Diaby, who was released by Arsenal last summer after years of injury problems, is yet to play a competitive minute for the French side since arriving at the Stade Velodrome in July.
The 29-year-old has suffered three separate injuries during his time at the club, which is one of the reasons he's being paid just €10,000 a month (£7,000) according to La Provence.
“The Marseille coaching staff are hopeful that Diaby can play a more active part from 2016 onwards,” remarked the French news outlet.
