- End of E.T 2nd Half
IT'S GOING TO PENALTIES!
- Yellow cardDavide ZappacostaChelsea
BOOKING! Zappacosta is shown a yellow card for a cynical foul. Chelsea have everyone back to defend the resulting set-piece and Luiz does brilliantly to head clear the delivery.
Two minutes of stoppage time will be played!
- OffMijat GacinovicEintracht Frankfurt
- OnGonçalo PaciênciaEintracht Frankfurt
SUB! Into the final minute of extra-time and Frankfurt make their final change, bringing on Mendes Paciencia for Gacinovic. Must be good at penalties...
GOAL RULED OUT! A controversial moment at Stamford Bridge! Trapp almost spills Hazard's cross. Azpilicueta challenges and bundles the ball over the line with his shoulder. He wheels away in celebration... the referee takes a moment to think about it and eventually decides it was a foul!
FINGER-TIP SAVE! Zappacosta unleashes a venomous shot from the edge of the box but Trapp watches it all the way and shows great agility to tip it over the bar!
Chelsea force another corner, the ball is bouncing around the penalty area but the visitors hack it clear on the second attempt.
SAVE! Emerson is released on the left of the penalty area. His driven shot is pushed back into the danger zone by Trapp and the Chelsea defender is clattered by a fair challenge from Hinteregger as he attempts to bury the follow-up
A lovely break by Chelsea. They have plenty of players forward as the ball is switched to Zappacosta on the right. If he looks up, he will spot Hazard unmarked on the edge of the box. He doesn't and his cross to the back post is easily cut out.
Frankfurt are still on top. They look fresher than the hosts. A corner is headed clear by Luiz but it's not long before the visitors have the ball back.
The anxiety around Stamford Bridge is tangible. Tense times.
- E.T 2nd Half
Here we go... we need a goal in the next 15 minutes or the game will go to a dreaded penalty shootout!
- End of E.T 1st Half
HALF-TIME: The second period of extra-time to follow!
CLOSE! There are some tired legs and tired minds out there, and now Chelsea have a corner to defend. De Guzman's corner picks out Haller whose header is goal-bound but Zappacosta desperately heads it over his own bar with a crucial piece of defending!
One more minute to be added on.
Hazard has his legs taken from him by De Guzman, winning Chelsea a free-kick on the left. This will be the last opportunity of the first period in extra-time... but the Belgian's in-swinger is too close to Trapp and the Frankfurt goalkeeper can punch it clear.
Frankfurt have just one win in seven but they are growing in belief at Stamford Bridge.
OFF THE LINE! Luiz rescues Chelsea with a crucial, but brilliant, goal-line clearance to deny Haller. His left-footed shot was going in until the Brazilian raced back to clear acrobatically!
Sarri is left disgusted by Higuain's attempt at a cross - he's got his head in his hands! That was a big chance for Chelsea.
Hazard finds energy from within to race forward at rapid speed. He finds Higuain on the overlap and the forward has team mates free at the back post... but his cross is awful. It fails to beat the first man, Hasebe.
- OffOlivier GiroudChelsea
- OnGonzalo HiguaínChelsea
SUB! Gonzalo Higuain replaces Giroud in Sarri's final switch.
OVER! Hazard swings in a lovely corner delivery, picking out Azpilicueta around the back but the defender can't control his finish and he side-foots it over the bar.
Barkley has added a pair of fresh legs in the Chelsea midfield and here he comes, leading Chelsea on the break. But his attempted through-pass to Pedro comes too late and Falette makes a sliding intervention.
Jovic has the Chelsea defence back-peddling as he races into the box and line up a shot... but it's deflected behind for a corner by the shin of Luiz. The resulting set-piece comes to nothing.
- E.T 1st Half
Frankfurt get the first period of extra-time underway at Stamford Bridge.
Some hope for Chelsea, but they need to improve...
- End of 2nd Half
That's the end of normal time. Chelsea and Frankfurt will play 30 more minutes and potentially penalties to decide who will meet Arsenal in the final of this year's Europa League.
Azpilicueta handles and Frankfurt have one final chance in normal time with this free-kick. De Guzman delivers, Luiz heads it behind and their corner comes to nothing.
Chelsea force a corner - is this the moment? ... No, Hazard's delivery is poor and lands straight in the arms of Trapp. Extra-time is looming...
- OffAnte RebicEintracht Frankfurt
- OnSébastien HallerEintracht Frankfurt
SUB! Sebastien Haller comes on for Rebic.
FIVE minutes will be added on!
- Yellow cardJonathan de GuzmanEintracht Frankfurt
BOOKINGS! Abraham and then De Guzman go into the book for quick-fire fouls on Hazard.
