A fabulous strike from Tottenham Hotspur’s Joshua Onomah inspired England’s U-21s to a 3-1 victory over Scotland on Friday.

Onomah, who is on-loan at Aston Villa, opened the scoring when he brought the ball down on the edge of the area and smashed an emphatic volley into the top corner.
Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham, who is on-loan at Swansea City, then won and scored a penalty to double England’s lead.
Scotland pulled one back through Chris Cadden but a fabulous ball from Onomah played in Abraham, who selflessly squared it to Dominic Solanke to make it three.

The win puts England top of Group 4 but if Ukraine win their game in hand they will go top.
The nine group winners qualify automatically for the finals in 2019 in Italy whilst the best four runners-up go into a play-off system.
