Great save! Courtois is finally forced into a meaningful save and he's at full stretch to keep out Brekalo's well-struck effort.
Two minutes to be added on here.
What a save! You would put your house on Lukaku scoring his second here as he attacks Vanaken's pin-point cross but Livakovic somehow makes the save from point-blank range and then reacts quickest to scramble the ball clear before Lukaku can poke home the rebound.
Chance! Tielemans releases Thorgan Hazard with a beautiful pass. Racing down the left, he should go it alone but instead tries to play it back to Lukaku only to find a Croatian defender.
Lukaku is ready and waiting to pounce for a second goal but Vida gets across to make a vital interception and cut out Doka's cross from the left on the stretch.
Hazard's first contribution sees him conceding possession. Croatia attack but Orsic selfishly goes for goal from distance, leaning back and striking the ball well over.
- OffLeander DendonckerBelgium
- OnEden HazardBelgium
Belgium subs: Finally, Eden Hazard is on, replacing Dendoncker for the last nine minutes. Carrasco also makes way for Jeremy Doku.
- OffIvan PerišicCroatia
- OnMislav OršicCroatia
Croatia sub: Perisic makes way for Mislav Orsic.
Courtois makes the most routine of saves as Vlasic tries his luck from distance. Croatia are lacking a genuine out-and-out goalscorer and you fear they may struggle in the competition.
Possession stats: Belgium 50% - Croatia 50%.
Martinez said he would use all six of his substitutes tonight and so far he has introduced three of them. The large number of switches has already hugely disrupted this game, which had been a decent watch in parts.
- OffNacer ChadliBelgium
- OnThorgan HazardBelgium
Belgium sub: No sign of Eden yet but his brother Thorgan comes on for Chadli.
- OffBruno PetkovicCroatia
- OnJosip BrekaloCroatia
Croatia sub: Petkovic is replaced by Josip Brekalo.
Brozovic swings in another corner, but Courtois is off his line quickly to push the ball clear from danger. The Belgian goalkeeper hasn't had much to do tonight but he's looked sharp when called upon.
- OffDries MertensBelgium
- OnHans VanakenBelgium
Belgium sub: Hans Vanaken comes on for Mertens.
Croatia have been more adventurous since the restart and they're getting plenty of bodies forward now. Brozovic forces a corner but Lukaku is back to fulfil his defensive duties, clearing at the near post with a powerful header. It's been quite a performance from the Inter forward.
- OffAnte RebicCroatia
- OnAndrej KramaricCroatia
Treble Croatia switch: Andrej Kramaric, Nikola Vlasic and Mario Pasalic come on for Rebic, Kovacic and Modric.
Surrounded by the opposition in his own half, Lukaku displays beautiful close control, pace and power to drive forward before spreading it wide to Carrasco, who delivers a poor cross.
Chance! Chadli does well to keep the ball in play on the left and he has time to look up and assess his options, delivering a beautiful cross into the middle. Lukaku looks odds on to score his second but his header is blocked by Gvardiol and Belgium have to settle for a corner.
Modric has been close to his brilliant best tonight and he helps Croatia win another corner. Vida is penalised for a foul on Tielemans just as the Real Madrid star delivered the set-piece.
Carrasco should score! Having hit the crossbar in the first half, Carrasco really should be on the scoresheet now, as he controls a cross from the right flank but his shot from close range is always rising and fails to test Livakovic.
Save! And here he is, Gvardiol drives down the left and delivers a dangerous cross. Petkovic arrives late in the box to meet it but fails to generate enough power in his header to beat Courtois. That's Croatia's first shot on target.
It may be a 'friendly' game but the tackles are certainly flying in, no one is holding back in either side.
This is Gvardiol's international debut and he can play at left-back but also at centre-back. A big career with Croatia is expected.
- 2nd Half
Kick-off! Belgium get us underway in the second-half. There has been one change for each side, with Barisic making way for Josko Gvardiol for Croatia and Vertonghen is replaced by Thomas Vermaelen for Belgium.
- End of 1st Half
Half-time: Belgium take a deserved lead into the half-time break thanks to Romelu Lukaku's close-range effort in the 38th-minute.
Just the one minute to be added on at the end of the first half.
Belgium finishing the half on a high as Carrasco wins and then takes the corner, but once more it comes to nothing.
Lukaku has been excellent so far and now wins Belgium another free-kick. You just wonder how long Martinez will keep his star man on the pitch tonight.
- GoalRomelu LukakuBelgium
GOAL! Belgium 1-0 Croatia (Romelu Lukaku): The opening goal has been coming and it's absolutely no surprise that it's Lukaku who grabs it. Croatia fail to clear their lines from a corner, Mertens keeps it alive as he floats a cross to the far post, Vertonghen rises highest to nod it on, Denayer wins his header and Lukaku hooks it home from point-blank range.
