Kieran Tierney turned his attention to wrapping up the Ladbrokes Premiership title after helping Celtic book their William Hill Scottish Cup final place with a 4-0 win over Rangers on Sunday.
The Hoops cruised through their semi-final at Hampden Park courtesy of first-half goals from Tom Rogic and Callum McGregor and second-half penalties from Moussa Dembele and Olivier Ntcham, with Gers defender Ross McCrorie sent off for conceding the first spot-kick.
With just one win required from five post-split Ladbrokes Premiership fixtures to clinch their seventh successive league title, Brendan Rodgers’ men are effectively a cup final win against Motherwell away from an historic second successive domestic treble.
Tierney, though, wants the title secured as soon as possible.
“That’s the aim,” said the 20-year-old Scotland left-back.
“We have Hibs next weekend, so a couple of days recovery and back in training as hard as ever.
“It (second treble) would be a great achievement
“It has never been done before and that is for a reason. We know it is going to be very hard.
“We still have a few tough games coming up so it is just one game at a time as always.”
Asked about the challenge posed by Motherwell, who beat Aberdeen 3-0 in their semi-final at Hampden Park on Saturday, Tierney said: “Motherwell are a good team. They always make it hard for us.
“They know what they are good at, they have some good players as well.
“So we will be looking forward to the game.”
Celtic have gone 10 games unbeaten against Rangers since Rodgers took over as boss in 2016 and Tierney enjoyed what was a convincing win.
He added: “It is brilliant. I know what it means to every Celtic fan out there.
“I thought we dealt with the pressure brilliantly. We made it a bit more comfortable for ourselves.
“We battled hard then we got the ball down and played football and that’s what we do best.
“And if we play our game, hopefully we can go on and win the remaining games.”
