FULL-TIME! Blaise Matuidi's dramatic late goal secures France a 3-2 victory over the Netherlands in a poignant night at the Amsterdam Arena.
Antoine Griezmann and Olivier Giroud struck within the first 13 minutes to leave the Netherlands with a mountain to climb.
But Luuk de Jong’s goal began the comeback a minute after the restart and Ibrahim Afellay’s levelled on 86 minutes as the Netherlands looked to steal an unlikely point.
Didier Deschamps’ side had other ideas however as Matuidi squeezed the ball beyond the reach of Jasper Cillessen with just two minutes left on the clock!
France have the ball where they want it...
Well, what drama in the final five minutes of this contest. There will be three minutes added on time so there's still time for another goal... or two!
GOAL! Netherlands 2-3 France - The visitors respond immediately - Martial plays through Matuidi whoslides the ball beyond the reach of Cillessen!
GOAL! Netherlands 2-2 France - Blind's side find an equaliser! Depay is the provider once again as his corner is headed into the back of the net by Afellay!
A patient build-up attack from the visitors comes to nothing when Payet, uncharacteristically, plays a loose pass in the penalty area.
NETHERLANDS SUB! Vincent Janssen makes his international debut as he replaces goalscorer De Jong.
Netherlands are preparing yet another change as we approach the 80 minute mark. There's plenty of time for the hosts to find an equaliser after an impressive second-half.
CHANCE! Payet sends in another beautifully weighted cross which Pogba rises highest to but he somehow heads over the bar. Cillessen had committed himself to the ball and got nowhere near it!
NETHERLANDS SUB! Willems is replaced by Sunderland's Patrick van Aanholt.
NETHERLANDS SUB! Klaassen is replaced by Georginio Wijnaldum.
A cross is delivered towards the back post but it's well defended by Jallet who heads out for a Dutch corner.
FRANCE SUB! The goalscorer Giroud is replaced by Andre-Pierre Gignac.
CHANCE! De Jong tees up Klassen who has space and time for a shot at goal from the edge of the penalty area but he sends it straight down the middle and it's an easy save for Mandanda. He should test the goalkeeper in such a situation.
BOOKING! You don't often see yellow cards dished out in a friendly but this foul warranted such an action. Matuidi took down Bazoer.
OUCH! Williems has drawn blood after a collision with Martial and the Netherlands player will have to leave the pitch for treatment.
Just a reminder of what's happened so far - Griezmann and Giroud were on the scoresheet for France in the opening 13 minutes before a poignant tribute was played to the late Johan Cruyff on 14 minutes. The visitors led 2-0 at the break but De Jong's goal two minutes after the restart found a way back for the Netherlands.
SAVE! Pogba tries his luck from distance but it's a comfortable save for Cillessen.
Martial sees his shot deflected wide for a corner and the Netherlands sweep up the danger from the set-piece.
CLOSE! Klaassen almost finds an equaliser but this time he's unable to find the target from Williem's cross.
It's been a thoroughly entertaining match so far with plenty of opportunities at both ends of the pitch. A fourth goal is inevitable...
POST! The deadly Payet almost extends France's lead from a free-kick from all of 20 yards but he's denied by the woodwork.
Whatever Danny Blind said to his team at half-time has worked. They're playing at a much higher tempo now and look the more dangerous side in attack.
CLOSE! Klaassen almost levels the scores but Mandanda is at full stretch to stop the header.
That goal has sparked the Netherlands - and their fans - into life. Depay has been a real inspiration since his introduction.
Giroud appears to be hobbling at the moment - a real cause for concern for Arsenal fans.
Just to address the substitutions made at half-time - Ibrahim Afellay and Memphis Depay came for Van Dijk and Clasie for the hosts and, for the visitors, Anthony Martial, N'Golo Kante and Lucas Digne are on for Griezmann, Diarra and Evra.
GOAL! Netherlands 1-2 France - The hosts are back in the match! De Jong holds off his marker to chest the ball into the net from Depay's free-kick. It may have struck his arm but Danny Blind won't mind one bit - his team have been given a lifeline!
The second-half is underway and both sides have made two changes each...
HALF-TIME. The referee signals an end to a first-half which France have completely dominated. Griezmann and Giroud strikes ensure the visitors have a two-goal lead at the break. The Netherlands have been so, so poor.
The corner delivery is played too close to Cillessen who bravely gathers the ball.
France win a corner just before the half-time interval. The dangerous Payet will take...
Veltman swings in a dangerous cross into the French penalty area but the visiting defence do well to clear.
There was also a minute's silence to remember the victims of the Brussel bomb attacks earlier this week.
France have dropped a gear in the last few minutes but the Netherlands have offered little in excitement either. Just over five minutes until the half-time break when you'd imagine Danny Blind will have a few choice words with his team.
Danny Blind was bound to have been thinking about his utilising his substitute's bench sooner rather than later but the injury to his most creative player is certainly a further blow.
NETHERLANDS SUB! Danny Blind is forced into his first change as the injured Sneijder is replaced by Riechedly Bazoer. Daley Blind takes the captain's armband.
