FULL-TIME: A truly marvellous performance from this second-string Leicester City side saw them run Braga ragged. The Portuguese side offered extremely little despite their 8 shots on goal, but take nothing away from Leicester's win. Rodgers would have been pleased to see his team excel as well as relieved that no more of his players have joined their injury list.
- Yellow cardDavid CarmoSC Braga
Cynical challenge from Carmo as he hacks down Perez while Leicester counter. He will go into the referee's book and also miss the next match.
OFF THE POST!! Maddison takes the corner and Perez flicks it goalwards, with a deflection off Moura helping it onto the post and out for another corner.
This game has had so many deflections. Braga haven't played well at all but they must surely still be cursing their luck.
- GoalJames MaddisonLeicester City
GOOOAAAALLLL!!! Maddison's brilliant performance tonight is finally rewarded with a goal as Leicester make it 4. He slots the ball home after a bit of luck with a deflection.
- OffKelechi IheanachoLeicester City
- OnAyoze PérezLeicester City
The Foxes' 4th change of the night denies Iheanacho a chance to score a hattrick as Ayoze Perez replaces him on the field.
- OffYouri TielemansLeicester City
- OnHarvey BarnesLeicester City
Leicester now make a couple changes of their own. Harvey Barnes is on for Tielemans for starters.
- OffWenderson GalenoSC Braga
- OnFrancisco MouraSC Braga
Portugal Under-20 international Francisco Moura replaces Galeno in the front three.
- OffAl Motasim Al MusratiSC Braga
- OnAndré CastroSC Braga
Al-Musrati comes off for Andre Castro in midfield. Been a quiet night for the Libyan.
- OffPaulinhoSC Braga
- OnNicolás GaitánSC Braga
Paulinho departs the pitch in favour of Nicolas Gaitan. He was once considered one of the best young talents in world football while at Benfica. When he eventually got a move to Atletico Madrid it never really worked out and it's been downhill ever since for the 32 year-old.
OUCH! That one must have hurt. Iheanacho will be counting his blessings that there is no VAR tonight because that challenge is perhaps worthy of a sending off.
- GoalDennis PraetLeicester City
GOOOOAAAAALLL!!! Praet turns super-sub and likely kills off the game! Tielemans lets Iheanacho loose with a defence-splitting ball into the box and he plays an early pass across goal into the path of Praet, who fires home emphatically.
- OffAndre HortaSC Braga
- OnIuri MedeirosSC Braga
Nürnberg loanee Iuri Medeiros comes on in place of Andre Horta in midfield.
- OffAbel RuizSC Braga
- OnGuilhermeSC Braga
Ruiz has struggled to impact the game for Braga and Brazilian striker Guilherme Schettine takes to the pitch to try and address that.
- OffCengiz ÜnderLeicester City
- OnDennis PraetLeicester City
The second of Leicester's first two changes sees Dennis Praet come on in place of Under, who has had a fairly good game for Leicester tonight.
- OffMarc AlbrightonLeicester City
- OnWes MorganLeicester City
Leicester making their first two substitutions now. Veteran centre-back Wes Morgan coming on for Albrighton, who has been relentless at right wing-back tonight, is the first change. Suspect that could mean Justin moves to right wing-back to allow Morgan to slot in at central defence.
Electric run from Albrighton down the right. He tries to find Maddison with his cross, who is unable to control it in between two opposition defenders.
Novais takes a free-kick for Braga from a dangerous area and it's headed out for a throw by a Leicester defender.
CLOSE!! Braga show their keenness to get back into the game as Galeno slips it through to Ruiz in the box, who stretches for the ball and pokes it slightly wide.
Under gets set free down the right and passes it across the edge of the box to Iheanacho, who had the opportunity to lay it off to Maddison in acres of space to his left but instead tries to go it alone and shoot amidst a crowded area. Predictably, it is blocked and Maddison is furious.
- GoalKelechi IheanachoLeicester City
GOOOOAAAALLL!! It's a second for Iheanacho! He gets the ball from Under, turns and shoots from about 20 yards out. It takes a big deflection off Viana before going past Matheus but it still counts as his goal and his third of the Europa League group stages.
Slightly surprised by Maddison coming back out for the second half, as neither team decides to make any changes at half-time. He took a battering in that first half and although I am sure he received treatment during the break, he is looking a bit sheepish and not running smoothly right now.
- 2nd Half
Braga get the 2nd half going as they trail by a goal to nil.
- End of 1st Half
HALF-TIME: Leicester lead Braga 1-0 after a strong first half for the East Midlands decide. Their only concern may be the fact that they were unable to make their dominance count even more. Braga have impressed in spells but have lacked any clear cut chances so far.
- Yellow cardRicardo EsgaioSC Braga
Esgaio is the first Braga player to enter the book, as he fouls Maddison. Maddison is playing brilliantly but Foxes fans will be worried by how often he is getting fouled in this match, especially given his recent injury problems.
BLOCKED! The corner comes in and Choudhury is in plenty of space around the far post. He brings it down and shoots but it's well blocked by a defender.
WHAT A SAVE FROM MATHEUS!! Iheanacho weaves his way in between a few defenders before playing a through ball to Maddison, who sends Viana the wrong way to give himself a clear view of the goal. He aims for the bottom-left corner of the goal with his shot but a magnificent diving save denies him a goal and it goes out for a corner.
Braga have grown into this game over the past 10 or 15 minutes, but they have lacked a cutting edge to their attacking play so far, with them not really making the most of their increase in possession.
