Derby County are everyone’s new favourite team after they outplayed Manchester United at Old Trafford, eventually winning 8-7 on penalties after a 2-2 draw – a match made even more intriguing as it pitted Frank Lampard against Jose Mourinho in the dugout.

And while one of them was left toasting the greatest result in their brief managerial tenure, the other must surely be reflecting on whether it is time to say goodbye.
