France continued their warm-up for the World Cup with an impressive 3-1 victory over Italy that saw both Antoine Griezmann and Ousmane Dembele score as well as Samuel Umtiti.
France started brighter and they pressed their opponents hard from the off.
Their reward game when a corner was sent back in by Benjamin Pavard and after Salvatore Sirigu saved Kylian Mbappe's shot Umtiti was in the right place at the right time to turn the ball home.

They doubled their lead through Griezmann's penalty just before the half-hour mark but Italy pulled one back when Leonardo Bonucci tapped in after Hugo Lloris failed to hold on to Mario Balotelli's free-kick.
France continued to have chances in a very entertaining game and their third was the icing on the cake as Dembele curled a wonderful first-time shot into the top corner.

TALKING POINT

France's young stars look ready to win now. Going into this match some of the talk was on how Roberto Mancini will bring through the next generation of Italian players. There are certainly some very talented players in this pool, but France are a level above. Griezmann led the line well even if it perhaps isn't his best position whilst Dembele and Mbappe buzzed in and around him throughout. Pavard and Hernandez did not look out of place and Tolisso continues to improve in that midfield three. There are options everywhere and France are hugely exciting to watch, they will be a real threat in Russia.

MAN OF THE MATCH

N'Golo Kante (France) Dembele and Mbappe were both excellent but this was another reminder that Kante is a vital cog in this France team. If Paul Pogba has a game where he struggles, as he may do at times, then Kante is absolutely crucial is holding the midfield together. His game for France is the same as it is for Chelsea except he looks even more comfortable because he has that extra man in midfield.

63' - GOAL! FRANCE 3-1 ITALY (DEMBELE) Oh that is sublime from Dembele. Mbappe is selfish and should really pass but he tries to go it alone and gets tackled. The ball bounces out to Dembele on the left of the box and he doesn't take a touch, curling a beautiful first-time finish into the corner.
