Koeman will be pleased with that. This was a big week for the Dutch and they have come out of it with a win over Germany in the Nations League and a draw against Belgium away from home in a friendly. This was a good game. Chances at both ends. Draw was probably fair.

- End of 2nd Half
FULL TIME: Belgium 1-1 Netherlands
Chance wasted! This time the delivery is clipped into the penalty area, but Boyata was adjudged to have fouled his man at the back post and Netherlands get away with one.
- Yellow cardHans HateboerNetherlands
A yellow card to Hateboer after he brought down Hazard about 20 yards out from goal.
Three minutes of stoppage time to be played at the end of the match.
Hazard... OVER! Hazard, of the Thorgan variety, stands over the freekick 25 yards out, he gets the necessary whip on his effort, but he doesn't get the dip and the effort flies over.
One last chance for Belgium here? They have been awarded a freekick 20 yards out from goal... stay tuned.
This match has rediscovered its edge in the last few moments. It had fallen into a lull around the 70th minute mark, but both teams are pressing for a winner once again!
It looked like Belgium were going to run away with this match early on. They took an early lead and were well on top, But Netherlands have done really well to work their way back into the contest.
Denied by the goalkeeper! The low ball from Witsel to the near post found Batshuayi, but his guided, first time shot is beaten away by Cillessen. Belgium cranking things up!
- Yellow cardTonny VilhenaNetherlands
Now Vilhena joins Boyata in the book. One yellow card apiece for the two teams.
- OffYouri TielemansBelgium
- OnYannick CarrascoBelgium
On comes Carrasco for the final few minutes. The momentum is starting to get away from Belgium.
From distance! Memphis lines up the freekick effort from the best part of 25 yards out, but Mignolet watches the strike all the way and makes the save at the second attempt.
- Yellow cardDedryck BoyataBelgium
The first yellow card of the match is shown to Boyata for a foul 25 yards out.
Now Rosario heads wide! That might have been a goal for the debutant had he managed to strain his neck a little further. In the end, his header bounces wide of the target.
Ake header! Mignolet pulls off the solid save to deny Ake from close range. The former Chelsea man powered a header from a corner kick towards goal, but Mignolet pulls off the stop.
How didn't that go in? The ball fell back to Bergwijn inside the Belgian penalty area. His shot is deflected up and over the goal though. Replays show that it might have been a handball!
Depay is dropping deep to pick up the ball and drive it forward. He has been given something of a free role by Koeman for this game tonight. He's playing in the Messi role.
You might be able to translate this...
Is there a winner left in this game for either of these two teams? The changes have definitely disrupted things, but there's still a lot of quality left on the pitch. Let's be hopeful...
- OffTimothy CastagneBelgium
- OnThomas MeunierBelgium
Normal service is resumed and Meunier comes on for Castagne at right back.
- OffKevin StrootmanNetherlands
- OnLuuk de JongNetherlands
De Jong of PSV Eindhoven is another who Koeman has decided to throw on.
- OffQuincy PromesNetherlands
- OnSteven BergwijnNetherlands
Bergwijn comes on for the Dutch for the final 20 minutes of this match.
Vilhena strike! The Dutch come flying forward on the counter attack, with Vilhena taking aim from a long way out. But Denayer managed to get his body in the way of the strike.
There's not a whole lot happening in this game at the moment. It looks like Martinez might be about to make some changes, but that's about it. It has lost its way since the first half.
Elsewhere in Netherlands' Nations League group, Griezmann has just scored an equaliser for France against Germany. Netherlands' win over Germany last week put them in a good position.
Vilhena looks like he's full of beans since coming on. He has been an important player for Feyenoord for a number of years, but he clearly wants to make an impression for his country.
The tempo and intensity has fallen out of this game over the past 10 minutes or so. Could it be that the international break is starting to catch up with some of these players?
- OffDonny van de BeekNetherlands
- OnTonny VilhenaNetherlands
And the second change in quick succession from the away side sees Vilhena come on.
- OffArnaut Danjuma GroeneveldNetherlands
- OnPatrick van AanholtNetherlands
Indeed, here comes Van Aanholt for the Dutch off the bench.
Looks like Koeman is going to make at least one change to his Dutch team. Van Aanholt is ready to come on. Will there be others? Fellaini is stil sitting in his tracksuit on the Belgian bench.
There has been some chatter in Dutch footballing circles over the role of Blind in this team. That has been the story of his career - where is his real position? Where is he at his best?
The first half was an extremely entertaining affair, and despite a number of changes made by both sides, it seems that it has picked up where it left over before the half time break.
Cillessen makes the save! The Dutch goalkeeper is forced into action, with Batshuayi powering a strong header towards goal from a corner. The Belgian striker is denied, though.
Tielemens, deflected! Just for a moment that looked like it was going to dribble in at the near post, but Tielemens' shot from the edge of the box is deflected and goes behind for a corner.
- OffDries MertensBelgium
- OnDennis PraetBelgium
The final change made at the break (still running through these) was Praet.
Batshuayi was through! That was a mistake from Rosario just minutes after coming on that allowed Batshuayi through on goal, but under pressure from Cillessen he put his effort wide.
- OffRomelu LukakuBelgium
- OnMichy BatshuayiBelgium
Batshuayi, the Chelsea striker on loan at Valencia, comes on for Belgium for the second half.

