Tottenham survived a late onslaught to draw 1-1 against Fiorentina in the first leg of their Europa League tie.
Spurs led through Nacer Chadli’s first half penalty, after Ben Davies was tripped in the box, having dominated the first half.
But Dele Alli was lucky to stay on the pitch after appearing to kick out at Nenad Tomovic.
And they lost their way in the second half and the Viola scored a deserved equaliser through Federico Bernardeschi’s deflected strike from distance.
Michel Vorm was forced into action in the closing stages with a string of saves as Mauricio Pochettino’s side clung on for a draw and a vital away goal ahead of next week’s second leg.

TALKING POINT

Should Dele Alli have been sent off? The midfielder appeared to kick Tomovic in the stomach as he lay on the floor after a tussle. The referee dealt with the incident with a yellow card but that looked to be lenient as the red mist descended on Alli. The fomer MK Dons player has an aggressive side to his game which needs to be curbed.
