Brazil coach Dunga has called up Robinho into the squad for the Copa America in Venezuela later this month, and his camp are insisting the player reports for the beginning of the training camp starting on Tuesday, setting them on a collision course with Real Madrid.
Vagner Ribero, Robinho's representative, warned the Meregues they could "lose three points" should they refuse to release the player, as the Copa America is an official FIFA-recognised competition.
"I am going to Spain to meet with the directors of Real Madrid," Ribeiro announced. "I have already spoken with [sporting director] Predrag Mijatovic, and he has already told me he will write to the Brazilian FA asking permission to use Robinho [for the Mallorca match]."
A similar situation has occurred with Sevilla right back Daniel Alves, whose side is also in the hint for the title. He has joined up with the Brazilian players at their training camp, though he is likely to be granted permission to fly back at the weekend for his side's game against Villarreal.