SAVE! Trapp is down quickly to push Giroud's stinging drive from distance away. He gathers himself quickly to smother on the second attempt.
Chelsea have three minutes to find a goal - or it's extra-time and potentially penalties.
- OffRuben Loftus-CheekChelsea
- OnRoss BarkleyChelsea
SUB! Shock at Stamford Bridge quickly turns to anger as Loftus-Cheek's number comes up. He is replaced by Ross Barkley - and listen to the boos ringing around the ground from the home supporters!
BLOCK! De Guzman's effort is straight at the Chelsea wall.
FREE-KICK! Azpilicueta is fortunate not to be shown a second yellow for a clumsy foul on Jovic. But he has conceded a free-kick in a dangerous area - 25 yards out and central. De Guzman is over it... remember if Frankfurt score, Chelsea need two.
- Yellow cardCésar AzpilicuetaChelsea
BOOKING! Azpilicueta is shown a yellow card for a poor challenge on Gacinovic. But the visitors are fuming the referee didn't allow play to continue as Frankfurt had worked the ball into a good position.
The pressure is getting too much for the Italian...
That was Chelsea's first shot on target in the second half!
SHOT! Zappacosta almost catches Trapp out with an ambitious shot from distance! The Frankfurt goalkeeper makes a meal of it, he can only push it back into the danger area but it doesn't quite fall for Hazard.
Less than 15 minutes to play and this tie remains on a knife-edge. Arsenal are almost into the final, but can Chelsea join them and make it an all-English Europa League show-down?
Azpilicueta has moved to centre-back, with Zappacosta going to full-back. It's a risk from Sarri. Surely bringing on Cahill for a like-for-like swap with Christensen would make more sense?!
- OffAndreas ChristensenChelsea
- OnDavide ZappacostaChelsea
INJURY AND SUB! Christensen has picked up a knock and can't continue. Gary Cahill is changed and ready to go... but he's told to put his jacket back on by Sarri - Zappacosta is coming on instead!
GOAL UPDATE: Aubameyang with his second of the night surely puts Arsenal out of sight in their tie with Valencia. It's 3-2 at the Mestalla - and 6-3 to the Gunners on aggregate.
WIDE! Luiz tries a speculative shot from range but it's always bending away from goal and it's never troubling Trapp.
- OffSebastian RodeEintracht Frankfurt
- OnJonathan de GuzmanEintracht Frankfurt
SUB! Rode can't continue and is replaced by Jonathan De Guzman, as Frankfurt prepare to defend a corner... it comes to nothing.
Jovic nets the equaliser...
Rode is receiving treatment for what looks like a potentially-serious injury.
It's two goals in two games for Jovic - and he's now joint topscorer in the competition with Giroud with 10.
Chelsea just cannot keep a hold of the ball at the moment. It's in total contrast to the first-half, when they were in complete control. But Frankfurt have come out for the restart without any fear and they're having a real go at the hosts.
Da Costa gets in behind Emerson but the attack collapses as the referee spots an infringement as the cross is delivered. Chelsea have a free-kick - and some respite for now.
Frankfurt are playing without any fear. And that's always dangerous. Sarri is becoming more and more animated on the touch-line.
SUB! Pedro replaces Willian, who isn't pleased to be coming off.
Azpilicueta delivers a teasing cross into the Frankfurt six-yard box - but there's no one in blue gambling on it and Trapp pushes the danger clear.
GOAL UPDATE: Kevin Gameiro scores his second of the night in Valencia - it's now 2-2 on the night. Arsenal still lead 5-3 on aggregate. The Liga side need three more.
SAVE! From the corner, the ball drops invitingly for Gacinovic. He catches his volley sweet but it's straight at Kepa who parries it clear.
Rebic's cross is blocked by Azpilicueta, winning Frankfurt a corner. The visitors are building momentum.
Rode, already on a yellow card, is given a final warning by the referee after a foul on Loftus-Cheek.
Luiz picks out Willian with a ridiculous diagonal ball. The Brazilian's first touch is beautiful as he kills it dead but then his cross is too close to Trapp.
Willian races into space and heads towards the flank. Giroud is making a run off his marker to the far post but the Brazilian can't get enough zip on his cross to find him and Hinteregger makes the interception.
I have a strong feeling we are going to have another goal before the game can reach extra-time...
- Yellow cardMateo KovacicChelsea
BOOKING! Kovacic is shown a yellow card for a late foul on Falette.
GOAL UPDATE: Lacazette has grabbed Arsenal's second of the night; it is now 2-1 to the Gunners and Valencia need FOUR without reply to progress.
WIDE! Giroud spurns a glorious opportunity to restore Chelsea's lead and ease the pressure, as he snatches at his shot and slices it wide with just the goalkeeper to beat!
