England seal their World Cup warm-ups with a convincing victory in front of a lively Elland Road crowd.
Costa Rica were poor, but yet Gareth Southgate will have learnt a lot about his players. He now has 11 days to prepare the Three Lions for their World Cup opener against Tunisia on June 18.
Three minutes will be added on.
ITV have handed Marcus Rashford the Man of the Match award this evening. No surprise at all, the 20-year-old has been a real livewire, particularly in the first-half.
Pope makes his first save of the evening as he is well positioned at his near post to collect Matarrita's effort.
The impressive performance of Ruben Lofus-Cheek in central midfield is one of many positives boss Gareth Southgate will take away from tonight's friendly, though it would still come as a surprise if he starts against Tunisia.
Into the final five minutes and this game is virtually dead as a contest; it has been for some time.
A half-chance for Costa Rica comes to nothing as Marrita volleys wide at the back post.
Alli wins the ball back for England before threading a ball through for Lingard. He delays his shot and then sees his effort deflected behind for a corner.

ENGLAND SUB: Loftus-Cheek is replaced by Jesse Lingard.
That is now eight goals in 12 appearances for Welbeck in an England shirt.

GOAAAAALLLLLL! England 2-0 Costa Rica
Alli exchanges passes with Rashford down the left before curling a cross to the back post where Welbeck is perfectly positioned to head the ball into the back of the net. A lovely goal.
Welbeck's cross is flicked on to Rose in space on the left-side of the box, but he swipes at it, screwing his shot wide of goal.
It has all gone rather flat, which tends to be the case in friendly matches when both sides make numerous substitutions at once.

COSTA RICA SUB: The promising 20-year-old Ian Smith comes on for Gamboa.

- OnYeltsin TejedaCosta Rica
COSTA RICA SUB: Guzman is replaced by Yeltsin Tejeda for the remaining 20 minutes.
Trippier can't quite get the curl he needs to find the bottom corner as his shot drifts wide of Navas' far-post.
Loftus-Cheek drives forward only to be hauled down by Matarrita who goes into the book for his trouble. England have a free-kick, in a central area around 30 yards from goal.
It's a big night for Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope who makes his first appearance for England.
- OnDele AlliEngland
England subs, several of them.
Henderson, Alexander-Arnold, Butland and Stones are replaced by Alli, Trippier, Pope and Cahill.
Loftus-Cheek wriggles through midfield and tries his luck from 30 yards whilst off balance. Rather predictably, his shot trickles out for a goal-kick. He had better options available to him, with team mates in support either side.
- OnDanny WelbeckEngland
ENGLAND SUB: The virtually anonymous Vardy is replaced by Danny Welbeck.
- OffCosta Rica
- OnRónald MatarritaCosta Rica
COSTA RICA SUBS: Matarrita and Bolanos are on, Oviedo and Campbell go off.
Borges rifles a shot at goal but can't keep his effort down, failing to test Butland from the edge of the penalty area.
Maguire is back to fulfil his defensive duties, narrowing the angle on Campbell and making an excellent block to deny his effort from the top of the box.
Maguire wriggles free to meet Alexander-Arnold's corner delivery but his header is cleared off the line by Oviedo.
Henderson, from all of 25 yards, unloads a powerful effort at goal, forcing Navas into a decent stop. Can England threaten from the resulting corner?
It's been a breath of fresh air watching Alexander-Arnold deliver set-pieces this evening; certainly much more hopeful than Kane's attempts at Euro 2016. It's great that Southgate trusts his debutant with such a responsibility - and the young Liverpool full-back hasn't let his manager down.
Rashford drifts out wide to receive possession before feeding Delph who has plenty of team mates to aim for in the middle but sees his cross blocked.
Butland called into action for just the second time this evening - Urena tries a shot from 20 yards but it's easily held by the Stoke No 1.
Rose's beautifully-weighted pass looks to have unlocked the Costa Rica defence but Vardy is flagged inches offside.
Exciting times for England?
- 2nd Half
Costa Rica get the second period underway. It's worth noting that neither side made any changes at the interval.
- End of 1st Half
And that's that for the first-half, folks. Gareth Southgate will be delighted with how his experimental side have played and will be hoping the Three Lions can translate their dominance into more goals after the break.
There will be one minute added on at the end of a one-sided first-half.
Rashford has been thoroughly impressive in the first-half, but Alexander-Arnold hasn't been half bad either...
England continue to dominate possession but the game is currently being played at a snail's pace.
Costa Rica produce a rare attack, as Campbell gets the wrong side of Maguire but wastes the opportunity with a poor cross that rolls harmlessly out for a goal-kick.
Delph takes the corner, finding Maguire who heads it into the six-yard box but Costa Rica scramble clear.
Rashford is too quick for Gamboa who resorts to hauling down the England forward to stop him. England have a free-kick, which Alexander-Arnold swings in towards the near post and Costa Rica head it behind for yet another corner.
Gonzalez has to be at full-stretch to intercept Alexander-Arnold's devilish cross, conceding another corner but England fail to threaten from the resulting set-piece.
It's a strike the youngster will remember for some time...
Henderson's cross is searching for Vardy but there's slightly too much zip on the ball and the Leicester forward is unable to meet it.
England play a corner short, with Henderson feeding the ball into the feet of Rashford. The 20-year-old tries to be a little too clever inside the box and runs into trouble.
Are you watching, Southgate?
Again it's Delph who delivers and again Costa Rica win the free-kick for a foul on Navas.
Loftus-Cheek uses his body cleverly to win a free-kick in a dangerous position. The Chelsea man has been rather impressive in that central midfield role thus far.
Here's Vardy's earlier chance...
Butland called into action for the first time this evening, as he produces a strong one-handed save to deny Venegas. Decent stop.
Henderson loses possession spectacularly, kicking the ball into the crowd and into the face of a spectator...
Raheem Sterling has been Southgate's first-choice striker as support for Harry Kane, but on this showing Rashford may be changing his manager's mind...
The corner delivery is only partially cleared by Costa Rica, Maguire heads it back into dangerous territory, right into the path of Vardy with only the goalkeeper to beat... but Navas makes himself big and makes the block.
He's playing with a real swagger now, is Rashford. He dances past another defender before forcing a corner.
It's been all England since the goal - Southgate's side stroking the ball around confidently. The players actually look like they are enjoying playing for their country, which hasn't always been the case at times over the years.
Here we go, have a look at this...
Rose is found in acres of space on the overlap and swings in a cross to the near post but Calvo is alert to the danger and heads clear.
Just watch Rashford grow in confidence now. What a strike that was.

