down the channel for Lazovic, but he made the clearance.
PICTURE: In the Serbian rain
It must be said, this has been a really decent start from Scotland. They have comfortably been the better team. Serbia have barely had a touch of the ball. They have barely been out of their own half.
I mentioned Serbia's poor home form earlier. Well, Scotland are currently on an eight-game unbeaten run. A win tonight would make it nine in a row. Clarke's side have been building momentum.
- Yellow cardNikola MilenkovicSerbia
It should be noted that Milenkovic was booked for his foul on McGinn a few moments ago.
Shot on target! McGinn wins a freekick high up the pitch. Christie takes it, his shot was on target, but the long range effort never truly had the power to beat Rajkovic in the Serbian goal.
Christie needs to make sure he gets as close to Dykes as possible this evening. That's what Fraser did really well in the game against Czech Republic, but the Newcastle man is injured for this one.
Scotland have certainly been the more proactive of the two teams so far. Mitrovic has barely had a touch of the ball with Serbia pretty much playing entirely inside their own half.
Cross into the middle! O'Donnell gets down the right side and plays a ball into the Serbian box. Dykes was up, but he couldn't make a connection and the cross bounces past McGinn.
All Scotland fans tonight...
There is certainly plenty encouragement for Scotland to take from Serbia's home record. It's been over a year since they won a home match... and that was a narrow 3-2 win over Luxembourg!
It's the away side seeing the majority of the ball in these early exchanges. It's almost as if Scotland are a bit surprised by that. Serbia have been quite happy to stand off them so far.
This back three system worked so well for Scotland in the wins over Slovakia and Czech Republic last month, but there are questions over Tierney in this formation. Can he hold his own in the air?
Robertson plays a long pass up to Dykes, but it's too strong for the Queens Park Rangers frontman and the ball bounces through to Rajkovic. Dykes is the man to hit for Scotland.
What sort of match will we get this evening? Serbia are a team who like to play crosses and balls into the box for Mitrovic to attack. How will Scotland's back three cope with that?
- 1st Half
The match is under way! It's Serbia against Scotland in this Euro 2020 playoff final!
Okay, here we go. We are just moments away from kick off in Belgrade. Kick off is coming up. Massive game!
Serbia haven't qualified for the European Championships since they gained independence as a country, but they did play at the 2018 World Cup.
Scotland will be hoping for a tight game. That's where they have been successful in recent matches under Clarke.
The two teams are out on the pitch in Belgrade. Anthem time. Feels a bit hollow without any fans there, it has to be said.
Scotland earned their place in the playoff final with a semi final victory over Israel last month. Clarke's men had to go to a penalty shootout to win that one. Another shootout this evening?
Of course, Serbia also have quality. A lot of it. Tadic will lead the line for the home side with Milinkovic-Savic the main man in the midfield. He scored two goals in the playoff semi final win over Norway.
I'm Graham Ruthven and you can catch me on Twitter ahead of the match to let me know your thoughts. Is tonight the night Scotland actually do it? Who are the main men for Serbia? Tweet me!
Tierney starts! The Arsenal man is on the left side of the back three. That's the position Considine played so well in against Slovakia and Czech Republic, but the Aberdeen defender has to make do with a place on the bench.
TEAM NEWS: Serbia - Rajkovic, Milenkovic, S. Mitrovic, Gudelj, Lazovic, Kostic, Maksimovic, Lukic, Sergej, Tadic, Mitrovic. /// Scotland - Marshall, O'Donnell, Robertson, McTominay, Gallagher, Tierney, McGinn, Jack, Dykes, McGregor, Christie.