Things go from bad to worse for the Netherlands as it looks like Sneijder's night is over. He's holding his calf and looks in some pain.
France are in cruise control at the moment while Netherlands continue to chase shadows.
France have been so impressive in the opening stages and the likes of Griezmann and Payet have been a real handful. With such an amazing squad depth it's no wonder they are second favourites to lift the European Championships in the summer.
Payet's free-kick delivery towards Pogba at the back post is slightly overhit and the Juventus man just can't make contact..
Antoine Griezmann's free-kick - you won't see much better...
Matuidi finds Giroud in the penalty area but the Arsenal man takes it down with his hand and concedes a free-kick.
SAVE! Another set-piece causes havoc in the home penalty area and it's Cillessen to the rescue this time as he denies Griezmann's effort.
CLOSE! The hosts are all over the place at the moment - Van Dijk almost puts the ball into the back of his net as he attempts to clear a cross and it goes agonisingly wide of the back post.
Antoine Griezmann puts France up 1-0.
SAVE! Promes forces Mandanda into his first save of the net from the edge of the penalty area. That was better from the hosts with Promes and De Jong linking up well.
France could - and probably should - be out of sight here. The Netherlands have been so, so poor. They can't defend and at the moment, they can't keep the ball.
CLOSE! Matuidi collects a loose pass and delivers a great cross to the back post towards Griezmann but the Atletico Madrid star is unable to keep his header down.
And suddenly the previous 13 minutes are deemed insignificant.
The game stops to remember the late Johan Cruyff.
GOAL! Netherlands 0-2 France - The visitors have a second! The hosts can only partially clear Payet's corner, the ball is sent back in by Matuidi who picks out the unmarked Giroud and the Arsenal man makes no mistake from close range.
BLOCK! No such luck for the hosts as Sneijder slams the ball into the wall.
The Netherlands have a chance to respond with a free-kick of their own now. It's a little further out but you just never know...
Didier Deschamps will be delighted with how his side have started this contest. The hosts have hardly had a touch so far.
GOAL! Netherlands 0-1 France - Griezmann opens the scoring with quite a sensational free-kick! His effort curls over the wall and straight into the corner of the net leaving Cillessen - who gets his angles all wrong - with no chance.
But the danger isn't over for the Netherlands - they concede a free-kick from around 25 yards.
SAVE! The visitors have made a bright start to proceedings and the highly-rated Payet shows a glimpse of his qualities as he finds space in a central position before forcing Cillessen into a low save after a curled effort.
Wesley Sneijder is the only remaining player in the current Oranje squad from the team that defeated France 4-1 at Euro 2008.
KICK-OFF! We're underway at the Amsterdam Arena. Remember, we will have a minute's silence on 14 minutes in memory of the late Johan Cruyff.
A minute's silence is now taking place in memory of the 34 victims of the Brussels bomb attacks in Belgium on Tuesday.
FIVE MINUTES TO KICK-OFF! The players make their way out onto the pitch at the Amsterdam Arena on a night of high emotions.
Didier Deschamps, France boss: "I have some convictions. I know where I want to go and who I want to go with. But there are things you don't expect, as you saw at the last World Cup. It's better to have anticipated it and to have Plan B and C, as you say. I hope nobody will have any physical problems so I'll have a huge amount of choice."
Danny Blind, Netherlands boss: "[On Darryl Janmaat] It is worrying for me but especially for the guys at Newcastle United. The level (the players are playing at) is not necessarily determinative (of selection) - it is also about the individual - but it is an advantage to play in the Premier League. They also realise (this). Janmaat regretted terribly that he had to cancel (joining up with the squad). He wanted to be with Oranje (as he was) anxious to be in the spotlight for another club in case Newcastle United are actually relegated."
PRE-MATCH STAT! Netherlands haven’t beaten France in a friendly match since 1963. Their last victory over the French came in the 2008 Euros, with Marco van Basten’s side running out 4-1 winners.
Didier Deschamps has given Arsenal frontman Olivier Giroud an opportunity to impress this evening and he leads the attack for the visitors. He starts in a three-man attack which also includes West Ham’s Dimitri Payet who has been rewarded for his fine club form and Antoine Griezmann of Atletico Madrid.
Danny Blind - whose playing career was launched by then Ajax boss Cruyff – lines his team up in a 5-3-2 formation. Midfielder Wesley Sneijder, who has 120 international caps, is by far the most experienced player in the squad and he’ll be expected to be the creative spark for the hosts. Southampton’s Jordy Clasie starts alongside the veteran in midfield while Luuk de Jong and Quiny Promes start up front. Arjen Robben misses out altogether through injury.
As we await tonight's team news, why not read Pete Jenson's tribute to the late Johan Cruyff.
Good evening and welcome to Eurosport’s LIVE commentary of the Netherlands vs France. Tonight’s friendly is bound to be an emotional occasion – play will be stopped after 14 minutes for a minute’s silence to remember Dutch legend Johan Cruyff who sadly passed aged 68 this week. The players will also wear black armbands in tribute. There will also be a minute’s silence before-kick off in memory of the 34 victims of the Brussels bomb attacks in Belgium on Tuesday.
