That's it, full time. Slovakia surround the referee after they are given no corner at the death after they appear to win on. Rusnak is booked for dissent, and there's probably a few more of those to come.
Hennessey claims a cross in, and now that should be it. Time to waste, er, time.
- Yellow cardMiroslav StochSlovakia
Duris is penalised for handling the ball on the edge of the box, and Stoch then gets booked for sheer anger after he wanted a foul awarded against Joe Allen's excellent sliding tackle on him a moment earlier.
Davies clearly has a shot blocked and it spins out for a corner, but the officials somehow award a goal kick.
There will be five minutes of added time, unless there is further disruption.
- OffPeter PekaríkSlovakia
- OnPavol ŠafrankoSlovakia
Safranko on for Pekarik.
Kucka reaches a loose, bouncing ball in the box and he smacks it miles over.
Wilson off, Vaulks on.
- Yellow cardMarek HamšíkSlovakia
Hamsik gets booked as tempers start to go radge.
Oh my days. Hennessey pulls off an outstanding save after a cross in from the right for Duris, pushing it away, it comes out to Hancko, and instead of forcing in the equaliser he collapses on the ball and Wales get it away.
Hennessey is on hand to pick up a long ball. and that allows Wales to bring it forward into Slovakia's half before losing it.
Wilson comes on after a few seconds of treatment. He definitely did not do that in order to run down the clock, obviously.
Wales are sitting back now, so get into some squeaky bum trousers.
Lobotka fouls Bale 40 yards from goal, allowing them to run down the clock just a tad longer.
A decent spell for Wales sees them send in some rubbish crosses. That doesn't matter, so much, as the ball being the Slovakia half does. Wilson meets a Bale cross from the left at the back post, and smashes it at the near post for Dubravka to save.
- OffDaniel JamesWales
- OnAshley WilliamsWales
Roberts wins a foul high up the pitch on the right. Williams comes on for James, now, as Wales look set to drop back for the rest of the match.
Roberts jinks into the box and is blocked off from putting in a cross after his pass is blocked and then comes back off his heel.
- OffRóbert MakSlovakia
- OnMiroslav StochSlovakia
Stoch on for Mak.
- Yellow cardMichal DurišSlovakia
Duris is booked for that foul on Lawrence earlier.
James breaks down the left, finds Bale, who overruns it as he tries to get into the box. Duris will be booked for a wild old hack at the start of that move, you'd expect.
Mak cuts onto his right foot as he attacks from the left, and he drills in a shot at the near post that goes straight into Hennessey's chest.
- OffOndrej DudaSlovakia
- OnMichal DurišSlovakia
Duris on for Duda.
Hennessey and Wales eff about with short passes in the box and almost lose it just outside the penalty box when Hennessey chips it out instead of boots it away.
James chases a long ball from Davies but he has little hope of doing anything but causing the full-back to burn calories.
James skips into the box, cuts back, and tees up Wilson for his late run into the box, but it's touch late and Wilson drags it wide of the goal as he reaches back for the ball.
- OffDavid BrooksWales
- OnTyler RobertsWales
Roberts replaces Brooks. He is booked for being injured, and perhaps more realistically for taking his sweet time to get up and off the pitch.
Prynhawn Da, Matt.
Tyler Roberts will be on for Wales soon. Slovakia are having their best spell of the match so far. Hamsik picks out Mak in the box, who collects the ball well and fires in a low shot for Hennessey to dive onto.
Here's a very moving moment from earlier.
Rusnak receives the ball in the box from a clever through ball, and Hennessey runs out to block the shot with his face, the ball hits the striker again, and then it runs wide of the near post.
- Yellow cardJoe AllenWales
Joe Allen gets a yellow for blocking a quick free kick.
Bale hangs into the air to glance a header at goal that Dubravka has to leap to his right to pick out of the air.
James strides into the box, he overruns it a touch and plays it out to Bale on the left, whose cross is blocked.
Brooks trips Hamsik in midfield. It keeps the ball in Slovakia's half an allows Wales to reorganise.
Five minutes in, and Slovakia haven't been able to locate their rhythm.
Think Porto v Celtic in the UEFA League, that kind of absolute disgrace.
