Romania extend their unbeaten run to 17 matches with a goalless draw with European champions Spain, but it was poor fare in Cluj with few real chances of note for either side.


Chiriches heads clear from Fabregas and that will be that in Cluj.


Fabregas is fouled by Sanmartean in midfield. Bartra then steps forward again but there is a wall off yellow in front of him.


Aduriz flicks on a long Casillas punt but the ball just evades Morata.


Four minutes of additional time in Cluj - for the raft of substitutions rather than for any injuries.


This seems to be destined to end goalless - the match has rather been ruined by the substitutions. Talking of which, Adrian Ropotan comes on for Pintilli for Romania.


Morata runs at the Romania defence down the right and tries to find Isco. Filip is then able to get a touch from Mata's pass back into the danger area.


Mata feeds Aduriz, who released the Manchester United man to cut the ball back to Fabregas, who seems to be tripped as he runs into the area.


Isco breaks down the right and forces Grigore to concede a corner. Tatarusanu is nudged as he comes for Mata's deep corner from the right.


Aduriz cannot quite get on the end on a lovely lofted Fabregas pass. Lucian Sanmartean replaces the impressive Stanciu for Romania.


Stanciu shuffles into the box and goes to ground under a Mario challenge but the French referee waves no penalty. Spain break quickly but Morata shoots well wide of Tatarusanu's goal.


Stanciu feeds Torje down the right and the cross is sublime but there is no yellow shirt in the six-yard box to tap home.


Bartra is in the Romania half as Spain look for a winner - but they have to be wary of the speed of the home side on the break.


Isco is adjudged offside as Mata tries to thread the ball through to the Real Madrid star on the edge of the area. Alvaro Morata replaces Silva for Spain.


The Romanian fans suddenly sound in good voice - Koke tries to find Silva on the edge of the area but Romania check the attack again.


Romania break three against two following a tackle on Fabregas in midfield, but Stanciu tries an effort from 40 yards that sails well over Casillas' bar.


Raul Rusecu replace Andone for Romania. Hoban then tries his luck with an effort from the edge of the area that Casillas deals with easily.


Mario breaks down the right and wins a corner off Grigore - Mata's corner is cleared and Isco gets a yellow card for a challenge on Ivan on the Romania break.


Romania attack over the top but Nacho coolly deals with the run of Andone.


Stanciu finds space on the left touchline but his centre lets him down and Spain have a goal kick.


Isco is angry with the French referee - the former Malaga winger says Sapunaru shoved a hand into his face. Alba is then shown a yellow card for an earlier challenge.


Cesc Fabregas is the deepest midfielder for Spain now, so Mata will take his usual advanced role.


Mario is across to make another measured interception to deny Torje down the Romania left.


Andrei Ivan replaces Stancu for Romania, while Juan Mata comes on in place of Pedro for Spain.


Fabregas' corner is poor, then Pedro sees an effort from the edge of the area blocked from Silva's cut back from the left.


Isco wins the corner off Chiriches following a run and shot down the left channel from Fabregas' pass.


CHANCE: Stanciu shows great control in the centre circle and finds Stancu, but the left winger's swept effort is well over Casillas' crossbar.


Isco has been bright for Spain since coming on, but this match has become a lot less fluent following the raft of substitutions.


Popa skins Jordi Alba down the right and he needs Isco to help him out. Gabriel Torje comes on to replace Popa for Romania


Cesc Fabregas replaces Sergi Roberto, while 35-year-old Aritz Aduriz comes on for Alcacer.


Stanciu gets clear from Alba and feeds Andone down the centre but Sergi Roberto does just enough to hold off the Cordoba striker.


Romania win a free-kick in midfield as Sergi Roberto is penalised for a high foot. Stanciu then finds space down the left but Mario is across to make the challenge.


CHANCE: Andone shoots wide from the left angle under pressure from Nacho following another good break by Stanciu.


Silva finds space in the box to take Koke's pass, but Chiriches is across to make the tackle following a heavy touch by the Manchester City man.


Isco threads a pass through to Silva down the left channel but the Spain playmaker's low cross is cut out.


We have a Mexican Wave in the stadium - that may tell you how disappointing the opening minutes of the second half have been!


Bartra and Pique look flustered after again being closed down quickly by Romania's high line. That is the last action for Pique, who is replaced by Nacho Fernandez.


Isco cuts in from the left but Romania again win the ball and look to break quickly. However, Andone is unable to keep the ball and Spain recover possession.


Andone runs Pique down the right channel and wins a corner off the Barcelona defender. Stancu's shot deflects for another corner.


CHANCE: Pedro and Mario link up and Spain win a corner - Pique takes down Silva's corner at the far post but shoots straight at Tatarusanu.


Isco replaces Nolito for Spain, as Romania kick off the second half.


Half-time in Cluj, and it ends Romania 0-0 Spain. Spain haven't really threatened but Romania have looked sharp on the break.


One minute of additional time in Cluj-Napoca.


Popa takes on Alba again down the right to win a corner. Stanciu's corner cannot find a yellow shirt, then Popa fouls Silva as the Manchester City man tries to counter and gets the first yellow card of the match.


Pique finds Nolito with a long raking pass but he is unable to find Alcacer at the far post with the cross.


Pedro crosses early from the right but Grigore is across to nick the ball off Alcacer at the near post. Pedro then floats the corner straight into Tatarusanu's hands.


Koke tries to thread a pass through to Alcacer but he mistimes the pass and Romania goalkeeper Tatarusanu can pick up the ball.


David Silva finds space down the right but Sergi Roberto is crowded off the ball and Romania break. Pique is coolness itself to stop the counter-attack at source.