GOAAAALLLLL! England 1-0 Costa Rica
A goal, right out the top drawer from Rashford, 25 yards out! The young Manchester United forward peels off his marker, checks onto his stronger right foot and smashes a venomous, dipping shot into the top corner, leaving Real Madrid goalkeeper Navas with no chance.
England are controlling possession at the moment, waiting patiently for a hole to appear in Costa Rica's rigid defence.
Jones rises highest to power a header at goal and Navas has to be alert to tip it over the bar.
A piece of wonderful skill from Rashford allows him to skip by Waston at the by-line but Campbell tracks back to make the challenge and concede a corner before the Manchester United forward can cross.
It's floated into the penalty box... but Maguire is all over Costa Rica's goalkeeper Navas and the free-kick is awarded to the visitors.
Loftus-Cheek is barged over by Calvo, winning England a free-kick on the right flank. Delph to swing it in...
Alexander-Arnold delivers... headed clear by Gonzalez.
Ooo, what have we here? A lovely bit of flair from Rashford as he picks out Jones on the edge of the box but he fails to get a shot away.
Rashford and Vardy combine, finding Delph who drills a cross into the box - cleared. England come again though, forcing the first corner of the match.
The supporters in Leeds are in fine voice as England look to make a bright start. The hosts are playing in red this evening.
- 1st Half
And we are off! So here we go, one final chance for England to impress before the World Cup begins.
The players are out on the pitch and now it's time for the national anthems. Kick-off is almost upon us...
Who is your first-choice goalkeeper?
Jordan Henderson features from the start this evening after missing England's victory over Nigeria having earned a well-earned rest after his Champions League adventures with Liverpool.
A matter of months ago Henderson was probably assured of his starting place at the World Cup but the form of Eric Dier has given Southgate a selection headache.
Will Henderson impress tonight?
So it appears Southgate's England will operate with a 3-5-2 formation this evening in this largely experimental team.
Maguire, Stones and Jones make up the three-man defence. They are flanked by wing-backs Rose and Alexander-Arnold with Henderson playing a holding role in midfield. Delph and Loftus-Cheek are expected to be the creative forces in the side and to provide support to strikers Vardy and Rashford.
NO ROOM FOR COMPLACENCY - SOUTHGATE
Gareth Southgate has told his players there are no guaranteed starters at the World Cup: "There are a couple of places that always as a manager you are looking at who your better players are but then form and physical conditional means it always evolves, a football team is a moving, living beast. Everyone has to stay on their toes all the time, there is no room for complacency in training or slipping of standards. I am not sitting two weeks before a game and saying 'That's it, you're comfortable as you're in'."
TEN CHANGES FOR ENGLAND
Only John Stones keeps his place from the Three Lions side that overcame Nigeria 2-1 on Saturday.
Jack Butland is between the sticks, Trent Alexander-Arnold makes his debut in defence while there are opportunities for Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Marcus Rashford and Jamie Vardy to impress in attacking positions.
