Porto midfielder Hector Herrera struck with a thunderbolt from 22 metres in the 90th minute on Sunday to give his side a 1-0 win away to old rivals Benfica and put them in the driving seat to win their first Primeira Liga title since 2013.

Porto leapfrogged their opponents to go top with 76 points from 30 games, two more than Benfica, who now face an uphill battle to win their fifth successive league crown.
Both sides came close several times in a fast-paced encounter. Just when it looked like a goalless stalemate would be the end result, Mexico midfielder Herrera pounced on a loose ball and smashed his shot into the top corner, with Benfica keeper Bruno Varela clutching nothing but thin air.
"We haven't won absolutely anything," said Porto coach Sergio Conceicao, who is in his first season at the club. "We won an important match against a direct rival and we have four matches to play.
"It was a very intense match, very competitive. The two sides cancelled each other out in the first half... in the second, I don't remember Benfica having a scoring chance."
