Well, Tite will be pleased with how his team played in the second half. The introduction of Neymar off the bench gave the match a shot in the arm, with the forward providing the highlight of the game. There was much more urgency about Brazilian's play with their best player on the pitch.

- End of 2nd Half
FULL TIME: Brazil 2-0 Croatia
- GoalRoberto FirminoBrazil
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Brazil 2 (93 mins - Roberto Firmino) Croatia 0. A second goal for the Selecao and it's Firmino who nets it in front of his own fans! It was poor defending from Croatia, but the striker nipped in and lobbed a finish over Subasic.
Er,, that was somewhat ambitious from Firmino. He was set up for the full volley by Neymar on the edge of the box, but he lashed his effort well over the bar. He sees the funny side.
Just three minutes of stoppage time to be played at the end of the match.
- OffŠime VrsaljkoCroatia
- OnTin JedvajCroatia
One final change for Croatia and that will be all the subs. Finally.
FIRMINO CHANCE! The Brazil striker wriggles into the opposition box and takes aim, but the angle was tight and his shot flashes past the near post. That would have been popular with the natives.
- OffIvan RakiticCroatia
- OnFilip BradaricCroatia
Croatia bring on Bradaric for the final few minutes. Is there a chance at an equaliser left in this for them?
Neymar lines up the freekick 30 yards out, but his effort flashes past the near post with Subasic confident that he had his angles covered. That should have been played into the box.
Taison also comes on for Brazil for the final few minutes of this game.
The rumour is that after this match Fred, who has just come off the bench for Brazil, will be off to Carrington, just down the road, to complete his transer to Manchester United.
- Yellow cardIvan RakiticCroatia
Rakitic enters the book. For a friendly match, there have been quite a number of yellow cards.
- OffPhilippe CoutinhoBrazil
Coutinho comes off and gets an ovation from the natives at Anfield. Fred comes on to replace him.
Brazil are about to make a couple more changes, so you can wave goodbye to the next five minutes of play. The worst thing about international friendlies is the way the subs disrupt play.
Willian was desperate to open up some space for the shot, shifting the ball on to his right foot, but the Croatian defender stuck with him and made the block from the Chelsea man.
Croatia have lost their way since the start of the second half. They probably edged the opening 45 minutes, but they have struggled to create anything in the final third since.
This Brazil team have been far from their best this afternoon, they have lacked drive and imagination at times, but Neymar has given them that in the second half. So important.
There's just so much more energy about the whole game whenever Neymar gets on the ball. This is what he brings you. He is the attacking hub of the Selecao. Everything happens through him.
If that's Neymar when he's stil recovering his fitness, I can't wait to see what he will be like at the World Cup. That was a moment of great invidual class from the forward. Brilliant.
Well, that was quite something. It felt like this match was meandering to a goalless finish, but Neymar has just created a highlight reel moment. Sensation goal from the 26-year-old.
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Brazil 1 (70 mins - Neymar) Croatia 0. He's back! Neymar has made his return from injury and he has found the net! Great skill from the Paris Saint-Germain man, cutting inside on to his right foot and slamming a finish high into the opposition net. What a goal that it! Wow!
And ANOTHER change, this time for Brazil. The young centre back Marquinhos is on for the Selecao.
- OffAnte RebicCroatia
- OnMarko PjacaCroatia
And here's another change for Croatia, with Pjaca coming on. Can he make an impact?
It looks like Tite wants his team to be a bit faster, move quicker through the lines of transition. That was the issue in the first half. Brazil were just too predictable going forward.
- OffMilan BadeljCroatia
- OnMarcelo BrozovicCroatia
And a change for Croatia as well, with Brozovic coming on for the final 25 minutes.
- OffGabriel JesusBrazil
- OnRoberto FirminoBrazil
And here comes Firmino, who gets a huge reception from the natives inside Anfield.
- OnFilipe LuísBrazil
It's Marcelo who is the first change and Filipe comes on for the left back. Not a bad option to have.
It looks like Brazil are going to make a couple of changes here. This is the point of these matches when the changes and rung and the flow of the match is disrupted for about 15 minutes.
ALISSON INTO ACTION! The cross into the Brazil penalty area was a good one, with Rebic getting on the end of the delivery, but Alisson pulls off the save to deny him the goal.
Surely Croatia will find a way to accomodate Kovacic, Modric and Rakitic all in the same team for the World Cup this summer. They could have the best midfield at the tournament.
- OffLuka ModricCroatia
- OnMateo KovacicCroatia
A change for Croatia, with Modric coming on to be replaced by Kovacic.
HE'S HIT THE ROOF! Well, not sure that I have seen that before. The ball was played back to Danilo on the edge of the box and he's actually managed to hit the roof of the Kop with his shot.
Hopefully we will see more in the way of goalscoring opportunities in the final 35 minutes of this match because to be completely honest it has been slim pickings up until this point.
The natives at Anfield for this game want to see Firmino and I'd suggest that th Liverpool striker probably will get some game time before the afternoon is out. He'll surely come on.
- OffVedran CorlukaCroatia
- OnDuje Caleta-CarCroatia
Caleta-Car comes on for Croatia, with Corluka coming off. Is that due to an injury?
The Selecao started the first half well, but slowly faded over the course of the opening 45 minutes. Tite will want to see more from his team in the final third in this second half.
However, this isn't to say that the return of Neymar from injury won't have a positive impact on this Brazil team. The PSG forward is still their main man, their main goal threat.
At the last World Cup the hopes and dreams of Brazil, the host nation, were heaped on the shoulders of Neymar. Now, the Selecao aren't so dependant on him. They can cope.
