FULL-TIME

No problems for Chelsea tonight as they seal their place in the last-16 of the Europa League with this convincing victory over Malmo.

90'+2

GREAT SAVE! Dahlin gets a strong left hand (or shoulder?) to keep out Loftus-Cheek's shot from point-blank range to deny Chelsea a fourth.

90'

Three minutes will be added on.

88'

Willian doesn't get the height in his free-kick and the wall does its job.

87'

Chelsea win a free-kick on the edge of the penalty area, as Willian is fouled by Strandberg. Willian is over it...

Hudson-Odoi scores! That's what the Chelsea fans wanted to see! Willian switches play to the flying-flanker, his beautiful first touch kills it and he drives into the box, burying a shot past Dahlin.

Jeering your own players? There is no excuse for that!

82'

Willian tries to play the ball into the path of Kovacic but the midfielder halts his run. Chelsea are hungry for a third.

71'

NO FOUL! Last-man Nielsen makes a desperate last-ditch lunge on Willian, sending the Chelsea forward tumbling. The referee waves play on, despite Chelsea's protests. Replays show he may have just made contact on the ball.

69'

Chelsea are in complete control now. They are even playing with a little bit of swagger. How goals can change games, eh?

67'
66'

A diagonal ball is switched to Hudson-Odoi but his first touch lets him down. He is beaten to the ball by Safari and then commits the foul.

64'

GOAL DISALLOWED! Kante is again the driving force, as he picks possession up in midfield and slips a pass through the Malmo defence. It takes a deflection, bobbles through to Barkley who slots home what would be Chelsea's second, but it's ruled out for offside.

63'

Hudson-Odoi has impressed tonight, but has Giroud done enough to start on Sunday?

60'

Rosenberg, who carved out Malmo's best opportunity in the first-half, is going to be forced off here with what looks like a knee injury.

58'

Rosenberg has to be treated for a knock - and Malmo are temporarily down to 10 men.

56'

Malmo's task somehow looks insurmountable now. They need three goals without reply. Game, set and match?

53'

Play is stopped once more - this time for a pitch invader!

52'

The bookings are adding up now, as Bengtsson is shown a yellow card for hacking Barkley. He will now miss Malmo's European match.

50'

Malmo play the corner short, with Christensen whipping in a lovely teasing cross to the far post. Emerson rises highest to make an important headed clearance.

49'

Vindheim stands up a dangerous cross to the far post but Azpiliecueta is well placed to head it behind for a Malmo corner.

48'

The smoke has cleared and the action continues.

47'

A blue flare, let off from the away end, covers the pitch with smoke and play has to be stopped for a moment.

46'

The second-half gets underway. Malmo have a lot to do, but they are far from out of this contest. Stamford Bridge could become very anxious if the visitors manage to get on the score-sheet.

HALF-TIME

An uninspired Chelsea head for the tunnel with the score-line at half-time 0-0. A few boos could be heard around the ground as the referee sounded his whistle.

45'

NO PENALTY! Nielsen has both arms around Giroud in the box but the referee is well placed and waves the Frenchman's half-hearted appeals for a penalty.

43'

Barkley has his legs clipped by Rosenberg and the referee produces his third yellow card of the match.

40'

Chelsea are being allowed to dominate possession. Malmo's high-press is now non-existent.

38'

SAVE! The space opens up for Barkley to have a crack from 25 yards. It may take a slight deflection but Dahlin gets down quickly to make a smart save.

37'

Malmo started at a lightning tempo but they have dropped back a bit, and in truth they look like they have run out of steam.

-
36'

Willian is pulling the strings for Chelsea at the moment. He finds Emerson on the overlap but his dangerous cross is hacked clear at the near post. Chelsea have Malmo pinned back.

34'

Willian is fouled on the flank, as Chelsea begin to move up the gears. The Brazilian's deep cross finds Giroud at the byline but he can't pick out a team mate with his knock-down.

32'

CHANCE! Chelsea play a well-worked corner, with Willian exchanging passes with Hudson-Odoi before drilling a low cross to the near post. Azpilicueta attacks it but Dahlin does brilliantly to save with his feet.

Give him the ball and watch what he does! With blistering pace, Hudson-Odoi runs down the flank and draws the foul from Safari, who picks up Malmo's first yellow card.

29'

Wow, that was nice. Hudson-Odoi leaves FOUR Malmo players in his wake with a piece of magical skill. The Chelsea supporters express their appreciation.

27'

Willian looks Chelsea's liveliest player. He cuts a pass through the Malmo defence to find Giroud out left, he crosses but no one in blue is in the box!

24'

Anxiety in the stands, anxiety on the touchline - Sarri has the look of a manager whose team aren't playing the way he demands.

22'

Malmo fans are making plenty of noise. Silence from the home supporters, though. You can sense their anxiety.

-

No arguments from me.

20'

SHOT! Barkey moves the ball onto his left foot and shoots through a crowd of bodies, but it's a straight forward save for Dahlin who barely has to move to smother it.

