Geraint Thomas exclusively revealed on the Bradley Wiggins podcast that after his Tour de France win he received a phone call from Arsene Wenger, and now he has met another football legend: Lionel Messi.

The 32-year-old thought it was a Wiggins prank but soon realised it was a legitimate call from the Arsenal legend.

The Welshman is, of course, a household name, and met Messi after Barcelona’s 4-0 win against PSV Eindhoven on Tuesday.