HE'S BACK! Good news for Brazil at the start of the second half, with Neymar returning from a long term injury. The forward will want to use this game to improve his fitness.
- 2nd Half
The second half is under way Anfield. It's still goalless between Brazil and Croatia.
What did you make of the first half at Anfield? Does Tite need to make some changes to his side? Should Croatia be pleased with how they have done so far? Tweet me!
- End of 1st Half
HALF TIME: Brazil 0-0 Croatia. An entertaining, if not absorbing, first half at Anfield between two teams who have struggled to create many opportunities in front of goal.
Vrsaljko is back on the pitch, but now sporting a Terry Butcher style bandage around his head. That will be a relief to Croatian fans. The full back is a key player for his national team.
VRSALJKO INJURY! The Atletico Madrid full back still hasn't got up off the ground after that collision with Fernandinho. Might Vrsaljko have to come off for Croatia here? He's back up for now.
Three yellow cards in the first half of an international friendly is slightly unusual, but all three bookings have been deserved. That was a bad one from Fernaninho on Vrsaljko.
Another yellow card, with Fernandinho entering the book for a high foot on Vrsaljko.
- Yellow cardIvan PerišicCroatia
Perisic picks up Croatia's second booking for a sore one on Jesus as he broke forward.
Corluka is one of the players who will be hoping to use this game to underline his World Cup credentials. There have been some questions held against the defender's fitness.
Paulinho gets to the byline, where he is passed in by Willian. But there was nobody in the middle for the Brazilian to aim for and the goalkeeper can make the simple gather.
Brazil are struggling to get things going in the final third of the pitch at the moment. There's not much fluidity to their play, which will be somewhat concerning to Tite on the touchline.
DOUBLE BLOCK! Paulinho takes aim from the edge of the opposition box, but Croatia pull of a double block to deny the midfielder. Corluka threw himself in front of that effort!
CLEARED AWAY! That might just have been creeping in at the far post. Willian scuffed his shot from the right side, but a Croatian defender was back on the line to make the clearance.
Marcelo has looked lively for Brazil early on, but so far the left back has been unable to provide an attacking outlet in the way he usually does for both the Selecao and Real Madrid.
One Brazilian player who isn't in the starting lineup for this game is Fred. This game is being played at Anfield and there are reports that he will undergo a Man Utd medical before leaving this part of the world.
There hasn't been much in the way of goalmouth action in the opening 30 minutes of this match. Both Brazil and Croatia have made it into good positions, but have wasted chances.
Tite has so many options. Brazil are truly stacked with attacking talent. Neymar and Firmino aren't involved in the starting lineup today. Will we see them off the bench later on?
COUTINHO TRIES AGAIN! The former Liverpool playmaker tries his luck for the second time in just a few minutes, but he couldn't wrap his foot around the shot and shoots high and wide.
From before kick off...
COUTINHO OVER! First chance for the Liverpool natives at Anfield to see their former favourite in goalmouth action, but from the edge of the box Coutinho scoops his finish over.
Brazil are now taking more of a grip of this game, especially in the centre of the pitch. That's no mean feat when you consider that they are up against Modric and Rakitic in there.
That's a late tackle from Lovren on Paulinho. I don't think there was much malice in the challenge from the Liverpool centre back, but he was certainly late and it looked a sore one.
Alisson is in goals for Brazil this afternoon. The goalkeeper has been linked strongly with a move to Liverpool, where this game is being played today. Maybe he'll have a look around.
Marcelo has been making good use of the raking, diagonal pass from left to right. This time, though, Willian is caught offside. The Chelsea forward should have been watching the line.
This has been a shaky start to the game by Brazil, but they have so much quality in the attacking areas that they could open up Croatia at any given time. They must be wary.
Silva is back on his feet, but gingerly. All of a sudden, Miranda has played him into trouble and Croatia intercept. The former Atleti centre back didn't do his teammate many favours there.
SILVA IS DOWN! This could be a concern for Brazil. The Paris Saint-Germain centre back is down on the ground with an injury after that tackle from Kramaric. Losing him would be a blow.
- Yellow cardAndrej KramaricCroatia
Kramaric enters the book early on for a high foot going into a challenge. Deserved for the Croatia forward.
NOT FAR AWAY! First real chance for either side, with Lovren getting on the end of a corner kick. However, the Croatian centre back sends his header just past the post. Not far away at all.
There is some pressure on Croatia this summer to squeeze the last out of their golden generation. This is a team that has underachieved at recent major tournaments. Their fans want more.
It's been a good start to the match by Brazil, but Croatia have shown that they can cause problems for the Selecao when they have the ball at their feet. Should be a good contest.
Kramaric was in behind the Brazilian backline for a moment, but he had to turn back when he found that he had no support up with him inside the opposition penalty area.
There's a place in the Brazil midfield for Paulinho, who comes into this World Cup on the back of a very positive first season for Barcelona. He has been a surprise success in Catalonia.
Of course, Coutinho is back at Anfield today. The playmaker left Liverpool to join Barcelona in the January transfer window. They adored him on Merseyside during his time there.
Modric and Rakitic form the midfield unit for Croatia in the centre of the pitch. That's where they will be at their strongest. They can dictate games from there. They also have Kovacic on the bench.
Jesus is the Brazil captain this afternoon and that makes the Manchester City forward the youngest skipper in the history of the Selecao. Much is expected of the youngster.
World Cup warm up matches don't get much better than this. Brazil will surely be among the frontrunners in Russia this summer, with Croatia also strong enough to compete as well.