19'

Vindheim volleys a first-time cross into a dangerous penalty area, but none of his team mates gamble and the ball rolls out for a goal-kick.

  • Ross Barkley
Yellow cardRoss BarkleyChelseaGiroud sees his shot well blocked by Safari. And then Malmo break forward with pace, but the move collapses thanks to a cynical foul in midfield by Barkley. He's booked.
17'

Giroud sees his shot well blocked by Safari. And then Malmo break forward with pace, but the move collapses thanks to a cynical foul in midfield by Barkley. He's booked.

16'

Malmo need to chase the game and they have already underlined their attacking intent in the first 15 minutes. Chelsea have been too passive in the early stages.

14'

CLOSE! Malmo should be ahead! Hudson-Odoi takes a poor touch on the edge of the penalty area and the visitors pounce. Rosenberg, formerly of West Brom, takes aim from the edge of the box but his shot drifts just wide of Caballero's post.

13'

Emerson whips in a dangerous cross from the byline but Dahlin pushes it clear before his defence scramble it clear.

12'

Hearts in moves at the Bridge! Caballero plays a pass to Kovacic inside his box. The midfielder won't thank his goalkeeper for it but he does well to dribble his way out of trouble.

11'

Malmo have made a confident start. Their high-press currently has Chelsea stuck in their own half.

10'

SHOT! Chelsea fail to deal with a throw-in. It falls kindly to Traustason who fires a snap-shot at goal from the edge of the box, but it's never troubling Caballero.

8'

WIDE! Decent move from Chelsea, this. Hudson-Odoi gets bums off seats, running at the retreating defence, he spreads it to Kante whose cross finds Giroud, but he can't direct his header on target.

6'

Kovacic misplaces a pass, gifting Antonsson possession. That won't do anything to ease Chelsea's nerves. But Kante - of course it is - races back to make a rescuing tackle.

5'

Azipilicueta commits another needless foul in midfield - Chelsea haven't started particularly well.

4'

OVER! Vindheim whips in a cross from deep, Bengtsson rises above Giroud but can't keep his header down.

3'

Malmo's wing-back Reiks draws the foul from Rudiger and now the visitors have a chance to test the home side's defence with a free-kick on the flank.

2'

On first glance, it seems that Kovacic is playing in the anchor role in midfield rather than Kante, who appears to be playing further forward again.

KICK-OFF!

Chelsea get us underway at the Bridge.

19:58

Here comes the players. Will Chelsea return to form in front of their suffering supporters? Or is there a cup upset on the cards?

Malmo need to score at least two tonight to progress... surely not?!

19:55

FIVE MINUTE WARNING

A reminder of tonight's starting XIs as we edge closer to kick-off...

Chelsea XI: Caballero, Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Christensen, Emerson, Kante, Kovacic, Barkley, Willian, Giroud, Hudson-Odoi.

Malmo XI: Dahlin, Vindheim, Nielsen, Bengtsson, Safari, Traustason, Christiansen, Bachirou, Rieks, Antonsson, Rosenberg.

MATCH STAT

Swedish sides have won just once in their last seven European encounters away to English teams - winning their most recent such game (Ostersunds' 2-1 win against Arsenal in last season's Europa League).

19:37

Malmo boss Uwe Rosler: "He [Sarri] has to live with the pressure, like we all do. Not tomorrow, but in general, I wish he comes through this difficult period and will continue.

"The goal made the game really interesting for us. I know we need to score, but we can. So, see what happens."

19:32

PRE-MATCH STAT

Chelsea have won each of their last six Europa League home games, scoring at least three goals in five of those games (17 in total - 2.8 per game on average).

The omens look good...

19:27

Sarri: “After Monday night it is important for us to show character and determination tonight, to respond with the right attitude to the disappointment we felt," he said.

“We have to be more decisive in both boxes, we didn’t show enough aggression when attacking their area or defending our own, and ultimately this is where we lost the match.

“I understand why you are frustrated with results, and we all are. We are doing everything we can to return to winning games and all of us value the support you give as we work to turn it around and find the right path forward.”

19:21

SARRI RINGS THE CHANGES

So much for the Italian being too stubborn to change, eh? Jorginho has been dropped as Sarri makes a total of SEVEN changes from the side that started on Monday night. Cesar Azpilicueta, Antonio Rudiger, Ngolo Kante and Mateo Kovacic are the only players to keep their places.

The hugely talented Callum Hudson-Odoi has a chance to impress midfield. Kepa Arrizabalaga, at fault for one of the goals conceded against United, misses out through injury.

Hello and welcome to Eurosport's LIVE text commentary of the Europa League last-32 clash between Chelsea and Malmo.

Having faced the wrath of the Blues supporters in that dismal 2-0 home defeat to Manchester United in the FA Cup, Maurizio Sarri will be desperate for his side to protect their 2-1 lead from the first-leg and claim their place in the last-16.

The Italian has stressed his side need to win three or four consecutive games, and with the Carabao Cup final with Manchester City to play on Sunday, followed by a Premier League clash with Tottenham just three days later, there would be no better time for Chelsea to find some form.
