Romania very dangerous there as they get a 2 versus 1 against Godfrey and Camora squares to Marin who sidefoots meekly at Johnstone.

Grealish dives at the edge of the box looking for a free kick. Really a side of his game which he needs to ease up on. There are times when it is advantageous but he does it too much and with everyone watching Premier League football all referees will know about his tendency.

A dangerous moment as Paun gets a ball in space on the by-line at the six-yard box but his driven in cross deflects off his own man and out for a goal kick.

Romania will not be at the Euros of course but they have beaten qualified sides like Austria and North Macedonia in the last year, so I think it is fair to honour them with the 'no mugs' moniker.

Probably the player with most on the line for England today is Jack Grealish. He just played a few games towards the end of the season. Some overexcited pundits have said he could be the 'Gazza' of this tournament for England. While it's hard to see him occupying that rarefied air of Gascoigne in 1990/1996, Owen in 1998 and Rooney in 2004, he is England's most exciting dribbler in the final third, but with England spoilt for choice in this area he is by no means certain of starting against Croatia on Sunday. A good performance today could change that.

It looks on the surface a very attacking 4-3-3 formation with Rashford and Sancho flanking Calvert-Lewin and very attacking midfielders Ward-Prowse and Grealish sandwiching Phillips, who could be a little exposed if Romania break well.

You have to say it's a strange selection for Southgate on the eve of the tournament. Debuts to White and Godfrey, both of whom you would assume will not be Trent Alexander Arnold's replacement, as well as James Ward-Prowse who might well be.