- GoalLuka JovicEintracht Frankfurt
GOAL! Chelsea 1-1 Frankfurt: Jovic scores, oh my! It's 2-2 on aggregate and as it stands we're going to extra-time! It's against the run of play. The much-fancied forward has undone Chelsea again! He slips in between the two centre-backs - both sleeping - to latch onto Gacinovic's through-pass and he makes no mistake, slotting it past the helpless Kepa.
Luiz puts Jorginho in all kind of trouble with a misjudged pass on the edge of his box and Jovic steals in. Fortunately, for Chelsea, the Frankfurt forward loses his footing.
What a man - but is it his last game at Stamford Bridge as a Blue?
- 2nd Half
No changes from either side at the break. Frankfurt get the second half underway; Chelsea are 45 minutes away from their first European final since 2013.
- End of 1st Half
HALF-TIME: Chelsea lead at the break through Ruben Loftus-Cheek's 28th-minute goal and it's advantage to the hosts.
Frankfurt win a free-kick in midfield but instead of taking a risk and pumping it into the penalty area, they play it backwards.
It hasn't been a convincing performance from Frankfurt so far; perhaps they are being hamstrung by this three-man defence. I expect the manager to change things at the break.
Loftus-Cheek's driving runs from midfield continues to cause Frankfurt problems. He is wrestled to the ground by Jovic to win Chelsea another free-kick.
- Yellow cardSebastian RodeEintracht Frankfurt
BOOKING! The referee books Rode for a foul on Jorginho.
CHANCE! Hazard delivers a poor cross but Frankfurt cannot clear convincingly. Emerson tees up Loftus-Cheek whose beautiful close control creates space for a shot but it takes a deflection off a defender and his effort trickles just wide.
- Yellow cardSimon FaletteEintracht Frankfurt
BOOKING! Falette is shown a yellow card for a foul from behind on Willian.
CHANCE! Jorginho is caught in possession once more. Jovic threads it through to Rebic but Luiz races back and gets just enough on the ball to deny him a shooting opportunity.
BLOCK! Jorginho's loose pass in midfield hands the visitors possession. Rebic leads a Frankfurt attack and has options on both flanks. He rolls it to Jovic on the edge of the box but Luiz is alert to make a block and deny the shot.
So far, so good for the English clubs tonight - but there's a long way to go. And if you hadn't realised already, anything can happen in football.
Loftus-Cheek is in double figures now for goals scored this season. He's really establishing himself in the Chelsea midfield now.
That goal gives Chelsea breathing space in this tie. Frankfurt need two without reply to progress in normal-time now.
- GoalRuben Loftus-CheekChelsea
GOAL! Chelsea 1-0 Frankfurt: Magical from Hazard! The Belgian drops his shoulder to escape his marker and play a lovely through-ball to Loftus-Cheek. Rode is caught ball-watching, allowing the England international run in unmarked and convert with a lovely side-footed finish.
Chelsea's full-backs are finding space down the flanks. Azpilicueta does everything right as he races to the by-line but he can't pick out anyone in blue with his cut-back.
OFF THE LINE! Chelsea inches away from taking the lead! Willian whips a free-kick delivery to the near post, it's glanced on by Luiz but Hasebe uses his defensive instincts to hack it off the line!
SAVE! Hazard plays a beautifully-weighted pass to Emerson on the overlap. It's clever movement from Giroud to run to the near post untracked but his deft flick is saved by the chest of Trapp.
Emerson and then Luiz whip quick-fire crosses into the six yard box but neither picks out Giroud with the visitors' defence standing firm.
A lull in play but the visiting supporters are enjoying themselves. There hasn't been many dull moments in Europe this week but this game has yet to hit the heights.
Chelsea play a short corner to Willian. The Brazilian drills the low cross into the packed penalty area but the visitors manage to hack it clear.
GOAL UPDATE: Aubameyang has levelled for Arsenal and it's a huge away goal for Unai Emery's side. It's now 1-1.
FINE SAVE! Chelsea have their own problems at Stamford Bridge, though. Da Costa catches sweet with a side-footed volley, it's destined for the top corner but Kepa is across his goal quickly to tip it over with a fine one-handed save.
GOAL UPDATE: Valencia have taken an early lead, Kevin Gameiro converting at the back post. It's now 3-2 on aggregate to Arsenal.
NO PENALTY! Abraham has his hands on Giroud as the Frenchman flicks on Willian's cross to the far post. Loftus-Cheek is stretching to meet it but he's blocked off by Da Costa. No penalty, says the referee.
Great movement from Hazard who almost latches onto a ball over the top from Luiz. He can't quite get it under control and it rolls through to the goalkeeper.
