Juventus beat Freiburg in Europa League, Fiorentina defeat Sivasspor in Europa Conference League

There were wins for both Juventus and Roma in the Europa League as Juventus defeated Freiburg without Paul Pogba, and Roma defeated Real Sociedad. Elsewhere on the continent, Arsenal drew 2-2 with Sporting Lisbon, while the Europa Conference League saw West Ham win in Cyprus thanks to Michail Antonio, and Anderlecht drew at home against Villarreal.

Di Maria's former side Manchester United beat Real Betis 4-1, after goals from Marcus Rashford, Antony, Bruno Fernandes and Wout Weghorst for the home side, and Ayoze Perez for the Spanish team.
