Football news: Jose Mourinho is better than Pep Guardiola – Diego Maradona

The Argentinean legend, who is currently managing Mexican second division side Dorados, claims Mourinho's achievements in the game are more impressive than those of Guardiola, who benefited from the education he had under Johan Cruyff.

"For me yes, Mou is the best," Maradona told Marca.

"I would give Pep the merit of taking advantage of the launch that Johan Cruyff gave him. I have said on more than one occasion that tiki-taka was not invented by Guardiola. It was 'Flaco' Cruyff.

"That way tiki-taka is easier."

Maradona would consider coaching in Spain but is only interested in 'a long term project' and admits he needs to learn a lot as a coach so there's only one place he will go to improve.

"I think I will go to Manchester and Mourinho to ask him a lot of things."