A first glimpse of Hazard who switches the ball to Emerson. He can't wrap his foot around the ball enough and the full-back's cross is straight into the arms of Trapp.
Loftus-Cheek was Chelsea's star man in the first leg, producing a driving performance in midfield. He goes on another lung-busting charge through the middle just now but he's crowded out as he approaches the penalty area.
Jovic is the competition's second-highest scorer, with nine goals. He's one behind Giroud.
Early concern over Christensen here, who crashes to the floor, but he gathers himself to defend a corner.
SAVE! Jovic rishes highest but can't get any direction on his header to trouble Kepa.
Frankfurt are playing with a back three tonight, which is adventurous. They have scored in every away goal in the Europa League this season.
- 1st Half
KICK-OFF! Chelsea get us underway!
Here come the players... we're moments away from another European semi-final!
Some interesting comments from Adi Hutter in his pre-match conference. The Frankurt boss said Jurgen Klopp "wished him everything" ahead of the tie.
Hutter is taking inspiration from Liverpool's heroic comeback against Barcelona on Tuesday night - and he hopes his side can pull of a shock here at Stamford Bridge.
"If you really believe in something it shows you can put that across to your team," said Hutter.
"Everything is possible. The favourite is Chelsea but once you get this far you want to get into the final."
We will be keeping an eye on Arsenal's second leg clash at Valencia tonight. Unai Emery's side are 3-1 up but with such an awful away record the tie remains in the balance.
It will be interesting how Chelsea approach this. With the away goal, they have the advantage but Frankfurt will fancy their chances.
Chelsea are hoping to reach their first European final since the 2013 Europa League, when they beat Benfica 2-1 under Rafa Benitez. Meanwhile, Frankfurt are looking to reach their first Euripean final since the 1980 Uefa Cup, when they beat Borussia Moenchengladbach 0on away goals over two legs.
In saying that, Frankfurt's confidence was dealt a terrible blow at the weekend when they were thumped 6-1 by Bayer Leverkusen on Sunday, with all six goals coming in 36 minutes of the game!
Frankfurt aren't a team to be underestimated. The Germans could have been out of sight in the opening 30 minutes of the first leg before Chelsea came fighting back. Considering all of the shocks and drama in Europe over the past two nights, The Blues will surely be taking absolutely nothing for granted.
Sarri has been through a fairly tough time at Chelsea this season, hasn't he? The very public fall-out with his own goalkeeper who refused to be substituted; his style of football heavily criticised; an absolute hammering at the hands of Bournemouth and then Man City; the impending transfer ban... but will a chaotic campaign end in glory?
"We want to reach the Europa League final and win it because we deserve a trophy this season," said Sarri.
"It's not easy because we have to play a dangerous team as we saw in the first leg. They're dynamic and aggressive and when they can find spaces, it's a dangerous match."
Chelsea only need a goalless draw tonight to reach the Europa League final after their impressive result in Germany last week.
Ante Rebic returns to the Frankfurt attack while Mijat Gacinovic also keeps his place. The highly-fancied Luka Jovic, scorer of the German side's goal last week, is the lone striker.
Obviously the big news is that, as expected, Eden Hazard starts in the Chelsea three-pronged attack which is spearheaded by Olivier Giroud. Willian will operate on the opposite flank.
Jorginho is enjoying arguably his best spell of form at The Blues and continues in midfield alongside Mateo Kovacic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
At the centre of defence, Andreas Christensen keeps his place alongside David Luiz. Emerson and Cesar Azpilicueta are the full-backs, while Kepa is in between the sticks.
Frankfurt XI: Trapp, Falette, Hinteregger, Abraham, Kostic, Rode, Hasebe, Da Costa, Rebic, Jovic, Gacinovic. Subs: Ronnow, Ndicka, Chandler, Fernandes, De Guzman, Haller, Paciencia.
Chelsea XI: Arrizabalaga, Christensen, Azpilicueta, Luiz, Emerson, Jorginho, Loftus-Cheek, Kovacic, Hazard, Giroud, Willian. Subs: Caballero, Alonso, Zappacosta, Cahill, Barkley, Higuain, Pedro.
Hello and welcome to Eurosport's LIVE text commentary of Chelsea's Europa League semi-final second-leg clash with Eintracht Frankfurt.
The Blues gained an impressive 1-1 draw in Germany last week, with Pedro grabbing the all-important away goal, and that was without Eden Hazard, who Maurizio Sarri opted to rest with their place in the top four hanging in the balance.
The Belgian went on to help Chelsea to a 3-0 victory over Watford three days later, subsequently sealing the club's place in the Champions League next season.
Now the priority is silverware. If they can hold their nerve tonight, a potential final with Arsenal awaits.
Stay with us for more drama in Europe after an incredible two nights. Kick-off is an hour away.
