That was a comprehensive performance from Liverpool, particularly in the second half. They scored three times after the break and much of that was down to the brilliance of Shaqiri and Sturridge, who make a real impact after their introduction. Klopp will be pleased by what he saw. Mourinho, not so much.

- End of 2nd Half
FULL TIME: Manchester United 1-4 Liverpool
There are plenty of positives to draw from this game if you're Klopp and Liverpool. The performances of Shaqiri and Sturridge off the bench will have given him something to think about.
Of course, this is only a pre-season friendly and Man Utd have missed some of their best players, but Mourinho will be concerned by what he has seen from his team here.
Quite the crowd.
I can't see Mourinho giving Chong much of an opportunity in the first team this season. He has great ability, but he has given the ball away very cheaply with some flicks and tricks.
Shaqiri has been great for Liverpool since coming off the bench. Keep in mind that he only cost £13 million from Stoke City. That could prove to be a great pick-up for Liverpool.
- GoalXherdan ShaqiriLiverpool
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Manchester United 1 Liverpool 4 (83 mins - Xherdan Shaqiri). What a goal! Incredible stuff from Shaqiri. The Swiss shaped for the overhead kick 12 yards out and found the back of the United net in spectacular style. Wow! What a way to mark you debut for your new club.
You can see in this performance just how reliant Manchester United are on Lukaku. They are lost without a proper number nine leading the line. They need the Belgian up top.
Sanchez comes off and gets an arm around the shoulder from Mourinho. It was a tough gig for the Chilean today. He played as a lone striker, with United sitting deep for long spells.
More changes here for Mancheste United. It looks like Herrera has come off and Gomes has come on.
Liverpool look to be further along in their pre-season preparations than Man Utd. They have more of their key players back in the squad and it has been evident in this performance.
GOOD CHANCE FOR SANCHEZ! That was an opportunity for the Chilean. He surged through and tried to create the space for himself, but Phillips stuck with him and made the block.
This second half has been impressive from Liverpool, especially when taking into account how they subbed off some of their best players at the half time interval.
- Goal by penaltySheyi OjoLiverpool
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Manchester United 1 Liverpool 3 (74 mins - Sheyi Ojo). Good penalty kick from Ojo. Sturridge wanted to take it, but the youngster claimed the ball and found the bottom corner of the net with a very cool conversion. Pereira couldn't read it at all. He stood still.
PENALTY KICK TO LIVERPOOL! It's another spot kick for the Red as Herrera fouls Robertson in the box.
Man Utd have made a couple of changes. Chong has come on for the Old Trafford side and so has Brazilian midfielder Fred. This is his debut after signing from Shakhtar Donetsk.
The problem for Sturridge has never been his ability. It's his fitness, so if Klopp can somehow find a way to keep him fit then they will have a great player and a good option on their hands.
Shaqiri has looked very lively since coming off the bench for Liverpool, as has Sturridge. The United defence are no struggling to deal with them as they look to get in behind.
ACROSS THE FACE! Shaqiri gets in behind the Man Utd backline and plays the ball across the face of goal. Sturridge just couldn't get on the end of the delivery from the Swiss.
That was quite the impact from Sturridge. The striker has enjoyed a good pre-season for Liverpool and there have been suggestions that he could be given another chance this season.
- GoalDaniel SturridgeLiverpool
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Manchester United 1 Liverpool 2 (65 mins - Daniel Sturridge). That might have been his first touch after coming on! Shaqiri fought off Bailly to play the ball back to Sturridge, who found the bottom corner of the net with a low shot through the legs of the defender.
Here we go. There are SIX changes for Liverpool. I can see that Sturridge has come on and Moreno has also been replaced by Robertson, who enjoyed a successful first season last term.
Oh dear. It looks like Liverpool are about to make A LOT of changes. There are about five or six players down on the touchline ready to come on for the Reds. Working these ones out will be fun...
FREE HEADER! That was a decent opportunity for Liverpool to regain the lead. I think it was Shaqiri who drifted to the back post, but his header was blocked by defenders and keeper.
There's a pitch invader running rings round the security staff at The Big House. The crowd enjoyed that one. The security staff eventually brought him to the ground. Eventually.
Are we about to see some more changes from Manchester United? Subs can only be made in three batches in these International Champions Cup matches. Fred is warming up.
As we all know, the challenge for Liverpool this season will be to win a trophy. Klopp ha achieved a lot in a short space of time at Anfield, but he has yet to get their hands on silverware.
Of course, Fabinho is one of the big name, big money signings that Liverpool have made this summer. He is one of the players who could turn them into real title challengers.
The first yellow card of the match was shown to Fabinho a few moments ago for a foul on Sanchez.
The second half has started where the first half left off. Liverpool are seeing more of the ball, with Man Utd looking to sit back and play out on the counter attack when they can.
Part of the problem for Manchester United is that they have quite a small squad for this pre-season tour of the United States and so they might not make that many changes.

And that Pereira came on for Grant in goals for Manchester United.

