Huddlestone's free-kick from deep is comfortably cleared by the Arsenal defence, but Hull immediately come back on the front foot. This is more like it!

Maguire is back, complete with a fresh shirt and a wad of cotton-wool up his nostril.

There's another break in play (and more claret) as Maguire receives treatment after being caught in the face by a strand hand. He's got a nosebleed by the looks of it, but the contact was unintentional.

The first half has yet to get going, not helped by that long stoppage in play. Arsenal are the better of the two teams, threatening most on the limited occasions they are able to hit Hull on the break through the pace of Walcott and Campbell.

That's putting a bit of a gloss on it, but Arsenal are the more dangerous of the two.

You can hardly blame Per for not wanting to damage his threading.

Powell is sporting one of those wraparound head bandages that seem old-fashioned for some reason. Mertesacker on the other hand has a little eyebrow plaster on.

Both players have been patched up and are going to be okay to continue.

Mertesacker and Powell have clashed heads and it will be a long delay while they get patched up. There's plenty of claret...

Arsenal are bossing possession as expected, with Elneny particularly impressive in midfield alongside Flamini.

Giroud dinks a cross into the box, but it's comfortably cleared by Hull. Walcott and Campbell are hardly the most fearsome duo in the air.

Huddlestone dinks a lovely pass over the top, but it runs through to Ospina as Diomande busts a gut to get on the end of it.

Arsenal break and after Campbell evades a tackle it opens up nicely for him to get a shot away. He fails to get curl on his strike though, sending it comfortably wide of the far post.

The former Tottenham midfielder has never really fulfilled his potential and isn't even making the Hull first-team on a regular basis at the moment. It'll be interesting to see how he fares tonight.

Hull enjoy their first decent spell of possession, with Huddlestone dropping deep and stroking the ball around in midfield.

It's cold on Humberside tonight, but that hasn't stopped the fans from turning out in droves. It's a decent atmosphere too: "Come on you 'uuulll," reverberates around the ground.

Arsenal have started at a high-tempo, pinning Hull back in their own half.
