Arsenal definitely ending this game the stronger. Willock is looking very bright, the youngster.
Gibbs gets into a good position after Zelalem picked him out, but Gibbs was just offside before crossing for Joel Campbell.
Arsenal could go on to win this game despite being second best for long periods. Suddenly they look hungry and dangerous.
GOAL! Lens 1-1 Arsenal: Oxlade-Chamberlain scores! Gnabry creates the chance by finding the Ox, whose deft chip loops over Douchez and into the far corner. Very confident finish.
Lens sub: Koukou on, Bellegarde off.
Campbell has a decent go from distance but it's straight at Douchez.
Arsenal subs: Willock and Zelalem on, Walcott and Iwobi off.
The home fans making plenty of noise. They're sensing what would be a very encouraging victory for them just one week ahead of the start of their new campaign.
Opening for Arsenal as the Ox finds Walcott, but his shot is deflected out for a corner.
Lens' superior fitness is starting to show now. Arsenal's defence starting to look a bit ragged.
LENS CHANCE! Scaramozzino lashes a shot into the side netting when he should have crossed into the crowded six yard box and hoped for a touch.
Walcott puts the ball in the net with a lovely chipped finish, but the flag was up after Campbell had threaded a pass through.
Arsenal starting to settle in this second half. The sweeping changes have interrupted their rhythm somewhat.
LENS CHANCE! Bourigeaud connects brilliantly with a dipping volley from the edge of the box but reserve goalkeeper Macey springs well to tip it over. Very good save.
ARSENAL CHANCE! Chambers gets forward and delivers a dangerous low cross that evades Walcott and then Campbell at the far post as it flashes across the face of the Lens goal.
Lens dominating the game now. It's being played at their pace and Arsenal struggling to create any kind of rhythm.
Lens still first to every ball. Arsenal will need a couple of weeks to get up to speed.
Funny moment as Campbell is flagged offside, but continues to round the keeper and from five yards out, smacks his shot wide of the open goal. The Lens fans enjoyed that.
Sweeping changes by Arsene Wenger at the break. The Frenchman clearly keen to give as many of his players a run out as possible.
Five changes for Arsenal at the break. Macey, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Bielik, Gibbs and Campbell are all on. Akpom, Elneny, Monreal, Debuchy and Martinez make way.
SECOND HALF: We're back underway in Lens.
The opening goal...
HALF TIME: Lens 1-0 Arsenal - Autret's strike divides the sides at the break. Arsenal just a little off the pace at the moment.
Debuchy picks up a yellow for an overly aggressive tackle.
ARSENAL CHANCE! Nice touch by Coquelin puts the ball into Walcott's path, but the winger snatches at his shot towards the near post. Akpom is diappointed Walcott didn't put the ball across.
Autret deserves his goal. Has been the brightest player on the pitch so far.
GOAL! Lens 1-0 Arsenal: A mistake by Chambers, whose headed clearance feel straight at the feet of Zoubir, whose shot was saved by Martinez but only as far as Autret, who opens the scoring for the French side from close range.
Good challenge by Elneny to halt a promising run by Zoubir.
The corner comes in from the right, it's cleared to Elneny but the Egyptian fires well over from 25 yards.
Walcott gets into a good position and Debuchy finds him, but Walcott's cross isn't great.
Coquelin throwing himself into challenges like it's a North London derby, not a pre-season friendly!
Adelaide has come alive as he wins Arsenal their first corner... but Arsenal can't make the most of the chance.
CLOSE! Adelaide makes space for himself with a nice dummy, but can't get enough bend on his shot to beat the keeper. Nicely done though...
Lens definitely the sharper of the two sides so far.
Walcott gets into a good position but can't pick out Iwobi with his cross.
At the other end Iwobi and Akpom combine but the move fizzles out and Lens are able to clear.
Important night for Chambers, who has yet to make an impact in an Arsenal shirt. Could be sent out on loan this season, which would do him the world of good.
Another dangerous run, this time by Bourigeaud, but his shot from the edge of the box is charged down by Chambers.
John Bostock, formerly of Spurs of course, whips in a dangerous cross from the left but it just flashes across goal.
A couple of big chances already for Lens.
AUTRET CHANCE! Autret the danger man for Lens. This time he shows Mertesacker a clean pair of heels but drags his shot wide of the far post.
Autret has a go from distance but it's nothing more than a half chance and that won't concern Martinez in the Arsenal goal.
Arsenal dominating possession but quite a few loose passes, as you may expect in a pre-season friendly. Just lacking fluidity in the early stages.
LENS CHANCE! Lens break down the other end of the pitch and Zoubir flashes an effort over the bar after cutting inside Chambers and getting beyond Monreal. Let off for Arsenal.
AKPOM CHANCE! First opening falls to Arsenal as the ball pops up for Akpom on the edge of the box and he fires it straight at the keeper.
Lens are only a week away from their season starting in Ligue 2 in France so they will be up to full fitness and could provide a tough test for the Gunners.
KICK OFF: We're underway in sunny Lens.
A perfect night for it...
A warm welcome for Monsieur Wenger upon his return to France.
Interesting starting line-up for Arsenal. Obviously Wenger is still without his Euro 2016 players, who are taking a 3 week break before the new season. That gives the likes of Mertesacker, Chambers, Debuchy, Elneny, Coquelin, Walcott and Iwobi the chance to shine. The only sure-fire starter in tonight's team is Monreal, at left-back.