- Yellow cardMarc AlbrightonLeicester City
Albrighton charges down Galeno overzealously and his late challenge brings the Brazilian down and earns himself a yellow card.
CLOSE!! Maddison is involved in everything Leicester does going forward! Iheanacho lays it off to him and he finds space to take a powerful shot from perhaps 25 to 30 yards out. It dips a lot but not quite enough to find its way into the goal.
Novais sends a brilliant pass to Esgaio, who is just outside on the box on the right, and the right-back does a one-two with Horta on the edge of the box before dinking the ball into the middle but a fantastic sliding interception from Choudhury enables Schmeichel to clear it away with ease.
SAVED! Great corner from Novais finds Viana, who rises above Justin to head it goalwards and it is comfortably saved by Schmeichel.
Maddison involved again! He has clearly ran off his injury. A great cross is whipped in by Albrighton from the right and Maddison controls it well and tries to assist Iheanacho again but the striker is unable to reach it.
- GoalKelechi IheanachoLeicester City
GOOOAAAALLLL!!! A great throw-in finds the run of Iheanacho, who does a nice little one-two with Maddison to help the ball into the box. The 'keeper comes rushing out and gets his hands to it but the Nigerian striker benefits from some good fortune as the ball bobbles past the 'keeper towards the goal and he smashes it home to give Leicester a 1-0 lead.
Al-Musrati clips Maddison and the midfielder goes down injured. He limps around a lot before going down again and there is a worry he might have to be substituted off but he will try to run on it for now.
He has been hampered by injury problems so far this season and would have been disappointed not to have made the England squad today.
A poor pass from Fuchs to Tielemans allows Libyan international Al-Musrati to intercept. He gets tackled himself and the ball falls to Novais who seems hellbent on shooting and he scuffs the shot from far out, wasting a good opportunity for Braga.
Maddison swings a corner into a dangerous area and it's headed away by Braga but only as far as Choudhury, whose shot is deflected out for another corner.
Viana finds Ruiz in plenty of space on the right wing but he's a bit too ponderous and Leicester get the numbers back to block his eventual cross and send it out for a corner.
Justin slots it into Under in the box, but he's dispossessed and it's out for a Leicester corner.
Replays suggest Iheanacho wasn't offside after all. Weirdly, no VAR in the group stages of this season's Europa League but it will be in the knockouts, so the decision will have to stand.
Fuchs goes direct, playing it forward into space for Iheanacho to run onto. Braga 'keeper Matheus charged out of the box to claim it himself and ended up fouling Iheanacho in the process. It won't matter though...the linesman has his flag up because the Nigerian was offside.
KICK-OFF: Underway at the King Power Stadium.
Braga manager Carlos Carvalhal clearly holds Leicester in high esteem, saying "If they don’t win the title this year I believe they will be strong title challengers in future years," in the pre-match press conference. He also said Brendan Rodgers is "one of the best British managers at the moment."
Big compliments! Or is it mind games?
What a stat! This may be the Foxes' first ever match against Braga, but they have played against a Portuguese side before in European competition. In the 2016/17 Champions League, they lost 5-0 away to Porto before getting their revenge with a 1-0 win at home.
Braga went unbeaten in their Europa League group last season and topped a group featuring Wolverhampton Wanderers, Slovan Bratislava and Besiktas. It would be unwise for Leicester to underestimate them!
It really shows the extent of Leicester's injury problems that certain players are potentially having to skip an age group to help out the first team. Ethan Fitzhugh and South African midfielder Thakgalo Leshabela could both be set to make their Leicester debuts if they come off the bench tonight.
SC BRAGA TEAM NEWS
Braga will line-up in a 4-3-3 tonight, with former Swansea City manager Carlos Carvahal making 5 changes to the team that beat Famalicao 1-0 on Monday.
23 year-old Brazilian forward Galeno assisted 6 goals in the Europa League last season as part of that Braga team that topped their group before losing to Rangers in the round of 32, so he could be one to watch. It is quite a young side overall, featuring multiple Portuguese youth internationals from the past few years, including central midfielder Andre Horta, who joined from MLS' Los Angeles FC last year, while Spain under-21 international and Barcelona loanee Abel Ruiz leads the line for them tonight.
Former Benfica and Argentina star, Nicolas Gaitan may seem like a blast from the past but he could come off the bench tonight after returning to play in Portugal this year following a journeyman-esque few years that took him to Spain, China, France and the USA.
LEICESTER CITY TEAM NEWS
Leicester continue to line-up with a back three in a 3-4-2-1/3-4-3 formation, which has brought them plenty of success so far this season despite a plethora of injury problems that have primarily affected key players in defensive areas. Summer signing Timothy Castagne became the latest addition to the growing injury list last week, joining Jonny Evans, Caglar Soyuncu, Wilfred Ndidi, Ricardo Pereira and Daniel Amartey in the physio room. Brendan Rodgers has done well to deal with these issues, with his ability to do so also being testament to Leicester's strength in depth.
Marc Albrighton and Luke Thomas are the stand-in wing-backs in their makeshift defence, while Leicester's back three once again includes two full-backs, as James Justin and Christian Fuchs join French starlet Wesley Fofana in central defence. Although the likes of Jamie Vardy, Harvey Barnes and Denis Praet are being rested on the bench, the inclusion of Youri Tielemans, James Maddison and Cengiz Under in the starting XI tonight means that Kelechi Iheanacho will be well supported going forward.
