Afternoon all, and welcome to yet another tedious tie in this most tedious of all FA Cup draws. Liverpool-Wolves, Wycombe-Spurs, Sutton-Leeds? What a load of nonsense. Still, at least we've been granted a rare opportunity to see little Manchester United on television.

Chris Baresi dwells on the ball outside his own box and decides to libero it clear, only for Morsy to turn up and force him backwards.

Nice from Fosu-Mensah, barging forward and forcing the ball into Rooney via Warnock. And he keeps going, accepts a return, and tiptoes into the box, pulling across the left-footed shot which skips wide of the near post.
47'
Martial is now playing down the left.

We've gone again.
17:03
Anyway, we're good to go again.

Apparently, Martin Keown said United's goal, which came after a run of passes, a pinpoint cross, and a pinpoint header, was "route one". Amazingly, Martin Keown is talking nonsense.

Elsewhere, Ghana and DR Congo are locked at 0-0 in the Afcon quarters - it's half-time there too.

That was a fairly low-quality fare, well though Wigan have done. They harried and hassled United, but also crafted a couple of useful shooting opportunities which they might have handled better. They did not, though, and face a serious grief to resolve things in the second half.

Half-time: Manchester United 1-0 Wigan Athletic

United have probably spared themselves a serious half-time kicking, but this has still been a tame effort.

There shall be one added minute.

GOAL! Manchester United 1-0 Wigan Athletic (Fellaini) Lots of passes from United, Rooney sweeping wide to Schweinsteiger down the right. He then swings in a fine cross for Fellaini at the back post, he's all over Connolly, and does very well to punch a header down into the far corner. You can't say it wasn't coming.

Fosu-Mensah bumdles past a challenge, leaves the ball behind, finds it again, loses it again. It's that kind of afternoon.

Morsy does superbly, putting his body between Smalling and the ball inside the box before squaring for Jacobs to sweep home ... except he misses his kick entirely.

Morsy seems to shove Fellaini, then grab him, but it's Fellaini who's penalised for pulling him back. The free-kick is easily cleared, but you'd expect Fellaini to be in the book next time he commits a foul.
37'
Er, ok, we will.

Shaw nips in well to steal possession from Warnock, then immediately gives it away when seeking to square for Martial.

Looking for pluses, Wigan have competed excellently, though that's the least we might expect. Power, Morsy and Perkins have been especially tigerish in midfield, and if they can win enough free-kicks from halfway and further forward, you never know.
33'
Schweinsteiger is tripped outside the box, 25 yards from goal and a fair way right of centre. Rooney and Mata stand behind the ball before Rooney pulls rank to float a nondescript cross into the box, headed behind for a corner which comes to nowt, though it takes Wigan several goes and phases to clear.

Some football! Martial burns through the centre of the pitch and lays it wide for Fosu-Mensah, whose low cross is excellent, on a plate for Mkhitaryan at the far post. But he's far too casual with his finish, assuming all it needs is contact to score, so instead of directing it across goal he ankle it high over the near post from four yards.