Koke spreads a lovely ball wide and early to Pedro but the Chelsea winger is well offside down the right flank.


Bartra steps forward and tries to thread Nolito though, but Grigore is across to intercept and Romania look to break again.


Romania go long down the right flank but Popa is flagged offside.


Pedro has switched to the right with Nolito now on the left for Spain.


Romania, 16th in the world, have the two-time European champions rocking in the past five minutes.


SAVE: Bartra clears Stanciu's initial header, then Casillas looks unconvincing with the punch, and the Porto man manages to save Stanciu's volley from the edge of the area.


Romania win a throw in down the left as Mario tackles - Stanciu then robs Pique in the Spain box to win a corner.


Koke heads clear a cross from the right, and then Alcacer is fouled by Grigore on the right touchline as the Valencia man tries to hold up play.


Jordi Alba's floated cross from the left is over Alcacer and Romania win back possession.


Romania remind me of Leicester in the speed of transition when Spain lose the ball on the edge of the area. Popa and Stancu are the key men on the break.


SAVE: Romania counter again, and Casillas is forced into a save low to his right from Stanciu after good work from Popa. End to end play in Cluj!


Bartra finds Pedro with a crossfield ball - from second phase, Nolito wins a corner down the left. The Celta man then sees a shot deflected for another corner from another Koke short set-piece.


Silva wins a free-kick 40 yards from goal, but Nolito gives the ball away following a quickly-taken set piece.


Sapunaru tries a speculative shot from distance that sails over Casillas' goal following another quick transition from Romania.


Alcacer concedes a free-kick in the centre circle after miscontrolling an Alba pass with his hands.


Spain, who have been threatened by the pace of Romania on the break, try and hold up play at the back through Bartra. Roberto then wins a foul in midfield following a Pintilli hack.


Chiriches is down following a clash of heads with Silva. Silva heads off for attention but he looks fine.


Nolito cuts inside from the left but his shot lacks power and is easily fielded by Tatarusanu.


More good pressure from Romania, as Stanciu wins a corner off Alba after Bartra had blocked an initial Andone break.


Pedro lose the ball in midfield and Romania try and break, but Spain hold up the attack and Filip goes back to his goalkeeper.


Popa gets free down the left this time, and it needs Jordi Alba out to concede the corner. Casillas does not look confident punching away the corner.


Tatarusanu easily catches Silva's corner, which is too close to the Romania goalkeeper.


Andone catches Pique down the right but French referee Buquet doesn't blow up for a foul. But from the throw, Spain win a corner.


Bartra does well in the air to deal with a long ball down the centre towards Andone.


Pique finds Alcacer with a long pass, but then Silva is just unable to release Nolito. But that was another fine pass from the back by Pique.


SAVE: Smart passing down the left sees Pedro win Spain's third corner of the match after drawing a save from Tatarusani. Koke cannot quite reach Pique with his corner to the back post.


CHANCE: Pique heads Silva's cross towards goal but Tatarusanu tips the ball over the bar, and Romania can clear the subsequent corner.


Pedro runs at Hoban but loses out, although Silva wins the ball back and gets a free kick after being pulled back by Pintilli.


Silva sees a through ball cut out and Romania break at pace but Popa is unable to make anything of the counter-attack.


Popa tries a shot from distance but he cannot beat Casillas, who is winning a European record-equalling 166th cap tonight.


Koke is seeing most of the ball in the Spain midfield, but a La Roja attack breaks down following Nolito's heavy touch.


Popa crosses from the right but Stanciu is unable to get on the end off the cross - that came from a mistake in midfield from Sergi Roberto.


Pique calmly rounds the ball past Andone at the back - such poise from the Barca defender.


A corner for Spain as Silva plays it close to Nolito but the pair are unable to play the one-two out on the left.


Pique already look to build from the back with the long pass. Mario is unable to find Pedro with a throw and Romania clear.


Spain kick off from right to left after an impeccably observed minute's silence for Johan Cruyff.


Spain qualified for Euro 2016 after bouncing back from a shock defeat to Slovakia by winning eight successive matches without conceding a single goal to top the group. La Roja, winners of Euro 2008 and Euro 2012, face the Czech Republic, Croatia and Turkey in Group D in France.


World 16th-ranked Romania beat Lithuania 1-0 in Wednesday international friendly at the Marin Anastasovici Stadium in Giurgiu, thanks to Nicolae Stanciu's fine long-range effort. Romania have been drawn in Group A with hosts France, Switzerland and Albania at Euro 2016 in June.

The Tricolorii are unbeaten in their last 16 friendlies and qualifiers, a run that goes back to June 2014, and Anghel Iordanescu's side conceded just two goals in qualifying for the Euro 2016 finals as Group F runners-up to Michael O'Neill's Northern Ireland.


For those who like conspiracy theories, there are no Real Madrid players on show the week before El Clasico, and four from Barcelona, Pique, Marc Bartra, Jordi Alba and Sergi Roberto.


Vincent del Bosque's side recorded a 1-1 draw with Italy on Thursday at the Stadio Friuli, thanks to 35-year-old Aritz Aduriz's first-ever international goal on only his second appearance for his country, and another dominant display from Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea.


Iker Casillas replaces David de Gea in goal, but the Porto stopper will make way for Sevilla's Sergio Rico for the final 30 minutes. Vincent del Bosque has made ten changes from the side that started the 1-1 draw with Italy on Thursday, with Gerard Pique the only player to keep his place. Sergio Ramos sustained a back injury against the Azzurri, so Barca team-mate Marc Bartra partners Pique in central defence.
