And that is full time. It finishes 2-1 to Belarus courtesy of goals from Hardzeichuk and Valadzko. Ward scored a consolation but this is a confidence blow to the Irish to lose to a team ranked 77th in the world. There will be four added minutes for the Irish to salvage something.

McGoldrick cuts inside and tries a curling drive to the near post which goes narrowly wide, decent effort.

The home side have been much better in the second half but the defence will be a worry for O'Neill and his coaching side.

Long appeals for a penalty after going down in the box after a tussle when Hendricks sent in a cross from the left, the ref says no penalty.

Sivakow is booked for failing to go back ten yards. McGoldrick eventually takes the free-kick but its straight into the wall, terrible effort.

Ireland have a free-kick in a dangerous position 25 yards out.

O'Dowda blazes a shot over from the edge of the box, he has looked bright since coming on.

McGoldrick is on for the impressive McClean.

O'Dowda and O'Kane are on for McGeady and Meyler.

Long runs onto a ball, cuts inside and sends in a curling effort which is comfortable for the keeper. Ireland look a different team now.

GOAL! Christie sends in a cross which is headed in the air, Long does well to control the ball and tee up Ward who drives the ball into the bottom right corner.

With Forde coming on, it looks like Westwood will not be making the squad for the Euros.

Third choice keeper Forde comes on for Given.

Gibson and Murphy make way for Hoolahan and Long.

Stasevich twists inside Christie and sends in a dangerous cross which comes off Clark's shin for a corner. Belarus have grown in confidence.

That was against the run of play but Christie was all at sea for that move. Seamus Coleman will not be worried about being replaced in the line-up for the Euros on this evidence.

GOAL! Valadzko exchanges passes, does a neat flick inside and drives the ball into the bottom right which goes in via a deflection for his first international goal.

It's another corner for Ireland, this time McGeady's cross is blocked. The set piece is played short to Meyler but comes to nothing.

This has been a vast improvement from the home side in the second half in their last chance to impress before the squad announcement.

Double save from Martynovich! From a corner, Clark's header is parried by the keeper who manages to get to his feet to block Hendrick's drive on the rebound.

Could we see Hoolahan or Quinn come off the bench to insert a bit of energy in the midfield?

Christie goes on a slalom run and digs out a good cross for Clark whose glancing header is straight at the goalkeeper's feet.

McGeady wins a free-kick 35 yards from goal on the right side. Gibson swings in the cross but the keeper gathers.

What a contrast it has been to Friday's draw against Holland when Ireland played a diamond formation. In their defence, 11 changes have been made from that game so lots of experimenting going on.

What a chance! McGeady does a stepover and whips in a cross from the right for the unmarked Murphy who heads over the bar from eight yards out.

Belarus get the second period underway.

And that is half-time and disappointing from an Ireland perspective. They trail 1-0 courtesy of Hardzeichuk's fine strike and have been lethargic and lacking in ideas.

A Belarus clearance smacks Murphy in the face, the ball comes to McClean who sends in an inviting cross on the right from the left but it just evades a team-mate.

Christie gets caught out of position again as a long raking ball comes in towards the right flank. Stasevich does well to keep it in and send in a low cross but Given collects. Christie looks good going forward but has been suspect defensively.

O'Neill's side began well but have become slow, predictable and lacking in energy for the past 25 minutes.

Fantastic ball from Yanush first time to Valadzko whose shot from inside the area is tipped over the bar by Given. The set piece comes to nothing though.

Hendrick does well to win the ball back and finds Christie, whose cross is blocked for a corner down the right. The set piece is whipped into the far post but its too long for Hendrick.

Korzun gets forward for Belarus and sends in a low cross but the ball goes out for a goal kick. They will be pleased with their first half showing.

O'Neill may have to think about changing formation after the break. With the absence of McGoldrick, there's no creativity coming from Gibson or McGeady so far - their place on the plane to France is at stake.

Murphy has a chance to run into the box with just one defender to beat, he is tackled though with McGeady in space on the right. That as a waste.

Plenty of experience in the hosts' line-up with Given, McGeady, Gibson, Meyler. They have looked lacklustre off the ball though.

Christie is caught out by a well timed run by Valadzko but he is unable to get a shot away. That was a close call.

Christie cuts inside and is brought down around 30 yards out for a free-kick in a dangerous position. McClean hits it straight into the wall, it falls to Meyler whose drive is beaten away by the keeper.

We are expecting Martin O'Neill to name his squad for the Euros at 23:00 GMT, it is sure to make very interesting reading given the absence of Arter and Keane.

The goal was certainly against the run of play. Given is bearing his team-mates for allowing the counter attack.

GOAL! What a strike from Hardzeichuk! The visitors catch Ireland on the counter attack, its played to the Borisov man who curls in a shot from 25 yards beyond the despairing dive of Given.

Yanush sends in a low cross from the right byline, Gibson makes a hash of the clearance but Given is there to gather.

Belarus have a corner down the left after Ward heads a cross behind wth the fullback Paliakov lurking. Hleb takes the set piece, it falls to Hardzeichuk whose drive is blocked by Gibson.

Ward has looked bright down the left and linked up well with McClean. In contrast, we haven't seen a lot from Christie on the other flank.

Martin O'Neill's side are in a group of death with Italy, Sweden and Belgium at the Championships so a good start is a must.

McGeady will be keen to impress on the right, he has not played much football this season at Sheffield Wednesday.

Former Arsenal and Barcelona playmaker Aleksandr Hleb is in the Belarus line-up at the age of 35. He now plys his trade at Turkish club Gençlerbirliği.

Ireland dominating possession, Gibson is going for the long raking ball towards the strikers when he has space.

Nice shimmy from McClean, that was Damien Duff-like. The ball comes out to Ward on the left who sends in a low cross but he is flagged off-side.

Kisliak with an ambitious effort from 30 yards to say the least, which flies into row z.

McClean controls the ball well in the box and lays it off to Ward, whose left wing cross is headed clear, that was a bright move. The ball comes to Ward again who fizzes in a good ball to the near post for Clark whose glanced header goes across goal.

The hosts are going for a 4-3-3 with McGeady and McClean on the flanks and Hendrick supporting the strikers. They are passing the ball around comfortably in the opening stages.

There's been talk of up to five places behind available for Ireland's Euro 2016 squad so plenty to play for.

Dejan Jakimovski is the referee tonight. The hosts get the game underway.

Five minutes till kick-off in Cork..

Robbie Keane has been ruled out of this friendly with a calf muscle injury and is a doubt for the Euros.
