'Made me laugh!' - Ben Arfa mocks Emery after Rennes beat Arsenal
Hatem Ben Arfa has mocked his former manager, Unai Emery, after Rennes beat Arsenal 3-1 in the first leg of their Europa League last 16 clash.
The 32-year-old was in fine form as Rennes dealt a stunning blow to the Gunners' hopes of European silverware on Thursday evening.
Ben Arfa, who played under Emery at Paris Saint-Germain but found himself out of favour, found that victory was very sweet.
The Frenchman also admitted he relished seeing Emery's reactions on the touchline.
"My motivation was to play a solid match, to win and get ourselves into a good position to go through," said Ben Arfa after the match. "That’s what was in my head.
" But I did see the same Emery, as agitated as ever. I looked over at him a few times and that made me laugh a little. He hasn’t changed."
"I told some friends before the match that my prediction was that we would win 3-1 or 4-1. We didn’t manage to get the fourth but my prediction was right."
Emery will just have to hope he has the last laugh at Ben Arfa's expense at the Emirates Stadium.