Wales just need to keep it tight for the first few minutes to make sure Slovakia don't get into their stride. Then they need to foul hard and they need to foul often.
- 2nd Half
We go again.
- End of 1st Half
Ryan Giggs will be feeling a touch smug going into half time.
There will be a minute of added time.
James makes space for a cross on the left as he comes onto his right foot, and has a cross blocked for a corner. Bale meets it but it's just over.
James is released down the left, sweeps in a cross for Brooks in at the back post, but the ball is put behind before he meets it.
Bale darts in to fire in a shot from a loose ball on the edge of the box, but as he falls, spinning towards goal, the ball trundles well wide.
- Yellow cardStanislav LobotkaSlovakia
Lobotka is booked for barging over Wilson as he started to drive at goal just over the halfway line.
James crosses in, the ball richochets for Wilson and it bounces off him before he can shoot. The ball runs to Brooks on the right, he cuts onto his left foot after getting to the corner of the box, and he curls just past the post.
Bale chases down Vavro and the defender plays the ball to the touchline for a Welsh throw.
Wales are sitting deep now, which makes them harder to break down but invites pressure. With about an hour to go, that's too early to sit back.
Bale pops up to head away with Hamsik lurking at a set piece.
Bale meets Wilson's cross, but his header doesn't trouble Dubravka. If Wales can just get to half time, they will be content.
- Yellow cardDenis VavroSlovakia
Bale intercepts and breaks from deep. He lifts the ball in front of James, who skips past Varo until he is brought down. Booking.
Lawrence sticks out a leg to block Kucka's strike at goal. It's a corner on the right, taken short, and Hamsik's slip sees the ball drift out wide.
Some pressure from Slovakia now, but Smith blocks a cross and Wales can reorganise.
Wales have been excellent so far. If they can't keep Slovakia at arms length for the rest of the match then it will be a brilliant performance.
Kucka trips Wilson as he races towards goal, and concedes a free kick 40 yards out. It's worked to Davies on the left, he pulls it back for Brooks, standing at the near post, and he curls in a left-footed shot against the side netting.
Bale sprints into the box, past his marker and turns in a low cross that flicks up over a defender but Slovakia scramble it clear.
Varo heads the free kick over the bar with Dubravka waiting. Wilson curls in another corner and the 'keeper claims.
- Yellow cardRóbert MakSlovakia
Mak goes in wild and high on Roberts on the right wing, and that's a booking.
Wilson's corner is cleared at the near post but Wales win it back, pressing high up the pitch, until Mepham concedes a foul.
Roberts takes a long throw on the right, but it's headed out at the near post by Rusnak.
Bale attacks down the left, and Pekarik sticks out an arm to block his run and concede another free kick. It's taken short and the move breaks down.
Free kick on the left for Wales. Wilson and Brooks line up, and Brooks low free kick beats the wall but not the massed bodies in the area.
Kucka drills in a shot from the right, deflected over the bar.
- GoalDaniel JamesWales
GOAL! Wales 1-0 Slovakia. James scores - Brooks bursts down the right, comes inside and plays in a poor pass to nobody. James steals in to take possession, and in the D he takes a fraction of a second to line up a low shot past Dubravka.
Slovakia have seen most of the ball so far, and Roberts concedes a foul on the right wing.
An early corner for Slovakia comes to nothing.
- 1st Half
The match gets underway.
Right, eyes down, let's see if Gareth Bale can do this by himself.
Kick-off is 10 minutes away, so hoik your predictions in my direction.
Giggs has had a middling start as manager of Wales, but he's up against it today. Without Aaron Ramsey, he is relying almost solely on Gareth Bale. Of course, there are worse players to rely on.

A two goal win would see Wales go top of their group - for now - because it would leave them with a superior goal difference over both Croatia and Slovakia, who have both played and won once already.
Here's Ryan Giggs on Ben Woodburn's goal last week: "It was great. I spoke about it after the game. He's had a tricky 18 months or so but he is a talent. He's someone who can express himself, is somebody who'd you pay to see and he's great to have around the place as well because he's a character. It was great for him. I have seen a difference. I have seen a lift in him which is what you want going into this game."
Here is the starting 11 for Slovakia.
Here's the Wales XI.