- OnXherdan ShaqiriLiverpool
Still trying to firm up some of the changes that were made at the break. We know that Shaqiri came on...
Liverpool were the better side in the opening 45 minutes of the match, but United also created chances of their own and equalised through a stunning freekick from Pereira.
United have emerged for the second half with the same outfield team as the first half, with Perreira coming in for Grant in goals. Liverpool have made a few changes, with Shaqiri on for his debut.
- 2nd Half
The second half is under way. It's 1-1 between Manchester United and Liverpool in the International Champions Cup.
- End of 1st Half
HALF TIME: Manchester United 1-1 Liverpool. Well, that was rather entertaining. Mane opened the scoring from the spot, but then Pereira levelled things up with a great freekick.
VAN DIJK ON TARGET! Grant was tested there. Milner found Van Dijk with an out-swinging corner kick, but the Dutchman could only direct his header straight at the keeper.
For a pre-season game, this has been quite an entertaining encounter between two rival clubs. Liverpool have probably edged it on the whole, but United have had their chances too.
Milner has been very good for Liverpool in this first half. He is such an underrated, but important, cog in this Liverpool side. His contribution doesn't always get recognised as it should.
There's five minutes left of this first half to play. Both sides will likely make changes at the break, so these are the final moments for some of these players to make their mark.
MANE PENALTY CLAIM! The Liverpool winger goes down inside the area after a challenge by Bailly, but the referee waves away his claims and gives the goal kick to United.
We have obviously seen quite a lot of both Mane and Salah in this first half, but Solanke has been quiet for Liverpool. He's struggling to get himself involved in the match.
Klavan probably should have seen a yellow card for that. Sure, it's a friendly, but that was a really bad tackle on Sanchez from the Liverpool defender. Caught him with his left and right foot.
McTominay enjoyed a breakthrough season for Manchester United last season, but the Scotland international has been a little passive in the centre of midfield so far this afternoon.
United have looked better since conceding that opening goal to Liverpool. It's as if they have been sparked into life by falling behind. Pereira has probably been the star man.
It must be said that Pereira has been excellent on this pre-season tour for Man Utd. He is desperate to get his chance for the Old Trafford side and he is making quite the impression.
Pereira is one of those players who will be hoping to break into Mourinho's plans at Man Utd this season having spent last season on loan at Valencia. That's one way to make an impression.
- GoalAndreas PereiraManchester United
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Manchester United 1 (31 mins - Andreas Pereira) Liverpool 1. What an incredible strike that was! Pereira took the freekick about 20 yards out from goal and whipped a wonderful effort into the top corner of the Liverpool net. Grabara didn't even move as it flashed past him!
It was initially good defending from Mitchell in defending against Sanchez, but then he lost the flight of the ball and took a wild swipe as Salah nipped in ahead of him. Correct decision.
- Goal by penaltySadio ManéLiverpool
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Manchester United 0 Liverpool 1 (28 mins - Sadio Mane pen). Mane steps up to the 12-yard mark and sends his low shot into the left hand side of the net. Grant dived the right way, but the effort was far too accurate from the Liverpool winger.
PENALTY KICK TO LIVERPOOL! Salah is fouled inside the penalty area by Mitchell.
Liverpool have seen more of the ball and you would say have controlled the majority of this first half so far, but you could argue that United have created the best opportunities.
Grant has been signed as a third-choice goalkeeper for Manchester United this season, but the former Stoke City man has actually impressed over the course of this pre-season tour.
This is actually Liverpool's last game on foreign shores before the start of the season. They have a couple of friendlies in the UK, but they will head back across the Atlantic after this.
Lallana did well to get in behind the Manchester United backline there. He couldn't find a teammate with his cut back, though. There was nobody in a grey shirt waiting in the middle.
MATA GOAL CHALKED OFF! The Spaniard has the ball in the back of the net, getting on the end of Sanchez's pass from deep to finish past Grabara. But the flag was up for offside.
That last chance sums up how Man Utd have played in the opening 20 minutes of this match. They have played on the counter attack, with Liverpool dominating the ball in midfield.
Pereira won the ball in the centre of the pitch and drove forward into the space in the Liverpool half. He made the pass out to Sanchez on the right, but Liverpool recover to tackle.
Sanchez has been impressive for Manchester United in this pre-season tour. The Chilean struggled to find his best form in the second half of last season, but looks back to his best.
VERY COOL! Wooft! That was bold. Sanchez closed down Grabara as he had the ball at his feet, but the Liverpool goalkeeper side-stepped the Chilean to get the clearance away.
ANOTHER SALAH EFFORT! The Egyptian gets on the end of a stabbed cross from Mane, but the header wasn't powerful enough to beat Grant and the keeper makes the save.
Liverpool have definitely started the match the better of the two sides. They're the ones who are showing more in the way of attacking intent. They have the stronger attacking lineup, though.
Some pre-match shots of Salah...
OFF THE LINE! And now Liverpool come within inches of scoring another. Van Dijk met Milner's cross, but Herrera did well to clear off the line with Grant caught underneath the ball.
SALAH COMES CLOSE! That was very close to the opener. Mane played a clipped ball over the top for Salah, who flicks a backwards header towards goal. Grant just tips over his bar.
MILNER WAS IN! That was a good half-chance for Liverpool. A throw in got Milner in behind at the byline, he squared for Solanke, but the striker couldn't force the ball in from close range.
There's another flying tackle, this time from Herrera on Mane and the Liverpool winger goes sprawling on the ground. The referee has been busy in the opening 10 minutes of this match.
De Gea is back in the Manchester United squad after the World Cup. The Spaniard didn't have the best of tournaments, but he remains one of the very best in the world.
Good cross in from Lallana down the left side. He was trying to get Solanke in behind the Manchester United defensive lineup, but Grant came off his line to gather the ball.
First flash point between the two teams. There was a challenge between Milner and Pereira and the Man Utd player hasn't reacted well to that, squaring up to the Liverpool player.
Mourinho said before kick off that this is Man Utd's "kids" against an experienced Liverpool side. However, United's average tonight is 26 while Liverpool's is actually 25.
There was a late change to the Man Utd starting lineup. Smalling has dropped out of the back three and he has been replaced by Bailly, who was thought to be struggling with injury.
- 1st Half
The match is under way at The Big House in Michigan! It's Manchester United against Liverpool.
New summer signing Fabinho makes the Liverpool lineup, but there is some confusion over whether Fred is in the Manchester United squad for this game. Some say he is, some say he isn't.