Carrasco is swarmed by Croatian defenders but does well to get a shot away, although it's comfortable for Livakovic.
Barisic gets a knock to the face as he clears the corner and must leave the field for treatment for a bloodied nose. Croatia are temporarily down to 10 men.
Well, that's one way to stop him. Lukaku is fouled by Caleta-Car as Belgium win a free-kick in a dangerous central area. Mertens slams the resulting free-kick into the wall but wins a corner.
Save! Lukaku looks like he's in the mood tonight as he controls a difficult ball, makes the space to get a shot away from the angle and forces Livakovic into a save.
Off the woodwork, twice! Oh my, how have Belgium not scored?! It's a chance out of nothing really as Lukaku controls a long ball on his chest, swivels and gets a shot away from 25 yards. It crashes off the woodwork and on the follow-up Carrasco then sees his header bounce off the crossbar.
Tielemans has a chance to get a shot away but instead opts to pass and gives possession away. Moments later, Mertens win Belgium another corner. Again, it fails to trouble Croatia's defence.
After a slow start, Belgium have settled and are looking the more likely to open the scoring. They're hunting in packs and making life difficult for Croatia.
Possession stats: Belgium 47% - Croatia 53%.
Vertonghen gets forward and wins a free-kick right next to the corner flag. It's sent in by Carrasco but it's a very comfortable catch for Livakovic.
Petkovic, playing as Croatia's lone striker, holds the ball up as Croatia form another attack. Rebic stands up a cross but Denayer wins the header and Belgium survive.
Ah, that's beautiful by Modric as he nutmegs Tielemans to lead a Croatia counter-attack from Belgium's corner. Rebic wins Croatia a corner of their own, and this game is becoming very stretched.
There's a spare man as Belgium attack. Lukaku rolls it to Mertens, who passes to Carrasco on the overlap. His cross is hacked clear by Brozovic. Moments later, Carrasco sees his shot blocked by Caleta-Car to win a corner.
Livakovic is back to his feet and seems fine to continue.
Lukakau gets in behind Caleta-Car as he looks to latch onto a through-ball but collides with the goalkeeper Livakovic who had raced off his line. The referee deems that to be a foul and the Croatia shot-stopper requires treatment, which is the last thing Zlatko Dalic needs.
Carrasco's corner delivery is sent to the near post, it's flicked on but Croatia scramble the danger clear.
That was very careless from Brozovic, and very uncharacteristic. It's a let-off for Croatia. Belgium are growing into the game now and Carrasco wins the hosts a corner just now.
Chance! Belgium use the high-press to good effect, Brozovic plays a blind pass across his own goal and Chadli steals in but shoots high and wide.
Croatia in total control of possession and looking very comfortable just now.
Flag up as Rebic makes a forward run only to be caught in an offside position.
Croatia were held to a disappointing 1-1 draw with Armenia last week but judging from what they've produced in the early stages here, there's a much more determined feel about the team.
Belgium have won their last 15 games on home soil and must start the match as favourites, but Croatia will be buoyed by their impressive start.
Nothing comes of the corner, but Croatia keep the attack alive. Perisic drives to the byline but fails to pick out a team mate with his floated cross.
Croatia start the match on the front foot as they win an early corner, Denayer heading a cross behind.

These nations have met on seven different occasions, with Croatia winning three games, losing twice. The last time they played was back in 2013 - a young Romelu Lukaku scored twice as Belgium qualified for World Cup 2014 with a 2-1 win.
Belgium kick off their Euro 2020 campaign against Russia on Saturday, June 12 at Gazprom Arena, while Croatia get started a day later against England at Wembley. Denmark and Finland follow next for Belgium, and for Croatia it's Czech Republic and Scotland.
Roberto Martinez, Belgium manager: "If you look at Croatia's recent results you would not expect it, but they are a far better team than three years ago. What changed is that opponents now treat them as World Cup finalists, which means they adapt their way of playing. That makes it hard for any team. Croatia have one of the strongest midfields of the entire competition."
Zlatko Dalic, Croatia manager: "We are playing against the world's best ranked team in the FIFA rankings. We have a big respect for Belgium. The match is very important as the result could give us self-confidence, stability, motivation - and we want to get a good result.

Belgium boss Roberto Martinez makes three changes to the side that drew 1-1 with Greece in their last friendly, with Jan Vertonghen replacing Dedryck Boyata in defence, in midfield Timothy Castagne comes in for Thomas Meunier and Nacer Chadli takes the place of Thorgan Hazard.