- End of 1st Half
HALF TIME: Belgium 1-1 Netherlands. What an excellent opening 45 minutes of football. Belgium started the better of the two teams, but the Dutch have come roaring back.
Apologies for the delay in bringing you updates from this game. Some technical problems on our end of things which have now been resolved. Yes, I turned it on and off again...
Mertens... side-foots wide! That was a chance for Belgium to regain the lead, but Mertens puts his guided effort wide of the post when he really should have tested Cillessen.
This has been an excellent game to watch so far. It hasn't been played as a friendly at all. Now Belgium are starting to take a grip of things after a good spell from Netherlands.
Smashed off the post! That could have been a second for the Dutch, who really have their tails up at the moment. Promes struck it from long range, but it comes back off the inside of the post.
This has turned into a very even game. Belgium dominated the opening 10 minutes and might have had a couple, but the Dutch have hit back in the past 15 minutes or so.
They might not play with an out and out central striker, but Netherlands attack with so much potency and threat on the break. Belgium couldn't deal with them for the equaliser!
- GoalArnaut Danjuma GroeneveldNetherlands
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Belgium 1 Netherlands 1 (28 mins - Arnaut Danjuma Groeneveld). The Dutch are back on level terms! What a breakaway it was. It might have come against the run of play, but Depay swept a cross into Groeneveld and he finished into the back of the net. We're level again!
Castagne has been given the chance to impress tonight by Martinez. Meunier has been Belgium's firts choice right back for a number of years, but this is an opportunity for Castagne.
So nearly a second! Alderweireld spurns the first chance from a corner kick and then Boyata couldn't react in time, flicking the ball past the far post when the Dutch goal was gaping.
Just when I was singing the praises of Depay, he misses that chance. He scored 22 times for Lyon last season, but Mignolet closed down the angle to deny the winger there.
Depay should have scored! What an opportunity for the Dutch to get back on level terms! The pass through was made by Promes, but Mignolet came off his line to make the save from Depay.
For a friendly, this match has been played at a remarkable tempo. Both teams are looking to attack whenever they can, although the Belgians are having more joy in that respect.
While Nethelands boast quality all over the pitch, they are lacking an out and out central striker, and that's why Depay has been used in that position by Koeman since his appointment.
Depay has been in excellent form for both club and country in recent weeks. The Lyon winger has scored seven goals in his last 10 appearances for Netherlands. He's found his groove.
The Dutch took their time on getting the cross into the box from the corner kick, with Depay eventually getting the delivery in. But Mignolet came off his line to match the catch.
That was a decent cross from Chadli, who has been given the nod ahead of Carrasco in the left wing position for this match, but there was nobody gambling on getting on the end of it.
Chance for Lukaku! The Belgium number nine might have done better with that. Mertens dug out a cross from the byline, but Lukaku just couldn't get over it and heads over the bar.
For the first time in the match, Netherlands have the chance to gain a foothold in the match. They are knocking the ball around the middle of the pitch to find some control.
Another young Dutch player with a big future ahead of him is De Jong. He has also been linked with Barcelona, as well as Spurs. Ajax will command a big fee for the midfielder.
There is so much young talent in this Dutch team. De Ligt in central defence is a player wanted by pretty much every elite team in the European game right now. Barcelona are interested.
Koeman's Netherlands side came into this game on the back of a massive Nations League win over Germany last week, but this has been a difficult 10 minutes for them.
This has been an excellent start to this match by Belgium. They haven't let up since scoring that opening goal. It's one way stuff at the moment. The Dutch just can't get out.
That's the first goal that Mertens has scored for Belgium since the World Cup, and what a goal it was. That's what the Napoli winger can offer. He is capable of those sort of stunners.
- GoalDries MertensBelgium
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Belgium 1 (5 mins - Dries Mertens) Netherlands 0. What a sensational strike! Belgium have an early lead! Hazard's cross dropped to Mertens at the back post and he rifled a half volley on the spin high into the roof of the Dutch net! There were THREE players on the line to clear!
This might just be a friendly, but both managers have selected strong teams. Martinez could have been forgiven for resting the likes of Hazard and Lukaku, but they start.
These are two countries that know themselves well, given that they are neighbours. But Netherlands' recent form against Belgium hasn't been that good. They'll want to correct that.
Belgium have started right away on the front foot. The Dutch are being pegged back inside their own half, with Hazard having a cross into the box from the right side blocked.
- 1st Half
The match is under way! It's Belgium against Netherlands in this international friendly.
Okay, here we go. About to get under way in Brussels.
Out they walk and we will now have the national anthems before the start of the match.
Not long until kick off in Brussels now. The two teams are just about to walk out at this famous, old stadium.
Will this man be on form this evening?
Defensive shuffle! Martinez has changed things up at the back for this game. He has handed starts to Boyata and Denayer. One player plays for Celtic, the other used to.
I'm Graham Ruthven and you can catch me on Twitter ahead of the game to let me know your thoughts. Could Netherlands be the next force in international football? Tweet me!
Changes! Given that this is a friendly match it's unsurprising that both Martinez and Koeman have made changes to their teams. Van Dijk and Babel have dropped out of the Dutch side.
